Here is the basic wording I used for most of the letters, I added more for the .50 cal ban noting that statistics show large calibers are not a gun violence issue , in the subject of the email I put - As a NJ Voter I do not support your legislation
Dear Assemblyman/senator,
I am writing to let you know that as a law abiding NJ resident that I do not support your legislation that [copy and paste specific legislature wording here]
As a recreational shooter I believe New Jersey already has laws that are more than adequate. As a matter of fact, these existing laws already make it quite difficult to exercise our second amendment rights as citizens of the United States.
Please also note that I will not vote for or support any state legislator that supports these laws. The facts show that these laws will not have any measurable impact on gun violence but will only further restrict law abiding gun owners.
Sincerely,
Joe

HI Everyone,
I started reaching out to each of the sponsors of the recent NJ anti-gun bills and thought I would share a consolidated list of contact information.
I have been e-mailing and will start faxing and calling each sponsor next week letting them know that as a NJ resident I don't support the bills and will not vote or suppodt any member of the NJ legislature that votes in support of these bills.
Here is a repost of the bills with the contact info for each sponsor, figured since I already did the leg-work I might as well share.
If anyone wants a copy of the letter I drafted let me know and I can post that as well.

Thanks everyone- I have been calling, emailing and snail mailing my state and federal reps every day. I like the idea of reaching out to Reid as well!

I waited even longer than 2 years and NJSP told me that all I needed was a change of address. I did have to fill out the mental health release and a history of where I lived for the past 10 years and pay the $18 fee.
Granted I applied on 12-19-2012 and my FID is not in yet.

Welcome aboard!

I still think it wouldn't hurt to keep sending him emails, letters and phone calls telling him that if he keeps sponsoring these bills that we will vote for someone else even Booker. Not that I voted for him in the first place but just to make a statement.
He keeps pushing the fact that he wants to leave on his own terms, and that Corey Booker can't just walk in and have his job. Let's just keep reminding him that if he continues pushing these bills that he won't have a choice and will be voted out.

Since we don't have a local PD I had to go through the NJSP. I went through the Hamilton station, which was the closest.

Unsubscribed today!

35 days and counting for a FID change of address. Called the NJSP just to check on the progress and was told that everyting is in order they are just waiting for the background check to come back.
Hopefully I am getting close

Got the same response from Menendez but got this from one of my state senators
Dear Mr.
Thank you for your e-mail. I was raised in the South and my father as well as most of our friends and neighbors were gun-owners and law abiding citizens. My dad gave me a 22 caliber rifle when I was about 14.
I am not inclined to go overboard in enacting useless laws on this subject.
If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
Sincerely,
Senator Samuel D. Thompson, Ph.D.
12th Legislative District
