  1. I'm glad to see that someone else in NJ has a 300 BLK. For a while I thought I was the only person in the state that owns one.
  2. For anyone interested, here's some comparison data put together by Robert Silvers. The most up-to-date data is in the middle of the first page. http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=78569
  3. In my opinion, I think this is also really awesome... 300 AAC Blackout (300BLK) Suppressed FN Mk46 MOD1 Light Machine Gun
  4. Yes it exists. I think Shawnmoore81 is referring to the ammo in the link below. In fact this is what I use in my BCM... Federal American Eagle Ammunition 5.56x45mm NATO 62 Grain XM855 Penetrator Full Metal Jacket http://www.midwayusa...ll-metal-jacket
  5. Shane45, Is it this one? http://www.lmtstore....pon-system.html That's a hot rifle. If only I had the cash...
  6. I've heard that LMT makes a very nice (but expensive) AR10 style rifle. Anyone ever try it?
  7. My BCM is 1:7 twist and I usually only shoot 62 gr when I go plinking with it, but when I plink with 55 gr it works ok. It's not ideal for me to go with 55gr, but sometimes it's the most cost effective choice.
  8. Krdshrk has a good point. It would help to know some basic specifications of your rifle so that people can assist you.
  9. FYI - The price of Remington UMC 300 BLK ammo dropped to 11.99 on MidwayUSA http://www.300blktal...p?f=128&t=78597

    300 Blackout

Supersonic ammo from all the 300BLK ammunition manufacturers reliably works 100% without a suppressor. On my barrel I only have a pinned thread protector on it, and it works perfectly. Again, you do not need a suppressor on a 300BLK AR rifle with carbine length gas. Also, there is affordable ammo out there offered by Remington for 12.99 and PNW for 12.49. Anyone can probably find cheaper deals buying it in bulk online. When Cheaper Than Dirt starts offering the Remington UMC and PNW ammo, they will probably sell them lower than $12. In the near future, there will probably be more ammunition manufacturers that will sell affordable ammo for range use. List of manufacturers can be found in the link below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/300_BLK Robert Silvers runs www.300blktalk.com and keeps people up to date with all the latest new offerings for the caliber. New product information on that forum keeps on coming and doesn't seem like it's slowing down at all, especially because of Shot Show 2012.
  11. This one is my favorite. A nice price for a quality handguard. http://troyind.com/%20/rail-systemsaccessories/rails/ar15m16-rails/free-float-rails/troy-battlerail-mrf-mx-10

    300 Blackout

I personally have not tried it beyond 200 yards. I have heard of people on www.m4carbine.net attempting beyond 200 with Hornady VMAX ammo. Realistically, I think blk is useful only up to 200 or even 300 (if you know what you are doing, but I think that is pushing it) If 400-500 yards is important to you, I honestly do not think you will be happy with 300 BLK. If this is the most important feature to you (honestly, this is what sold me) then BLK is for you.
  13. Resurrecting this old post with some interesting news. DS Arms has a new 300 BLK upper at $320. People on www.300blktalk.com have given positive feedback on it. http://www.dsarms.co...fo/DSZM4CBU300/ Also, Midway and PNW are selling ammo for 12.99 and 12.49. I think that in the near future Cheaper Than Dirt will be selling the Remington UMC 300 BLK ammo for cheaper than 12.99 (just a theory) http://www.midwayusa...acket-box-of-20 http://www.pnwarms.c...px?productId=61 According to rsilvers on www.300blktalk.com there's a lot of new products coming in 2012.

    300 Blackout

I have a custom AR build with that 16 inch CMMG blackout barrel, and I'm very happy with it. I've put nearly 500 rounds of CMMG and Remington supersonics through it with no failures or malfunctions at all. There's no legal issues with it as long as you have the flash hider removed and replaced with a thread protector or muzzle brake. Either one needs to be pinned to make it compliant. There are companies that are making affordable 12.99 and 12.49 ammo. Remington is one of them, and it's sold on Midway right now. PNW is another one. I think that in the near future Cheaper Than Dirt will be selling the Remington UMC 300 blk ammo for cheaper than 12.99 (just a theory) http://www.midwayusa...acket-box-of-20 http://www.pnwarms.c...px?productId=61 According to rsilvers on www.300blktalk.com there's a lot of new products and companies that will join in on backing up this caliber. Cheaper alternatives are out there too. For example, DS Arms is selling a $320 upper. http://www.dsarms.co...fo/DSZM4CBU300/
  15. Yea that one looks really nice too. When I was researching .300 BLK I saw a few articles on Wilson Combat's project. I may buy one of those 7.62 x 40 WT barrels in the future too for one of my older uppers. I got attracted to 300 BLK because I noticed that Remington and a decent sized list of manufacturers were going to work on it. I'm also very open-minded to other options too. (off-topic) I really like that WT mdoular rail in those photos. Very nice. http://shopwilsoncombat.com/TRIM-Tactical-Rail-Interface-Modular-126/productinfo/TR-TRIM-12/
  16. Also, I think the cartridge only recently received SAAMI approval. I guess it would take time for the manufacturers to get it out there.
  17. Anyone here try one out yet? Happy with it? What parts are you using for your build? I tried doing a search of this topic on the forums, but I didn't find anything. Just wondering who else is trying this out. I'm gathering 300 BLK parts for my next project. I have everything for the upper receiver except a handguard. So far it's all CMMG parts, except for my bcg (a FailZero bcg). In theory all you need to do is change out the barrel of any ar15 to a 300 BLK barrel. You can also re-use everything else from an old ar15 (bcg, stripped upper, complete lower, standard magazines etc). In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, check out these links... http://en.wikipedia....(7.62%C3%9735mm) http://www.300aacblackout.com/
  18. Thanks guys. I'll think about those options you mentioned after I visually inspect all my bags.
  19. Hi I am new around here and to the hobby in general (just got my FID in april). I searched google for a few hours on this subject and couldn't find much on this. I figured you guys would know more than me. I have a few bags of dinged up, scratched, probably unreloadable mixed brass (45 ACP, 5.56, .223, etc). Are there any scrap yard type places or even gun shops in NJ or even NY area that will buy this stuff?
