And yes, it is Taylor Ham!

Logistical question here. If I pre-order one and then apply for my permits, do I run the risk of the permits coming in early, expiring and not getting delivery of the gun? Just curious how to manage my permission slips here in the PRNJ.
Thanks!

Had to recite that during Thunderbird night when I pledged back in college, brings back some old memories!

Remington 11/87 20ga. 21" barrel.
Not for sale as my kids love it. Lol.
Thank you for the offer, if I can't find one to try locally I will let you know.

Good point, I did try some light loads in a very good OU, that fit her well, but still too much. I may need to find a heavier gun.

Good for them!

Good idea on the reloading, when I shot clays consistently I used to reload just to save a couple of $$, never thought of reloading reduced recoil loads. I need an excuse to get back into reloading!

I also have a Remington 11-87 12ga - super soft shooting as well.
I will check out the Tristar, but how do you know the youth model will fit, what if my wife is 6'4" and 290#?

Checked with a friend who shoots there frequently and he said it was close to $100K a year with a substantial initiation fee and vetting process on top of that.
The members also bid on areas to hunt deer, and the prices can get crazy but all of the $$$ from that is donated to charity.

Looking to get a gun for the wife, hoping to get her into shooting some clays with me.
She tried my 12ga 870, way too much, tried my 12ga Franchi O/U, again too much, tried a friends 20ga Citori, better but still too much.
I was thinking about a 20ga semi-auto, perhaps a Beretta A400 or Winchester SX3?
Any suggestions? Not afraid if she doesn't like it, as I have a 14 year old son who would use it if she doesn't like it.

Not exactly sure, but I hear it is pretty expensive...

As mentioned above, Griffin and Howe has a range out to 900 yards, up in North Jersey.

Welcome aboard! I used to shoot at Cherry Ridge many years ago, I actually grew up right down the road from the range.
Gota love Taylor Ham!

To get back on track, women terrorists are usually much more brutal than their male counterparts. They feel they have to "prove" themselves.
That may help explain the Apache Women...

Looks like there was a mosque shooting in New Zealand, 49 killed. From what I read the shooters filmed and streamed the shooting in Facebook or some other social media.
In an even more disturbing note-, apparently the gunmen left some sort of manifesto, and purposely used guns in order to stir discord in here around the 2nd amendment-
"In his manifesto, he identified himself as a 28-year-old man born in Australia. He listed his white nationalist heroes, described what he said motivated him to attack, and said he purposely used guns to stir discord in the United States around the Second Amendment"

Does anyone know if the NJSP are using the online system yet, specifically the Hamilton Barracks? My town doesn't have a local PD so I go through them.

I replaced a Vermont Castings natural gas grill with a Weber Summit S-470, Spent a little more than I ever thought I would on a grill, but could not be happier with it.
I have installed Lynx, Napoleon, and Viking for customers and don't think they are 2-4 times better in quality compared to the price jump.
Thanks, I will take a look at each.

Not sure on a budget, we have my budget and the wife's budget and the actual number is somewhere in between. I was figuring on at least $1K for a decent unit.
It will be on my back deck so I don't know how much I can build out.

Time to replace my gas grill so I was thinking about going with natural gas. I have a gas dryer right by the deck so the run is simple.
Any suggestions on a solid, reliable make/model? I do a fair amount of BBQ so I would prefer a decent sized, quality unit.
I had done this in my last house and I bought a propane BBQ and then purchased a conversion kit, ran flex copper tube, shut off inside, etc.
Thanks!

Interesting, and I was going to put in for a permit anyway, I guess I will be trying it sooner rather than later.
529 College Savings Plan
in General Discussion
Posted
Went with the Nevada plan through Vanguard as well, since there is no real advantage to go with the NJ plan.
Have 1 daughter in VT and a second daughter going into Towson. First I would recommend saving as much as you can in the 529, you can always use one child's account to pay for the other so there should be little chance of over saving.
Use online resources or Naviance to find out where your child is on the acceptance continuum based on grades and SAT/ACT scores then apply to colleges in tiers, with the tier being schools that your child is well qualified, even over qualified for and acceptance is almost guaranteed, next apply to a few schools that are about right for your child's grades and scores and lastly, if you want apply for a couple of reaches. You may get more grant $ from schools that you are well qualified for.
Private schools can cost more in general but typically award more grant money, especially if your student is well qualified so apply for both private and state schools.
Encourage your child take both the SAT and ACT, they may do better in one than the other and there are tools to cross reference the scores.
We found many out of state schools that were comparable to in state schools once you figured in the grant $$.
Good luck and feel free to ask questions.
