  1. Agree, I thought about it too...Unfortunately when we submitted our apps we had no way of predicting what each judge would do...No way i am starting from scratch now, there it as least some value in having the permit even with restrictions. The only restriction which impacts me in any (material) way is the driving one. That is so outrageous it will never hold up. So what happens then, best case we do not have to do anything, the restriction becomes null and void - period. Worst case we have to go through some administrative BS (and maybe even get a lawyer) to have our permits "upgraded"....
  2. Of course, I think every know that...I want to know where we are with this. Now that it is with the Judge I'm going to call Nappens office tomorrow to find out, they are on retainer to handle quick Q&A from members of ANJRPC.
  3. I just got the call this afternoon from those fantastic Ladies working the customer facing office in the Firearms Department at Berkeley Township in Ocean...They sent my Permit Application over to the Judge today (I would assume bundled with apps from other gun owners). I couldn't be happier with the Job they did in both support and time frame. I dropped my application off 8/5, was printed on 8/10. So about 6 weeks soup to nuts...Given what is going on with the flood of new permits based on the SC ruling, I'm very happy with the service they provided. Mixed emotions now, happy the first phase is over but now the tough part. I hope Nappen and Dan say something about progress on the "no carry in car issue". On 9/11 at a seminar Nappen gave (I wasn't there) a friend reported Nappen was very, very, confident we would win over on this issue with an estimate of 3 week. Hope so!
  4. I signed up for LawShield last week, at $130 a year I just couldn't resist...But are you implying that LawShield is also participating in NJ to get rid of these carry-restrictions (I didn't think they get involved in such things)?
  5. That is unfortunate, we have many "dots" connected now to show that this will be applied to everyone (not that we really thought differently).
  6. Awsome, I would love to know what induced them to change their mind (suddenly) as it seems that Dan and company hit a brick wall and was advising on a back-up plan?
  7. Utterly mind-boggling...I am glad Dan gave Monmouth gun owners a heads up and some advise, but I'd like to hear more about what the ANJRPC Strikeforce is doing to fight this in court. Yep, gun owners will need to lawyer up in some counties, but I'd like to see the full force of ANJRPC on this NOW!
  8. Agree, they are totally out of control...Thanks for your comments.
  9. Traffic violation? Do you mean one that a person never paid, or is disputing, or...? I would image that lots of people have had traffic violations through the years.
  10. My PD told me no years ago when getting pistol permits...If someone has a statute/code saying otherwise, great, I'd love to see it and it would make things a bit easier.
  11. I give up, you are blaming this mess, spawn from 100 years of tyranny, on clerks and their immediate Supervisors at the very bottom of the responsibility/power chain which goes all the way up to the AG, Legislators, and Judges...Makes no sense to me but feel free to go down to the PD's that you feel are not doing their job and offer them some process suggestions. Let me know what you accomplish. You're just complaining here about the wrong people, so go visit them with your laundry list of complaints which you believe the clerks have some control over. Good Luck!
  12. Hum, not really, this is going to need some horsepower from the top like the AG and the legislators, and the only way that will happen is with attorneys either convincing them with argument before and if needed via lawsuit...The people who are administering our stuff in the PDs are just following the law...Additionally, on-line tools to facilitate entering our info and tracking it would be nice, but that will take resources and time to develop, neither of which the administrators we interface withhave any control over. The nice Ladies in my PD don't have control over identigo being a fingerprint monopoly (requiring up to 3 weeks sometimes to get an appointment and up to 2 more weeks to provide it to PDs). They have no power over what the judge does or how long the judge takes to do it, or getting rid of the judge part altogether, they have no control over how long Sarge and chiefy take to sign off, or why we need any references at all which all need to get called, etc., etc. You are barking up the wrong tree as the saying goes.
  13. Yikes! I can only speak about the staffers at Berkley, they are working very, very, hard...And I am sorry, I can't agree with you that the process lies on them to fix...You know they have no control over it... I am sure they are reporting to bossed about the situation, but it is up to the bosses all the way up to the NJ-AG, along with us doing our part with by contacting officials and making DONATIONs to ANJRPC/2A lawyers, and the lawyers like Nappen to fix it....My goodness, I am not going to blame the people on the bottom of this mega- hierarchy for a 100+ years of neglect on this matter in NJ.
  14. But this is exactly what happens when a basic right to SD against serious bodily injury and death outside the home is repressed for over 100 years. People want their rights back asap.
  15. I believe we are in the same boat...First I will say, Kim, Marcy, all the people in the customer facing room for firearms are doing a fantastic job given the situation. Always friendly, always helpful in things they can control... My 3 witnesses were all called as of 8/31. I was assuming a week each for the Sargent and Chief to sign off, and when someone posted a batch went out on 9/12 I was wondering why I didn't get my call. So I called the other day. They are very overwhelmed. And this isn't going to get any better any time soon so I do sympathies with those folks in the "front desk"... The fix is to drop the entire judge sign-off, with no more just.-need there is no need for a judge X-cases where PD doesn't approve permit and gun owner wants a hearing. This will give extra time for the PDs WHILE Lowering the overall start/finish time by some months. If I don't hear by 10/5 (2 months since I dropped off my app) I'll call PD again, but overall, a few weeks isn't going to matter and I hope by time the judge gets to ours the car-carry restriction nonsense is no more...The way it looks, the judge is going to be taking at least 2 months more likely 3+ for their interval. C.A.
  16. I don't think the process is known at this point...Best case, Nappin and co. strike a deal where all permits default to Non restricted (or at least non restricted for car carry)...Worst case, have to hire your own lawyer to get it changed, or apply for a new carry permit. i don't know. I think the problem is individual judge ideology, not a conspiracy else they would all be doing the same thing. Just MO.
  17. I just jumped over there to take a loki too. Totally unacceptable, well both Dan in emails and Nappin in his Sunday "sermon" this week said they are hot on the car carry issue, I am glad at this point mine hasn't made it to the OC judge just yet. I also read somewhere (maybe even here - lol) that OC has only issued 5 permits post SC ruling.
  18. Guns always in the trunk...But I do have my steel target stand in the car as they will not fit in trunk, guess I should cover them with a blanket.
  19. Yep, never voluntarily comply to a car/trunk search...One gives up important rights if one does so.
  20. Some judges are putting restriction on permits: The worst one is NO carry while driving, must lock it in trunk unloaded.
  21. A friend on another Forum went to the Nappen seminar yesterday. He reported that Nappen is hot on the carry in car issue and Nappen expects it to be resolved in 2 week given it is a 2A and also a Civil Rights violation...I don't have anymore details as I was not at the seminar, but if someone else was there they can weigh in...Really great news but we pretty much new it wouldn't stand very long given it is so crazy.
