  1. They ripped off thousands of gun owners after Sandy Hook. People paid ~ $750 for some high quality ARs on special, in cash, in advance, and the guns were in the store ready to pick up. They refused to let the owners pick them up.

They resold the same rifles (your rifle) for $2K to other people.

Now this somehow doesn't sink in for some of you. Let's forget the part that they took away an AR you already paid for during a time when you suddenly couldn't buy an AR for any price. Apparently that doesn't offend any of you. Let's try an analogy.

Let's say you buy $750 of Apple stock. The next day it goes up to $2000 and your brokerage says, "Sorry, we took that stock back from you, it's not yours." And they sell your stock to someone else for $2000. Does that register?

Many NJ people don't care if they are seriously screwed over on firearms so I took the firearms and the worst part out and just made it plain money to see if that will stick.

I hope their ammo has AIDS.

Some of us remember. Them and lower than dirt are dead to me.

  2. If someone had guns legal in PA but not in NJ, could they bring them into NJ if going to a NJ range (with the exception of "high capacity" magazines)?

Also (unrelated), if their permanent residence is out of state, but they have a residence in NJ as well, does the NJ residence count as a residence (if they have a NJ FID card)?

What do you mean by the bold  part in your op?

  3. Evan Nappen is underestimating the fecklessness of the Pubs in congress. I swear, those guys surrender faster and more often than the French.

Pres. Obama would never sign it, regardless. He would "shut down the government" , ie the national parks and monuments, stop the welfare and social security checks just like last time.

Baby got no shoes! Fixed income! My family vacation was spoiled!

Those phone lines to crying Bohner and Toby turtle McConnell will melt.

Everybody will blame the Pubs. Win-win. To play that game require balls. The Pubs won't do it again.

National reciprocity is another hope springs eternal dealios.

  4. It surprised me how heavily the filling relied on Heller and MacDonnald and went after the justifiable need requirement.

My pessimistic side says that even if Mr. Almeida gets his CCW, the court will grant it based on the circumstances of his case and not based on the broader issues raised by the filling.

Regardless, I don't see any downside to this case but see a lot of potential upside. If nothing else, it's another rock thrown at the wall. Eventually that wall will crumble.

Newtonian, if you didn't read the filling, you should.

  5. ...

I see no other organization doing anything as far as active litigation on the justifiable need issue in NJ, and I don't understand the reason for crapping on the one that is because it's not your "ideal" case

I'm asking because I don't know but is Mr. Almeida's argument that justifiable need is unconstitutional or should Mr. Almeida get a CCW because he satisfies the justifiable need requirement?

If it is the former, great for all of us. If it the latter, great for him.

  6. You guys have been helpful in the past with this question. Here it is again.

I'm currently in .22lr, 9x18 Makarov, .357 mag, and 9mm. I have the first three covered to my satisfaction in terms of quantity and versatility. I'd like to get a second 9mm but on these terms:

    * all steel, alloy, or alloy slide/polymer are preferred in that order

    * weight 20 oz or more. Heavy is ok. I do not want a light gun.

    * small enough for concealment -- signficantly smaller, preferably, than my CZ-75. I really like the size of my E. German Makarov.

I would not rule out a revolver btw, provided it meets the applicable criteria outlined above, but I'm not crazy about snubbies.

You already have the only gun you'll ever need: the CZ-75 :)

  7. ...

I think a lot of shops get understandably impatient with window shoppers. Guys who take up tons of time and walk out not buying anything.

There's a shop that has a sign that reads "we'll show a couple of guns. We'll not show you them all" or something to that effect.

    I thought it was funny.

And they are right. A window shopper doesn't just annoy the storekeeper but also annoys everybody else standing in line that already knows what he wants.

  8. Okay, let's attempt to bring this thread back on topic and keep it ouf of 2A.

This is what I learned from this thread.

    1) It's Okay to use corrosive primer ammo in your Mosin Nagant if you clean it well after shooting said ammo.

    ....

Pissing down the barrel, slamming  the action shut  and keep on shooting is good enough, just as its original owner did in Eastern Europe during the great patriotic war.

  9. I forgot to mention, I watched in my rear view mirror, he never left his car to go for a doughnut!!! Go figure!

For Newtonian,  my company had a service call 6 miles from the crime scene, so all my gas and tolls were paid as was my salary

for the drive up and back. I paid no sales tax, no FFL fee and no NICS fee. I got a MINT pistol in the box with 5 new factory mags and all of the

    accessories for a great price!

Arrggg! I was going to ask if any donuts were harmed during the transaction. :)

  10. It seems im in the minority. I think Amazon prime stinks. Every movie you have to pay for and most of the shows I want to watch are not covered or pay as well.

You may be in the minority but you're not alone.

I had amazon for a year before the price went up to $99.00. The digital content plain sucks. There's nothing there that I would want to watch.

However having the convenience of ordering a 50 cent widget and having it delivered for "free" in a couple of days can't be beat.

It's just not worth it to me at $99.00. But I'm in at $77.00.

  12. I'm also reading that a portion of our fish are going to China to be processed them sent back to the states for consumption. I am sickened.

Next time you at a shoprite look for their frozen Alaska willd caught salmon and see where it comes from.

  13. Officer smith should have checked the weapons condition and treated it as if loaded until he verified otherwise - rule 1,

and he should not have put his finger in front of the muzzle - rule 2,

and he should have kept his booger hook off the bang switch - rule 3....

But, who the fuck keeps a loaded gun in a sales display case at a gun store? What salesman thinks it's a good idea to hand a loaded gun to a customer - any customer - in a gun store showroom?

Idiots, both of then. Culpable, both of them.
