  1. I'm not a fan of Bloomberg but what's wrong with this program? The city isn't forcing anyone to use them, right? Seems it would be good for a city and the people if done right.

They're not forcing anyone to use them YET. Once the program takes off and gets a foot hold, they'll find a way to legislate their constituents to use them. Smh

  2. At least they can't override a veto.

Here's where we have to focus energy on CC like a laser beam. I think in the short term, we have one effective tool. EVERYONE get to the primary on 6/4 and vote for Seth Grossman for Republican candidate. He's very pro-2A and fiscally conservative.

He has zero chance of actually beating CC, so no risk of inadvertently voting in a weak candidate who is vulnerable to Buono. But if we can create a significant bump in his numbers, it sends a loud and clear message to CC that voters are watching and take 2A stance very seriously.

    Great idea! I'm in

  3. The results on that don't even make sense.

1,343,157(75%) Says no regulation on guns of any type.

1,369,998(77%) Says congress should ban semi-auto weapons.

I agree this poll makes no sense

  4. I agree with blueline and holyhand. I wouldn't settle either. If you can't find what your looking for at your Lgs or online, when it's time to extend your permits for another 90 days, submit another application for another batch of permits. That way by the time your first batch is set to expire, your second batch should be ready or close to ready to be picked up. That should give you plenty of time to find the gun you really want.

  5. I have the p220 carry stainless elite and love it. It's a very smooth shooter because of its quality and weight. It's an excellent choice, you won't regret it. The only things I plan on changing on my Sig are the sights, because it uses a sight system that you have to completely cover your target to hit dead center, and the trigger, as my hands are large and the standard size trigger would be a better fit for me.

  6. My first 9mm purchase.

I did all of my research online via google, forums, youtube, and other sites. Narrowed my choices down to a few. Made my way down to the range/gun store and rented the few 9mm (glock, beretta, sig p226) pistols I was interested in. I concluded the glock 17 was the one for me, until I was offered to try the m&p. One magazine was all it took to convince me. The smoothness of the action and the feel in my hand had me sold. My first 9mm handgun purchase was the m&p 9mm f/s. Nowadays it's equipped with the apex duty trigger, streamlight tlr-1, hogue m&p finger groove grips, and is housed in a raven concealment holster. Though I know any of the firearms mentioned would've made an excellent 1st, they also make excellent 2nd, 3rd, and 4ths!

  7. A couple of problems with backfeeding your house through a receptacle.

first, if you do forget to turn off the main breaker in your home, there is a real chance of killing the guy working on the utility pole. Electricity is delivered to your street at medium voltage - thousands of volts - but the actual number varies. A transformer for your house steps this down to 240V for you to use. If you backfeed 240V to this transformer, it's stepped up to thousands of volts and feed back into the power grid. A lineman working on the "dead" grid won't know that you're feeding it with your generator. I won't do this because I know I'll remember to turn off the right breaker but if I'm at work and can't get home, I don't know that my wife will get the right breaker or will be sure that it's off.

Excellent point. During a power outage due to a storm situation, one of the steps a hazard responder will take is identifying the homes running generators on a particular grid. Generators not connected properly will make the meter spin backward and backfeed into the grid. This information gets translated to the linemen performing the restoration.
