    So I'm not a hero, I definitely would not defend your children if a person decided to storm a school unless I was carrying my own firearm. I don't mean to piss off any parents as I am not one myself but your kids life is not greater than my own. Your kid lives and I die, GTFO with that noise. I'll call the police, I'll try to lock the gunman in a certain part of the school but I will not confront him head on unless I am packing my own firearm. Ray Ray I think you should talk to your union about this. I quote: "Nah. Boy, dying is easy. There is nothing heroic about dying. But if you can take a stand for something you'd be willing to kill for, that is something, something special", guess what, your children are not that special to me.

    Went to bullet hole on Saturday. It was quite packed but yet fun. I had my first FTE with a round stuck in the slide of my 22-A1. Removed and kept on firing then had my first jam (range officer, good guy helped me clear it). I was shooting Federal American Eagle some rounds just never fired, ejected them manually and had a few jams after that. I would say out of the batch of five hundred thirty rounds were bad. Bought a batch of five hundred CCI Blazer for my next outing and a gun cleaning kit. Since bullet hole allows some higher powered rifles it was my first time feeling the concussion blow from bigger rounds. Just a little unsettling as I was trying to aim.

    So I shot 500 rounds now through the S&W 22-A1. Solid .22 plinking/target pistol I can definitely recommend it. Now it is time for me to move on. Was thinking either a .22LR rifle or a .308.

    I live in Hudson County, NJ and am looking for a range in this area that has Saturday hours. I did a quick look and the Bayonne range is closed. Can anyone recommend any ranges that have hours from lets say 10AM to 12PM that are open to the public? (I did some looking on the google map collection and the listing page but wasn't able to make a comprehensive decision.)

    Today was the first time ever shooting my first pistol purchase. I went to the Bayonne pistol range and had a lot of fun and look forward to going back soon (can only go weekends as weekdays is kind of busy for me). The staff there was helpful and I even got a basic introduction into range safety and shooting. Definitely hooked and look forward to purchasing my next pistol. I shot my S&W 22-A1, put two hundred fifty rounds through it today and it feels real good in my hands. Here are the photos of my targets and groupings.

    It is a S&W Model 22-A1. It felt really good in my hand so I decided to pull the trigger (no pun intended) on the purchase. I got it for a reasonable price and picked up a hundred rounds of ammunition to start with. What it did not come with the gun at purchase was the hard case, master lock, eyes, ears and snap caps.

     

    I feel really good about this purchase. The lady behind the desk Lisa was awesome at Caso's and even let me hold an AR-15 just to try it out. I look forward to getting down to the pistol range during the week to try it out.

    I went to school in South Orange (Seton Hall) and as soon as you crossed that border into Newark it was like being in a whole different place... It never ceased to amaze me that no matter what gun laws were enacted at the local level guns were not kept out of the hands of the bad guys. Makes me think someone was doing something wrong. However if someone asked me to sell my super soaker 100 at the age of nine in an already hot concrete jungle I would have cried.
