  1. Primers have been popping up on MidwayUSA yesterday and today.

You need to do the "wishlist trick". Create an account, and add it to your wishlist, it will show in stock there, but not on the main page.
Big downside is most places are restricting orders to 1k now, which greatly increases the cpr once you add shipping, hazmat & tax.

  2. IMO R14 & CJR&PC are so completely different, it's not fair to compare them. R14 has a membership fee + hourly fees with limited hours of operation. Even as a member it was hit or miss if I was able to shoot that day. I'd be there two hours or more to get a spot, then be limited on how long I could stay. Some of the ROs were strict beyond necessary. They also have the set times for cease fire, etc... From what I understand things are even worse with the flu.

CJR&PC, you pay nothing extra. Hours are better, no ROs, much larger facility, covered pistol & rifle ranges, indoor range, etc.... If you are in a pit there's nobody else to worry about. If you are on one of the ranges, each member is in a sense an RO. If you need to go downrange, you make an announcement and the range goes cold. I have NEVER had to wait to shoot. Sure, some days are more crowded than others, maybe I didn't get the pit I wanted, but others were available.

THANKS alot.....so for laymans purposes...its $600 initial setup and $300 yearly plus taxes?!

Yes, the $600 is the one time contribution aka buy-in fee. Then $300 a year, there are ways to get discounts on that. You can spread the $600 out through the course of a year. The $300 is pro-rated based on when you join. Everyone's dues are Jan-Dec, so if you joined in July you'd be paying half of the $300.

We are a member-owned club, not a for-profit business. That is why the contribution fee.

Sponsors are not required. Members get a discount for referring new members.

You'd probably be looking at 4-6 month process at this point, unfortunately.

  5. I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV.

The way I understand it, your NJ FID will become invalid when you move. You can get a non-resident one. I'd suggest you do that if you want to continue to visit your handguns. I've only seen good things said about Gunsitters, but do not know details about them. Perhaps, they may have more information about your situation.

Another option, if your NJ residing friends/family are close/good enough friends/family why not transfer the handguns to them? You would need to be with that person(s) when you go to the range, but I'm sure it would be a much cheaper option.

Do you have the magnum receiver & barrel (3" shells) while shooting 2 3/4" shells?

20's operate at higher pressures because of the bore size. The 1100 has had a reputation as a reliable gun with a long track record. Sketchy ammo is always a suspect. Maybe you have a rough chamber?

I'd need to double check if it accepts 3" shells. I have been using 2-3/4".

  7. @Parker

I didn't buy it new, but as far as I know it's stock. I did clean out the holes using a drill bit & pipe cleaner. I also scrubbed the area clean (there was build-up) and put in a new O-Ring. Before I did that it would occasionally short cycle with some bigger name brands. After I did that it was much better, but still doesn't like the more economical Rio stuff.

I've read these shotguns can be picky about what they run.

Also, it's a 20ga. Maybe they are even more picky vs 12s?

I'll go through the article you linked when I have more time.

    Thanks.

More or less.  You can adjust the amount of shot, powder, wad and primer in many useful ways, but it does not increase accuracy per se, it's more like tailoring a shell to your particular shooting style.  Kinda like having your own bowling ball.  The Lee loader will get you whatever custom loads you want, but you have to develop them.

Honestly, I'm not a good enough trap shooter that custom loads would make much of a difference for me.  I just stick with replicating loads I like, such as Rem Gun Club or Fed Top Gun.

I meant for more consistent cycling in the shotgun, not accuracy.

Yep!  You can dial in custom loads that make your gun happy.   I'd stick within the range of published load data, but that should give you enough leeway.

If anyone is working up hunting loads, I've got an assortment of non-toxic shot, steel and bismuth, plus some wads (mostly fiber) I'll sell cheap!   Probably some shot shell primers, too.    I can put together a list if there is interest.

What makes them specific for hunting, just being non-toxic or the shot size/weight also? I'm just shooting clays, not hunting.

  10. Bringing this back to the top.

Midway has Lee Load-All II back in stock for $73 with free shipping. Seems a decent price in today's market. Availability of components is still a bit scarce.

I've got a question I did not see specifically addressed.

My Remington 1100 Semi tends to be a little finicky with some shells. I assume I'd be able to dial in a custom load just like you can dial in custom rifle loads, yes?

  11. Welcome.

For real, I'm not an expert.

Hypothetically: Part one, I think it depended on the firearm in question. Part two, no. Procession of any STANDARD CAPACITY magazine makes you a felon, unless you're a LEO. Fun fact, when the brain trust in Trenton first drafted and passed that law, they forgot to exclude LEOs. They needed to revise it later.

Chances are others will chime in at some point.

Side note, please stop using the gun grabbers terms. They are not high capacity, they are standard capacity.

IN NO WAY IS THIS A WIN!  The totality of what I know on this subject would take several paragraphs.

Several friends that are fellow #2AHeavyLifters have reached out to me and we're bouncing ideas & what-if's off each other.

Targeting out of state ammo sales...

Targeting out of state long gun purchasing...

Being able to turn-off your card electronically at-will of the Governor...

...and that's not even all of it.

Only a fool would think this is a "win".  Don't be a typical NJ gun owner and be satisfied as a Stockholm syndrome VICTIM!  Let the big court case make it's way through the system and celebrate when we really WIN!

    Rosey

Thank you for chiming in on this Rosey; I was hoping you would. I've been trying to find an angle I was not seeing that made this the victory NJ2AS was portraying it as.

  13. "Bull Rack BR6 Ultimate Package"

I purchased late 2017, used a couple of times. Too small for my needs. It's boxed up in original packaging, will unbox for pictures if needed.

Sells for $205 on Amazon, I'll take $100. Willing to entertain trades: ammo, reloading stuff, firearms (I can kick in cash), or anything else that interests me.

  14. Entire setup spoken for.

Delta 22-540 12" x 5.9" Portable Planer with or without stand and mobile base.

I bought this used, has to be 10 years ago give or take and I haven't used it other than when I first brought it home.

$40 for the planer, $40 for the stationary stand, $40 for the mobile base; $100 for all of it. Mobile base is Delta 50-345, they go for $60-$70 alone without the lumber. I will not sell the stand or mobile base unless the planer goes first. Open to trades: ammo, reloading stuff, firearms (I can kick in cash), or anything else that interests me.

Located in Western Monmouth Co, zip 08514. I have a pickup so delivery can be discussed based on location. I realized it was easier to remove it from the stand and dissemble the stand to get it out of the way, so it can now be easily transported in just about any vehicle.
