  1. what people have told me is.. if you are there for 30 minutes.. an hour.. whatever.. its better to be there to show support than to not go at all.. it helps for government to see that there are a LOT of gun owners.. that vote.. last year there were so many people they had to stop letting people in because the capitol was filled to CAPACITY... that does not happen with the anti gun groups go there.. its important to maintain that visual image..
  2. I know this is "NJ" gun forums.. but just wondering if anyone is coming to the rally tomorrow in the capitol..
  3. Ended up ordering a pair of MROs one for my AR SBR and one for my future AK SBR... we will see how it goes..
  4. not a chance.. this is for my 7.5in SBR.. an ACOG would be so out of place.. LOL
  5. I only have a handful of guns so when it comes to parts I normally stretch up a little higher in price for something I perceive as better.. with that said I do have a PA scope on my 308 that is pretty good.. but from a quality perspective my Trijicon scope seems much better.. Yes you do remember right.. for whatever reason I had an eotech before and it was not that bad.. the deltapoint is pretty clear.. but main goal is going over to a green reticle.. maybe it’s just in my head but I feel like I pick it up faster..
  6. Looking at a new SBR optic.. the Leopold is good but I really want to switch to a green reticle.. they will be about the same price.. looking at the MRO VS Eotech.. Eotech was pretty good for me when I ran it before.. but open to input..
  7. even if I ignore all practical sense... I still can not grasp the "fun" in this.. especially at that price tag..
  8. if it makes you feel any better I am fighting shell ejection issues at the moment.. LOL
  9. the old one was really a POS and starting to leak gas between the block and the barrel under heavy sustained fire.. its funny how first instinct is not always right.. when I saw the spent case in the port I assumed the ejection was super weak.. but I think its actually the opposite.. I think the ejection is so aggressive that the spent case may be getting knocked around in there because the action is so violent.. The ejection chart is super helpful and I think it actually makes sense now.. I think the new block for whatever reason is simply letting in more gas than the previous one... negative not adjustable... a small increase in weight of the buffer added a ton of reliability compared to yesterday.. so I am hoping I can solve this with a heavier buffer..
  10. OK so the wife came to the range.. a few observations... The only change prior to shooting was an increase to a slightly heavier buffer Ejection improved significantly Ejection is CRAZY far forward, like 1:00 forward I am going to make some assumptions The heavier buffer increasing reliability The extreme forward ejection The fact that I just swapped out a really questionable gas block for one that appears to be decent quality 2A Armament Ti block The gun is likely overpassed. This condition may have been created by ditching the previous block, maybe the port was undersized? Maybe it was not properly aligned who knows.... My next steps are: Heavier buffer BCM Extractor kit just for good measure (this spring has definitely seen thousands of rounds)
  11. My SBR has been really reliable up until recently.. I just changed the gas block so I suspect it is possible that the port is just not lined up correctly but here is the condition. * Gun will fire * Spent case may not fully clear the port * Next round does get stripped off of the mag and loaded * sometimes ejection is so weak that the spent case falls back into port causing a jam This condition occurs erratically several times per mag, and appears to happen more regularly with a higher rate of fire. I checked gas block alignment but what else should I be looking at.
  12. I have encountered LEO while open carrying a full size Glock and have never even taken a second look.. for what its worth I am in central PA.. the bigger issue is the random store that happens to have a no gun policy on some tiny unnoticeable sign.. they may approach and ask you to leave if they see a gun.. and you need to comply or then you are on the wrong side of the law..
  13. if you want me to just come out and say it.. there are places even in free America that prefer that you do not carry a gun.. I am not interested in that game.. so I avoid that by not taking notice of any signs... and not carrying a gun that prints in any way.. you will absolutely positively not see my 43 even if you are looking for it.. will you see a 27.. 19... 22? maybe? maybe not.. but the 43 is virtually impossible to notice.. so it wins the round.. and gets the pick..
  14. my preference is that it be both.. as I stated.. if I were to carry the most ideal gun for self defense.. I would carry my AR15.. I am extremely fast and accurate with it.. it has a large magazine capacity.. but we live in a world of compromise... I see any handgun as a compromise.. because I believe them to be inferior to a carbine.. you see a small framed handgun as a compromise.. my point is they are both compromises of varying degree to different people.. if I am stuck carrying a handgun my qualifications are deep concealment.. and ability to hit the target at 25 yards.. that's my checklist.. my 22 does that.. my 27 did that.. my 43 does that.. so I choose the one that is most comfortable to carry..
  15. if that were the case.. I would carry an AR15 around all the time.. PA is pretty forgiving with gun rights.. but sometimes I find myself in places that are a lot less receptive.. I avoid the whole discussion by carrying the smallest gun I trust.. so for me that is the 43.. I understand your perspective.. I have carried a 27.. and even a 23 and 22 with a weapon light.. its all workable.. no argument.. I simply prefer the 43 and accept the trade off..
  16. I carry a 43 because I absolutely positively do not want the gun identified when I am carrying it.. that is my priority.. do I shoot my full size Glock better? sure.. but do I shoot both well enough to engage a target at SD range.. yes.. so I choose the smaller gun.. because concealment is the priority..
  17. I carry a Glock 43 every day.. so I am completely used to it.. non issue.. my little finger is not where the bulk of my strength is coming from to support the gun.. so not really a problem..
  18. I really really really wanted to suppress it at first.. but 7.5in 5.56.. its just really not all that quiet.. so not sure if its worth it.. thank you.. I really do like the gun..
  19. It’s good in that it gets the gun in my backpack... as far as build quality.. it’s built like a tank..
  20. Tried with that AK pistol I have and it’s just not the same.. I’m about to do another stamp.. LOL
  21. Cerakote done.. and a new front grip which I actually like quite a bit.. 22. thank you I appreciate that.. that was probably one of my favorite Saiga builds... if I had kept one that would have been the one.. EDIT: my OCD is making me nuts.. I should have left that gas block and FSB black.. lol
  23. negative.. but just imagine if you were looking at the inside of a gas block and you could see hot gas scorching marks on the side of the walls.. IF the block had held up to the heat.. or had been made well.. those marks would never happen because they gas would have not made it out of the block.. I think that as the block wore over time more and more gas would escape which actually cause the block to wear more and more on the sides.. now we are not talking full scale beach erosion during a hurricane obviously... we are just talking fractions of a millimeter.. but when you expose that to high velocity high heat gas.. and direct that at your support hand.. its annoying to say the least.. hopefully the titanium one holds up better.. yes that is exactly what it is.. from what I can tell it is made well.. but proof will come from shooting..
