It's been over a year since this thread started and some of yous people still can't get it through your heads...taylor ham!
And, Alec...ketchup has absolutely no place on a hot dog!
edit to add:
Why can't I use all caps for T A Y L O R H A M?

That's a pretty normal price for that ammo. That ain't for plinking.

Wow, this sounds like a very good deal. I'll have to get my hands on a P226 again to see how it feels. I shot one last year but made the mistake of shooting a CZ 75 SP01 at the same time. After holding, and eventually purchasing a CZ 75B, many othe guns feel blocky or chunky.
I'm looking for a 22 as well and thought I had it narrowed down to the Ruger Mark II 22/45 Target. Maybe I'll just have to get both the Ruger and the Sig P226 Classic and then add the 9mm conversion kit to the Sig!
If you like your CZ, why not pick up the Kadet conversion kit for it.

Howard, if you come to OB steel Sunday, you can try Jeremy ' s Dawsons and my Tripps and see if either helps.

Very interesting. I had not given this much thought. Just curious why a UPS hub is OK, but not a UPS store? Is there some legal distinction between them, or is it just more arbitrary NJ BS?
Not NJ - UPS policy. They want guns in the system the minimum amount of time possible (hence the next day shipping restriction also) to reduce the possibility of theft.
Also, UPS stores are privately owned franchises. They are not employees of UPS.

still cant hit **** though
Wondered how long that would take. That means a lot coming from the 31st loser.

Of those two, definitely the Springer. I shot my first couple matches with a TRP with factory ammo and had a blast. I'd suggest using what you got for a few matches and see if it's something you really enjoy. If so, look into reloading and maybe even a 9mm 1911. I use a S&W 1911 Pro Series in 9mm now with my own loads and there really is a huge difference.

That's actually a good question. One I have thought about before and why I schedule a home pick up.
-
You can take it to a ups hub, not a ups store. I usually just schedule a home pick up instead of driving to the hub.

Kimber has had problems with external extractors. Mostly extraction issues, not any safety problems. S&W went with an oversized external extractor and they seem to work quite well. I have not had any issues with my 9mm 1911 with well over 5k through the gun.
Glad you're ok Howard.

Great job, Alec.

This case is over but they can take the CA case and rule on it if it is petitioned.
I used to not think this but I really think that SCOTUS is afraid to take a case because guns
That's a big if on the 9th circuit case. Unfortunately, I think they were more worried about how they are perceived than about constitutional rights. The entire system is screwed up. This is not the country our forefathers founded.

After 4 years, it appears we can send this thread off to the archives. This state is beyond hope, and the rest of the country probably isn't far behind.

T minus 4 hours until the re-list.

Glass shopping is always the tough part. Too many choices. I saw swfa has the vortex viper 6 - 24x50 on closeout for $399.

All matches at Old Bridge, USPSA, IDPA, Steel, etc. are open to the public. Let the match director know you are new, you will get a safety briefing and be squaded with experienced shooters. I'm sure someone will chime in that will be willing to meet up with you. IDPA, is the one match I don't attend. Have fun.
edit to add:
There is a Steel match this Sunday at OB if you're interested. A nice way to get used to drawing from a holster and being on the clock.

Stupid question because I did not find the information in the link to the law.
Seems like once it's in force, we will not be able to buy a non "personalized handgun" But I did not see anything about the removal and or destruction of traditional handguns already owned. Am I right on that one?
Just trying to find an excuse to tell the wife to buy more lol :-p
The law does not address existing guns.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Not everyone grew up around guns and they really don't know much about them. I suggest you take a course to get the basics down. NRA first steps pistol or NRA basic pistol would be a good place to start.

I haven't been to range 14 in about 5 years but, I believe it was about $60 to join plus the hourly fees. They have paper targets mounted to 2x3's for sale and they loan you a post hole digger to put them in the sand.

Hammer down and Rick carries a Python, not a S&W 1911.
