  1. I was going to get a 10/22 for some cheap range fun. Then started reading about their lack of accuracy, so I figured I could just change the barrel, trigger and stock. After adding all that up I said what the hell, spend a couple hundred more and get a full custom built 10/22 from Tony Kidd. At least it will still be cheap to shoot. Can't wait until the weather breaks.

  2. 1. Application type - FID with 1 PP

    2. Police Department where you applied. Old Bridge

    3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Records Dept.

    4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. 85 days for initial. 40 days for another PP.

    5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). None

    6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). They don't tell you much when you call just the "It's on the Chief's desk waiting to be signed" routine. Then it just shows up in the mail, no call before hand.

  3. Lovely Elizabeth. The only town to refuse to participate in the NJSP Gang Survey. Very Anti-Gun town. Sad to say, a threatining letter from an attorney or notifying the NJSP wont do you much good. The only thing that matters in Elizabeth is what Mayor Chris says. He's part of that whole Lesniak, Cryan crew. Your best bet is if you know anyone in the police dept. Talk to them and see if they could nudge the chief for you.

  4. Screw Dell and HP!!! Dell is about to close their last plant in the US. All of their products will be made and assembled in China. My wife works for HP, she's one of a very few Americans that still has a support job that hasn't been outsourced to India.

  5. not starting the whole 38 VS 9mm VS 357 VS 45 debate..

but is there any reason most of these little pocket guns generally stop bellow .40? seems like in caliber smaller than 40 there are lots of choices.. if you want to carry in a sub compact something in 40 it is basically Glock 27 and maybe one or two other choices..

Kahr PM40 or PM45. Might be a little rough though.

  6. This discussion makes me recall when NICS was down for a few days during the week of 9-11.

As for NICS transactions, New Jersey seems to have broken the monthly record for NICS checks this year in the month of November based on FBI data. http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/nics/reports/state-totals_1998-2010-2?12

Still, for a state of almost 9 million people, this represents a very small percentage.

Look at the numbers for Kentucky

  7. Huge blow? I don't think so. Look at the source, District of souhern California. If any place is more F'd up than Jersey, it's Cali. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see all or at least most of the current suits filed be dismissed or lost. Which is fine, we just need to get at least one to the SCOTUS, where we will hopefully get a ruling that will have to be enforced throughout the entire US.
