  1. It helps to go at certain times. I usually avoid indoor ranges on the weekends. I go early during the weekdays, in the afternoon just before afternoon rush. If I do go on the weekends, I make sure I'm on line early (i.e. before the doors open).

He was referring to OBRPC, the door opens whenever he wants, 24/7 indoor, 9am until sunset outdoor.

  2. Normally I'd break your balls about that, but I too will be watching the weather.

My son has a tournament in Toms River tomorrow, first pitch 12:00.  Normally I'd be there coaching but the little shit asked me to stop coaching so now my Sunday's are free.  Problem is that my wife isn't a big fan of driving long distances, and if there is a threat of heavy rain she's going to be on edge and making the bad noise about me not driving her to and from the game so she can watch her son play baseball.

    Argh.

Can't say I blame him for firing the coach.

As for the noisy wife, I completely understand that one.

  3. I have owned the Shield, PM9, and Walther PPS. I have had the chance to play with the XDS and the nano. Of all of them, I still have the Shield.

PM9 - Great little gun, for me it was just a little too small to shoot comfortably and accurately.

Walther PPS - Awesome trigger, very comfortable to shoot, very accurate. Unfortunately, I bought that one in .40. It had feeding issues and a heck of a kick.

XDS - Personally, didn't like anything about it. Especially the feel in my hands.

Nano - Meh. It's OK, nothing special about it that peaked my interest. Besides, if Nick likes it, it can't be any good.

Shield - Very nice feel in the hands, comfortable to shoot, accurate. Trigger is not the best but, could be made much better with an Apex kit. Although I will probably leave it be. It's not a competition or range gun, the stock trigger is just fine for it's purpose, which for me is AIWB around the house.

  4. Dave -

I would like to take a ride over to the club/range and check it out, possibly join up.   Is there a good time for this?  Anyone in particular to talk to?

The only time you can join is at the new member orientation. The next one is June 8th @ 9am. As far as checking out the range before joining, any full member can meet up with you and give you a tour. Or, you could come down to one of the many competitions at both the indoor and outdoor ranges and take a look then, competitions are open to the public. Check out the events calendar on the home page.

  5. Welcome to forum!

I guess I am so much fun they just love to keep seeing me there. This is the only reasonable explanation why they still did not issue my fpid 2+ months later :(

Probably soon. They usually average about 90 days for the initial.

also from  old bridge and  new to the forums just wanted to say hey and  comment on the id card / pistol permit time.

i downloaded the forms online, filled them out and dropped them off at the records dept. at that time they gave me the ref. letter and the fingerprint forms. she told me my file would not be submitted until i returned with those papers. i completed those and dropped them off  a week later  on a tuesday by the following thursday i had my id card and pistol permit. couldnt believe it was that quick dont know how or why but i was happy about it.

That's awesome. The best I have ever seen from them is 4 weeks.
