  1. I just purchased a Bushmaster A4 from a South Jersey gun shop.

Per the list below that I found on this forum. "Bushmaster assault rifle" is listed as banned!

I this is true, How could they sell it in NJ????

It also has a fore grip that is part of a Surefire light setup. Is this also legal or is the fore grip considered as another bad "feature"?

    Thanks for your advice.

  2. I sent the text below to every Assembly person on the new committee.

    Dear Assembly Member,

In a stunning display of disregard for the rule of law, on June 6th Democrats halted a roll call vote-in-progress on this bill
in the Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee, when it became apparent that they did not have enough votes to pass the bill.
Rather than complete the roll call as required by legislative rules, chaos and confusion ensued as the committee chairman and staffers
simply stopped the vote and huddled in an adjacent room before announcing that they would ignore the vote and "hold” the bill.
Republican members of the committee protested the unlawful procedure and argued with the chairman.

I am a law abiding citizen of the State of New Jersey. I am also an active voter in all elections. Please read the laws of the State of
New Jersey before you cast your vote as it would clearly be an illegal vote. Your actions, should you proceed with this vote, will be unlawful.
The results will be challenged and hopefully, those who participated in the unlawful vote will pay dearly in the next election.

If you decide to vote knowing that procedure has been ignored, I ask that you vote NO!

    Best Regards,

    John W. Brisbin Jr.
    Woodbury, NJ

  3. None of my references letters had to be notarized, nor any of the ones I have filled out for friends in Bergen or Hudson County. This is not a new rule just one being made up police departments and chiefs who want to make it as hard as possible for civilians to own guns.

Don't get it notarized contact NJ2AS or NJSP either one should be able tell local leos that they aren't allowed to make up new rules.

I just filled one out for a friend 2 days ago........No Notary requested or needed.......Must be a local PD trying to bend the rules!

  4. According to NJ laws, if you find an intruder in your house it would be easier to just kill yourself.

Sad but true! Governor Christie are you listening??? Do you care about the law abiding citizens who are leaving this state in droves due

to it's ignorance and undermining of our God and Forefather given 2nd amendment rights in the Constitution of the United States of America???

You alone can make a change. Defend the very Constitution you swore to defend upon taking office, and include the Second Amendment!

I don't know what your future political aspirations are, but I for one will cast any future vote for you based on how well you upheld my 2nd amendment rights

here and now in New Jersey! This state, as well as the entire nation is watching. The future of this state and your political future is waiting for an answer! What say ye?

  5. LMAO :) WTF kind of militia could we have when even sling shots are illegal. :)

LMAO Because he i so sadly right!!!! No slingshots! Also no mace or pepper spray for a woman to use against a potential rapist. Tasers are also illegal and you need a permit to buy a BB gun.

This State is out of control and I want to change it by putting people with common sense in political office.

  6. As a community we have done a good job of being vocal from e-mails, faxes and phone calls to rallies and counter-protests. Members of this forum, the NJ Second Amendment Society and other New Jerseyans that care, are standing up and telling Trenton that we are tired of feel good legislation that will not be effective.

Some of us may question the effectiveness of writing e-mails and sending faxes to communicate our disapproval of proposed gun laws. Please don’t stop. Keep up the good fight. Having said that, one can argue that by the time a feel good piece of legislation is introduced, it is too late to effect change. I say this because we truly win when we get the right elected officials to represent us. In other words, we are always playing defense, and we need to start forming an offensive strategy.

The time to get involved is now. People may question whether there is momentum moving in our favor in New Jersey. I for one think we do have favorable, albeit slight, momentum to at least fight off what is currently being proposed. Whether or not you agree, you have to ask yourself, “If not now, when?” “When am I going to really get involved and be and advocate for myself and others to shape the future of our great State and Country?”

With a very popular incumbent Governor, general dissatisfaction with Trenton and with a very passionate firearm community, we need to mobilize and get voters out in a non-presidential election year. For past elections, when you look at the numbers by district, we are not talking huge landslide victories for each assembly and senate race wins.

My challenge to all reading this is simple, go out and get at least 10 people registered to vote. Make them as passionate about the topics frequently discussed on this board as you are. In turn challenge them to get 10 people registered to vote. Don’t stop there; make sure they vote on election day. This goes for folks already registered. I have included the link to new voter registration forms for each county. Make it easy to help your fellow supporters get registered. Print the forms in advance. If they say that are not register hand them the form. Get them to fill it out on the spot. Better yet pre-fill some of the sections for them. No postage is necessary. No excuses. Who will accept my challenge?

This is how we begin our offensive strategy. This is how we win.

    http://nj.gov/state/...tion-forms.html

You make a very good point Donato! The fact that there is no Presidential election this year historically makes for a low turnout. The pro 2nd amendment voters, afraid of loosing their guns or further restrictions on the same

will be motivated to go out and vote out the anti gunners. The anti gunners may have an opinion that shows up in polls, but, for the most part, this alone is not enough motivation to get them to go out and vote.

Those who back Obama and the mostly Democratic anti 2nd amendment politicians that want to ban so called "assault weapons" are generally the least informed, least educated and will vote Democrat just to keep their Obamaphones!

They will for the most part, not be voting en mass this November. If everyone here follows your advice, we could make a change. I for one, will make sure that all of my like minded family and friends vote in November. I will throw an

all day party at my house for all of my Democrat friends with plenty of booze so they forget to vote!

Just kidding about the party. I take our 2nd amendment rights very seriously though and I will follow your model as I truly believe we do have a chance, perhaps our last chance, to make a change in New Jersey!

  7. Hello,

A friend of mine just called to tell me he just got his FID and handgun purchase permit. He had earlier put a Sig 1911 .45 on hold at a local gun shop in South Jersey.

He went back today to pay the balance and pick up his new pistol and was instructed to fill out a form on a computer there. The form seemed identical to the one he filled out for the FID card.

He was shocked when told to come back in 14 days to pick up the gun. The dealer told him this law went into effect in December 2012 due to the shootings in CT. I can't seem to find any

reference to this new law on the net. Has anyone else heard of this???????

  8. You may wish to calm down before you give yourself a stroke.

v Pravde net izvestiy, v Izvestiyakh net pravdy. In Truth there is no news, in the News there is no Truth.

I wouldn't go worrying about media reports: heavy on infotainment and spin, light on facts.

I appreciate the stroke advice although I don't quite consider myself as a soon to be victim of same! I am not a conspiracy theorist.

I really don't worry about this stuff very much. I just don't trust the reporting as much is government manipulated or slanted toward the Politically Correct.

Coroner Confirms: No Assault Weapon Used in Sandy Hook Shooting

    Posted on January 24, 2013

    adam-lanza.png

An AR-15, or the so-called “Assault Weapon”, was not used in the school shooting. The shooter even tried weeks earlier to buy a rifle but was turned down in the background check. So he had to kill his Mother to steal her rifle. There were initial reports, right after the shooting, that police found the AR-15 in his car, NOT IN THE SCHOOL. The rifle was not used. The shooter went into the school with 4 handguns, NOT an Assault Rifle as the media has charged.

In the initial hours of this shooting, the Police said they found the rifle in the car. But the Administration-controlled MSM had a pre-planned attack already waiting, to ban so-called assault weapons and jumped on that line of reporting, knowing it was a lie, which included people like Piers Morgan who said the shooter used an AR-15 that shoots hundreds of rounds per minute, as if it were a machine gun.

  10. I swear I read an article that stated he only used handguns, I was wrong! I did further research and found this! I apologize!

    ** UPDATE **

    STATE POLICE IDENTIFY WEAPONS USED IN SANDY HOOK INVESTIGATION;

    INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

In previous press conferences, the Connecticut State Police clearly identified all of the weapons seized from the crime scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

To eliminate any confusion or misinformation, we will again describe and identify the weapons seized at the school crime scene.

    Seized inside the school:

#1. Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round magazine

    #2. Glock 10 mm handgun

    #3. Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun

Seized from suspect’s car in parking lot:

#4. Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun (seized from car in parking lot)

    This case remains under investigation.

    Lt. J. Paul Vance

  11. You seem to be the terribly misinformed one. A "long weapon" or long gun is a rifle or a shotgun. The video showing the cops clearing the firearm in the vehicle shows a distinguishable ak pattern long gun coinciding with the claim of a saiga 12 being found in the vehicle.

Stop spreading this foolish nonsense passing off as gospel before you make a further fool out of the 2A side. That exact argument is what makes gun owners look like nuts to the anti or indifferent pertaining to firearms.

By calling me foolish, are you saying that an assault rifle was used at the Sandy Hook Massacre? The facts as reported by the Sandy Hook Police state that semi automatic handguns alone were used in all the killings. That the .223

was found in the car but not used. Please explain yourself!!!

  12. The media still equates what happened in the massacre at Sandy Hook as an example to why we need more stringent laws against

private ownership of so called "assault rifles". I watched as the coroner at Sandy Hook conducted a press conference and stated that as far as he could tell, all of

wounds came from the long weapon. Meaning the AR15 that never left the trunk of the killer's car. My untrained brain tells me to look at the brass

on the floor near the victims and if it's all pistol brass, which it turned out to be! Shouldn't a trained Forensic Pathologist and County Coroner come

    to the same conclusion???

To this day the media is using that horrible attack to further restrict Assault Weapons even though no assault weapon was used in the attack.

Many of these false accusations are coming from the "Associated Press", I want to contact these misinformed reporters every time I read an article that equates the

Sandy Hook killer with the AR15 and inform them that they are mistaken! THE KILLER USED ONLY PISTOLS!!!!

  13. Really? Call 911? I'm sorry, but this is why we're in the state we're in right now! Harassing a person, searching him, locking him up in jail.. that's not bothering anyone because he's carrying? Could be a cop, could be someone (gun friend with family) that got so used to carrying he simply forgot to lock his gun in his trunk. I don't know how many times I drive 2-3 miles from my house on the way to NJ and have to turn around because I forgot I had my carry on me. I could end up being in the same scenario...law abiding, tax paying honest citizen that made a mistake and you'd feel great reporting me, ruining my life over a law that is actually ILLEGAL. Thanks...thank you for ruining the life of upstanding citizens that do make mistakes. You want to live with that? I know I don't!

Then what's the difference in the scenario above if he was pulling the tire out of his trunk and you noticed a gun in a case that he was transporting? How about several guns in cases? You could assume he's selling guns illegally and call the cops....once again, making the honest citizen a criminal. In NJ, he'd go to jail, ruin his life, be tied up with tens of thousands in legal fees and his life ruined. While you're at it, why don't you start reporting people that are speeding? How about out of date registration stickers? Wait...why not report anyone that goes through a RED light. How about people riding bicycles without a helmet? I could go on and on. Go ahead, turn over innocent people to the "Bloomberg's" of the world. That's what they want...be a good little soldier of the state.

This mentality of ..."call 911" for every darn thing just boggles my mind. Face facts, you're NJ brainwashed and bought into the system.Assuming someone is GUILTY before assuming they're innocent. That's what freedom is all about...This is how it starts, look at history.

I agree that if the guy had a holster, he was either a Fed or a LEO. I have a close friend who was a Border Patrol Agent and whenever he flew on a commercial flight, The feds wanted him to carry! Even if he was a civilian with a permit to carry in his state, and was illegally carrying in the PRNJ, why ruin his life with a call to 911???

  14. Without the FPID he can only take it directly between these places - home, range, gunsmith. With the FPID card he can basically have it in his trunk and go everywhere with it.

Pardon me as a noobie, but as I read the law, only a permit to carry would make you legal in your above statement to go everywhere with it.

    POSSESSION

It is unlawful to knowingly possess any handgun, including any antique handgun, without first having obtained a Permit to Carry, and it is unlawful to knowingly possess any rifle or shotgun without having first obtained a Firearms Purchaser Identification Card (FID), however, no Permit to Carry or FID is required: READ ALL

    • To transport such firearms as necessary for target practice, in the manner described in paragraph 2 above, by a member of a gun club organized in accordance with the rules prescribed by the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice in going to or from a place of target practice, provided the club has filed a copy of its charter with the Superintendent of State Police and annually submits a list of its members to the superintendent.
