  1. They made a business decision regardless of the law. It's their business, their livelihood, their freedom, their prerogative to do so.

    I'm all good with that.

They made their decision, I made mine and told them about it, too.

The sad part is that very soon all this will be forgotten and "deals" from AIM will be posted here the same way that CTD and Dick's are.

  2. At this point I don't personally care about Ron's beef with NJ2AS.  He is free to start his own group and/or to mend ties with Frank so that they can work together.

My bigger concern is Anthony.  He and NJ2AS NEED each other.  NJ2AS needs the national exposure that his show gives them, plus the meeting space and facilities (training, etc) that go with it.  Anthony needs the business generated from NJ2AS giving him lots of exposure within NJ and drawing people to his range and encouraging them to take his training classes.  Maybe he and Frank don't need to be friends, but they need to work together.  Otherwise we end up with a situation like the GOP establishment and the Tea Party wing in the Senate dividing the party on the whole and accomplishing nothing.  The other side will run all over us while we're busy infighting.  Let that crap happen privately...both Anthony/Ron and Frank are at fault for taking it to public forums and it needs to stop.  I can personally talk to Frank and try to convince him.  Is anyone on the other side willing to personally reach out to Anthony?  I don't mean sending him an email saying, "you should take it offline."  I mean getting on the phone or visiting him in person and talking to him about it.  Tell him how much both of them are dividing and upsetting the 2A crowd in NJ - NJ2AS and non-NJ2AS.  NJ2AS can work on changing its approach at a later date.  First we need to iron out this division.  I'm willing to go all out to convince Frank the things I suggested above.  Will anyone else pledge to work and push them on Anthony?

Just for the record, I was talking about the "Shame wall" fb page not anybody else.

Congratulations to the list of names below for making the monthly SHAME WALL!

    ...

Wait....folks are upset at being listed on a Facebook page that has 44 friends??? Besides, who knows how may of the 44 are legit.

And instead of getting upset at "shame wall',  they are getting pissed at NJ2A? Come on, now, let's chill out for a sec.

You guys understand that you're giving "shame wall'' way more exposure than they could ever hope for.

They are nothing, a nobody. Ignore them.

  4. Get yourself a tackle box and start collecting cleaning supplies. As your gun collection grows, so will your stock of stuff. You really don't need all that much stuff. Here are the basics (I'm sure I'll forget half of them, but it's not that big of a deal.

    Qtips

Cleaning rod with handle (short for pistols and a long one for rifles- solid brass or fiberglass are better than screw together type)

Cloth swatches (I like cut up cotton t-shirts and clothes)

    Cleaning mat

    Hoppe's #9

    Gun oil

    Bore brush for each caliber

A dental tool or similar for nooks and crannies

    That will do most jobs.

You can expand with lead removal rags, silicone rags, boresnakes, whatever.

    This.

Don't buy a kit. Buy individual items as you need them.

Buy solvent in large containers and gun oil in small. A couple drops go a long way.

Cross use stuff you already have. Any rag can be used as cleaning mat. Dry bike chain lube works fine as gun oil.

  5. I've called about 7 junkyards in the Newark area, none of them have anything.  One guy said he could order steelies for me at $175 PER WHEEL so I obviously declined.  Another guy said he just sold a set of stock wheels for my car last week at $500 for the set, but those are alloys and include the TPMS, so that's not totally crazy.

Have you tried the used tire place on Rt21&South St. in Newark?

There's a couple of similar places in that general area. They have plenty of hubcaps. Don't know about tires.

  6. Well, NJ has finally done it to me.  I am moving out of state.  PA to be exact.

    ...

I am only moving 15 minutes into our neighbor to the west.  That 15 minutes is getting me freedom, a house on 15 acres for half the cost of my condo in Jersey City and real estate taxes that are a third.

    ...

    ....

..., but the state won't be getting my income tax, real estate tax, nor fees for purchases of firearms.

My first purchase when I move to PA is going to be standard capacity mags for some of my neutered guns.  Because F U (NJ government) that's why.

I envy you in a way you can't imagine.

    Good luck.

  7. I did in fact call an attorney and was told the same information aside from the Manufacturing issue.  The attorney said it was a grey area as well.  He stated there is no case recorded in NJ where anyone has ever been tried and convicted of this to his knowledge.  He also told me that it could in fact be used loosely if they really wanted to try and convict someone for this.  But they would have to prove you were trying to sell it or mass produce it and that it was not for personal use.  They would also have to prove you were going to commit a hanus act or crime with it.

And they would also need to prove that you whole heartedly knew you were breaking a law or trying to avoid laws by doing it,  so just like the grey area works for the state it can work for you too ....  That is the only protion of all of this that makes it grey is that one word in the Firearms Laws that defines Manufacturers

You definitely should not take advice from the NJSP. They are the ones who will arrest you for any violation of the law. If you wish to do that, I suggest that you get it in writing. Good luck with that. You would be best served asking the NJ Attorney General's Office, in writing, if you are allowed to complete an 80% receiver into a 100% firearm without a Manufacturing License, which is contrary to what the law says.

    Not the same thing.
