I have been doing business for Tips since the 70's. It was the only local place where you could buy Carhartts. Any new operation will have a few bumps in the road, I"m sure they will be successful.

I went back today with my family and took the class over with a different instructor. This time I had the wife and kids take the class. The instructor only said to have your magazines empty. The guy who gave the class yesterday was not there, His first name is Kharis. I bought the combo package for $375 which includes both firearm and archery. Both my kids are in 4 H archery and I'm an instructor for 4 H shotgun. This will allow them to shoot all winter. The archery range was empty while we were there and I'm looking forward to getting the kids more time rather than shooting arrows in the back yard that sometimes get lost in the woods. Very friendly people that work there.

I think the place is worth the trip just to check out how big it is and how much merchandise they carry. Ammo is expensive, but if you buy it to shoot there they knock 10% off. It's right off the parkway very convenient.

I was very calm, more annoyed. I can still go back later as I was polite, just disagreed. A woman sitting next to me told him she knows the law and always loads before coming to the range.

I had already written out the $250 check to join, but they were about to start the mandatory safety class and told me hand in my paperwork after the class. The class was straight forward DVD - 8 minutes, and then a brief talk about range safety. Now comes the problem. In his talk the instructor said it was illegal to bring a loaded magazine to the range, NJ law states that he says. I raise my hand and state that as long as the magazine is not in the firearm and locked separate from the locked firearm it is legal. The instructor then tells me as an ex-Sgt. he would arrest me if he pulled me over and I had a loaded magazine, and I should know NJ state laws if I am to travel with a firearm. I stood up, told him I think he should know the laws better since he is teaching the class and walked out.
The range looked great, parking was full, prices were a bit high, but overall a beautiful facility. I still may join, but I was put off by the instructor. All the people working in the store were very nice and there was a decent selection of firearms and ammunition.

How did those games lead you to a semi?
Trap is just one shot. I have done doubles with my 870 pump, but see that it would be much easier while keeping an eye on the second bird and not having to manually eject a load. Skeet coming from each direction and just having to worry about the clay and the trigger made it an easy decision. There is also the possibility of waterfowl hunting so I thought it logical to go with a semi.

I've been shooting trap for a little under 2 years. I started with a pump 870, and did well with that gun. About 2 months ago I attended a 2 day training at a 4-H camp to be able to teach kids how to shoot shotgun. The nice part of the training was that we got to shoot a variety of shotguns from O/U, S/S, pump, and a semi. I think you need to just take your time and try out the variety of shotguns out there. I was headed for an O/U, but decided on the semi as I will want to shoot skeet and other sporting clays in the future. Every week at the range someone has a used (usually good condition) trap gun they are willing to sell. Good luck with your choice.

Both places house known gang members. Last I saw, there were 80 know gang members in Jackson.

I work on Manhattan Street, 3 blocks away from the shooting. We have construction going on and one round which has said to be a 12ga. slug hit one of the construction trailers on our site. We were on lockdown for a few hours. Place was coverd with cops from Jackson, Howell, Freehold, and the State Police.

I get the same problem while I'm at work. I can't bookmark it there and I erase the cookies and history after each session.

I think you can get a vehicle onto the range with little effort. You may have to drive in from the opposite direction. I'm tied up next Saturday with a shoot, but I would be will to show up with a rake and shovel. The Boy Scout troops like to do community service also, so maybe one or two in the area can be asked. They do offer a shooting merit badge so maybe that can be tied into that.
The last time I was at that range, it looked like a wild west shootout with way too many people shooting rounds that were not allowed there. There was one group shooting trap out the back of a pickup truck. I drove in saw what was going on and left. I'm afraid if the state sees what's going on they will close the place down.

I have federal & pmc 5.56 in if you need some
Thanks, I'm always looking. I bought my sport from you last fall. Thanks for the great service. Now I'm trying to find 22LR for the 4 H archery club that I'm a leader in. We are spreading out to 22 and shotgun so I need a couple bricks of Federal or CCI Blazer if you come across any.
-
Just came back from Tip's. They had no 22LR, but other than that seemed to have most calibers. Most of the .223 and 5.56 were $12.99. They had 4 varities, PMC, UMC, the Israel 5.56 and for over $20 the Hornady.
-
Has Federal .223 XM 193. They are selling for $21.99 a box. Limit 3. I passed on that one.

I was shopping for a grill two weeks ago and settled on a Kitchen Aide that is sold by Costco, but some one else actually makes it. Everything is stainless with a ten year warranty for the burners, even the grid is stainless. Consumer Reports listed Vermont Castings $900 and $1,000. as there number 1 & 2 choice. I didn't even know they made gas bbq grills.

That's nice, when I sent him a letter he told me what a good job he was doing getting funds for Hurricane Sandy. There was no mention of guns or 2A.
-
I have 8 of the PMags from riflegear, most accept the 15 rounds without issue, some prefer 14 rounds. I have never had a problem with them loading.

Not to worry, weren't yours all lost in that boating accident too?
It's the damnedest thing, there I was out in the ocean on a sunny day cleaning all my firearms when this rogue wave came along............ lucky to be alive to tell this tale!
-
I've first done a search, but can't find the answer, maybe I'm not putting in the correct wording.
When you buy a firearm in NJ and fill out the paperwork, does NJ keep this on file forever? Will they know who owns what by looking it up in their data base? I guess what I am asking is, IF these bans go through, are we on a list of some kind?
-
I've been asked for my FID when asking to been shown a weapon at more than one store. It doesn't bother me in the least.
-
I haven't shot that brand but have shot reloads from Freedom Munitions without issue.
I shoot Freedom 9mm reloads along with the new, but they haven't had anything in stock since they opened a store a few months back. Going to shoot their 5.56 Tuesday.

As a lot of you did, I took the time to write Congress and State Senators about my view on the AWB bill being proposed. Well Jon Runyan did send me a letter back. It mentioned NOTHING about the AWB, but wanted to let me know that he fought very hard to get bills passed to help get funding for Hurricane Sandy and the fisheries. While I'm happy he did that, how can he ignore the fact that I sent him a letter on the AWB?
-
It gets totally erased and blocked our from any record. I went to the county and saw this for myself. IIRC you have to send 5 or 6 letters to different agencies with your information. They send you a couple page form that tells you how to do it. I think it took 3-4 months. Some crimes can be expunged, egg throwing is right up there with parking meter violations. Good luck.
-
You can do an expungement on your own without spending money on a lawyer. It is not that difficult.
Wtf is this?
