I had an idea of permenatly welding the magazine in place and adding a pistol grip, but I dont know if you could load the mag with bolt held back...anyone have one and want to check this out for me?
-
If I may, why the switch from the akars to the tws?
it may seem silly but the primary reason is because I get about an inch or so more rail space behind the optic with the dog leg which I am trying to use for a side back up sight

Is this a long range rifle?
How many times magnification is that scope?
its a 1-6x variable designed for the 7.62x39 round. just released about a month ago by primary arms. it has a bdc reticle out to 500 yards

did you start with a saiga that already had a pistol grip conversion, or was it in its original form?...did you start with a Barreled receiver?
edit: looking at that one pic. ill be checking out rifle dynamics
It was a barreled sporter with no pg and trigger group moved back

Quick search and here's your answer on the build. All the parts are listed to build your own.

I do have to say it does look nice. There seems to be some modifications since the user posted up the parts though.
yea, I did change a few things around, replaced the Midwest industries handguard with a damage industries handguard, changed to a variable 1-6 optic, replaced the parabellum armament akars rail with a Texas weapons system dog leg and cut off front sight post plus shortened the barrel oh and got rid of the wireless tac light grip. I've been meaning to post some updated pictures but I figured id wait till my offset backup sights are done, I'm in the middle of some major mod work to try and work out a 45 degree back up system, really excited about that and I'm just about done, ill do some proper pictures in the ak pic thread once I'm done

I don't where you located, but if you anywhere near Somers Point/Mays Landing area I can cut you off a couple of pieces, I have a 100 or so sq foot roll

how much square footage you looking for?

pardon me for the quick hijack..how do you like that VLTOR setup?
absolutely love it, I think its the sexiest rail around. the only drawback was I had to do some surgery to use my Adams arms piston. I love that you don't need proprietary hardware to install a handguard, its just a quick delta ring hookup. it can be tricky however if you're into cowitnessing irons with optics, but there are plenty of solutions out there, I decided to go with the 45 degree irons.

Very sweet setup, this is eventually what Im going for, scope with a small red dot on top. Can you tell me where you got that red dot scope mount? I know burris sells one for about $75 I think.
Thanks!
its made by gg&g, I think its called the b-comp , Do a quick search on ebay for gg&g b-comp they run about 50-60 bucks. they don't advertise that it fits the vortex red dot, but it does, the vortex has the same base as the trijicon rmr

Looking to spend a little less? Try these:

I can vouch for these.... they are excellent. no problem making hits at 300 yards at 6x, I don't have access to bigger range, but I've read reviews with success out to 600 and beyond. the 1x is very effective as well and can be used as a red dot for up close, although I do prefer to run a micro red dot on top of mine and just leave it at 6x at all times. I would have to say the best part is the accs reticle, very sweet design with reliable hold overs and bullet drop with m193 ball ammo.

OP, is it possible to make it an S shape instead?
This will possibly make it look like its NOT continuos 30 caliber ghost mag. (Very dangerous)
tried it, looked really silly

I have reconsidered the lawyers and all that nonsense. I guess I was just trying to please all the naysayers. I absolutely 100 percent believe that there is no argument as to whether these are legal. the one sentence in an otherwise encyclopedia sized chapter of gun laws that deals with high capacity magazines is probably the most coherent and to the point definition of the bunch. in fact I would feel more comfortable explaining this to any Leo rather than your pinned 30rd full body that everyone is walking around with. and to all those that say this is impractical or that I haven't solved anything, I would love for you to show me a way I can carry 30 rounds in mag pouch designed to fit a single magazine.
-
I have decided to retain a lawyer and run this through njsp as some of you have suggested. does anyone know what kinda time frame I can expect as far as them giving me something in writing? I am eager to start listing them on the marketplace.
-
Aren't these regarded as legal?
Don't see what the debate is imo. You have to drop the mag after 15 RDS therefore its not continuous.
finally..... some logic
-
I'm assuming you hacksawed the 30 round magazines in half before you crossed the border into NJ right?
Sure did
-
I actually tried your method also but decided against it for 2 reasons, it failed my drop test and second I hated having the bump in the middle that the base plates give
-
direct from title 2c chapter 39 . "Large capacity ammunition magazine" means a box, drum, tube or other container which is capable of holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition to be FED CONTINUOUSLY and directly therefrom into a semi-automatic firearm.
-
at the end of the day its nothing but a magazine coupler, I am absolutely not the least bit concerned with its legality.

not a bad deal, but a quick google search for reviews of the website shows some sketchy practices, can anyone vouch for them?
