  1. Thanks, good to know. I mainly want the battlecomp for the recoil reduction and the added accuracy.
  2. If I got a 16" barrel would I still have to have the comp pinned and welded?
  3. By combat I mean self defense, shtf, wrol, whatever. I hope I never have to use it in that way, but I want a combat reliable custom built rifle, not something mass produced. I prefer to build it myself so I can learn about the AR platform. I've shot a few other AR's in the past, and the most impressive to me, was the HK MR556A1.

  6. Idk I really liked the point of the article, I think the concept is right.
  7. Thanks for all the input! I guess the purpose for the rifle is a SHTF/Combat scenario. I definitely don't plan to do any competition with it. After reading the following post on m4carbine.net Post and all of your comments above, I think I will be fine with the 1 in 7 twist barrel. I originally thought that the 1 in 9 barrel will give my gun better accuracy, I guess I should have done more reading, lol. How is this barrel? BCM Standard 14" M4 SOCOM Barrel, Stripped With regards to the trigger, I think initially I don't want anything fancy, just a standard mil-spec trigger. I may change my mind in the future, we'll see. I always like the CTR stock, and I hate the fact that in NJ we have to pin them. Does anyone have any recommendations for a stock to balance the proposed configuration?

  9. My co-worker sent me this, I thought it was worth sharing. As the Supreme Court hears arguments for and against the Chicago, IL Gun Ban, I offer you another stellar example of a letter (written by a Marine), that places the proper perspective on what a gun means to a civilized society. Interesting take and one you don't hear much. . . . . .. Read this eloquent and profound letter and pay close attention to the last paragraph of the letter.... So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. This is worth printing and sharing with others!
  10. I work at JCPD three days a week as a consultant. I was told by a few of the cops there to keep a copy of my handgun permit(s) and a copy of my FID on me when transporting a handgun(s). It makes sense in my opinion.
  11. If you don't mind sharing, why is your shotgun being confiscated?
