  1. I should add for clarity that with full size aimpoints my front and rear are fixed, with a micro my rear is folding.

Good point for relevance: I have fixed front (std FSB) and folding rear on all of my ARs.

With a std FSB and a T1 in a LT660 and a std FSB and a PRO. I have been using fixed rear sights.

Why the folding rear buis on the T1 guys?  (Just curious, not attacking)

  2. Wanted to bump this for an email announcement I just got from Magpul.

They are now selling their MS1 sling. It is a quick adjust 2 point sling - similar to the VCAS or VTAC. They are then selling the attachment points as a modular system. You can by swivels, single point conversions, clips, extensions, etc.... To set it up how you want. This is great, I no longer have to buy a $40 sling that I don't like just to cut the "clips" off to thread them through my VCAS to attach it to the ASAP plate. I can just buy the clip for $9. This makes my heart soar like an eagle... :)

Good news indeed!  I couldn't cut up a perfectly good sling for those clips.

  3. I've been over there 10 times and their respect for eachother is awesome. If you're doing 145 and someone is going faster get your but in the right lane so they can pass! It's really a pretty simple concept! Also impressed with their regard for drinking and driving. No room for mistakes at that speed so they just don't do it (at least the people I've hung out with). Something to be said about being responsible for ones actions and respecting other drivers.

Tell me about it.  I didn't move over in my rental car (#40) and found out the hard way.  I am still paying for this mess!

  4. Why not get a 2 peice FF rail that has a cut out for the FSB. Troy, Daniel Defense, Centurian Arms, MWI, all make outstanding models like this. It will install in minutes, and you don't have to mess with grinding, cutting, shaving, or taper pins.

I prefer a standard FSB to a folding front sight anyway. It is always up, meaning one less thing you need to do in the event of an optic failure. It is mounted directly to the barrel, so it is less likely to lose zero or get bumped on a rail. And with a lower 1/3 co-witness, you stop seeing it in your sight picture after a few rounds. Win, win, win.

Just for some of the other folks reading this.

Keep in mind that the delta ring assy as well as the hand guard cap may need to be removed as well for some of these 2-piece FSB cutout rails.

  5. i've also read larry vickers wants you to explain why you dont use 100 yard/meter zero in his carbine course if you come with a rifle zero'd for something else.

Not true, He prefers the 100 zero but if you understand your zero he doesn't care.

Don't take my word for it though, take one of his courses.
