  1. For the 15-22, here's what I would do: Google Buffer Tube Sling Plates. http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=97 Google Rail Sling Attachment http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Rifle-Tactical-Rail-Mount-QD-Swivel-Attachment-with-QD-Swivel-BLACK-/140944021285? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magpul-PTS-RSA-Rail-Sling-Attachment-Point-Picatinny-Weaver-Rail-RSA/111188955305?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D2394357813490736794%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D130663654237%26 I ordered mine with quick disconnects so my two attachment points will have quick disconnect receivers.
  2. Those are some nice pictures FLHX!! jrfly, did you also receive an email confirming your order?
  3. I actually thougth it was cheap!!! All US Hardware and built by an american...if it was any cheaper I think he'd be making minimum wage. But as you mentioned it's for a good cause which is one reason I ordered so many. Even if they were $50/ea, I honestly would have bought them knowing a small business owner (esp a wounded vet) was getting the $$. I'm psyched to get mine, never owned a paracord sling before.
  4. I was on a platform specific site today and one of the guys posted this. I checked it out and just ordered 3 of them - http://www.gmc4x4.com/store/product/17-paracord-riffle-sling/ I know it's not for everyone b/c of the "tactical" look, but I like it and if I can help a wounded vet, you bet I'll order a few. Thought you guys might be interested!
  5. I'm glad I started my research early...that list is very short. I've heard CA will grant exceptions if you're willing to invest the time and paperwork; but I don't know how effective is. I'll have to search if MA also has exceptions...considering how short that list is, I'm hoping they do.
  6. Thanks guys, great info. Ogframer, that 60 day window was exactly what I was looking for. With the above in mind, when I want to go back to NJ (while I'm a MA resident) to visit, can I bring my firearms to shoot at the range with my parents? My FID has my parent's NJ address (they're not moving) and the permits I purchased the handguns with are all for that address. I will be a MA resident so I'm assuming b/c my current address will no longer reconcile with the NJ address on my permits i'll be out-of-compliance. Thoughts?
  7. Thanks guys for the responseses. Just updated my original post...I'm moving to MA. I didn't plan on bringing my firearms up there immediately. Is there a way to legally store these firearms in NJ while I'm an out-of-state resident? I'm still also very interested to the answer for my second question.
  8. I currently live in NJ and there's a good chance I will be moving shortly. With that in mind, my questions: 1) For the state I'm moving to, I have to establish residency before I receive my gun permits. During this time when I'm not a NJ resident, but I do not yet have my permits for my new state, what should I do with my handguns and long arms? My NJ permits have my current address (parent's home) and they also have their permits. I also did not want to bring my firearms up there immediately so I'd like to store them in NJ for a few months. 2) When I want to shoot my firearms in NJ when I come to my parent's home to visit, can I legally transport them to NJ and fire them at a range? I will still have my NJ permits, but my license will be from another state. My goal is to keep this all legal so even though I have no reason to be worried, I don't want one either.
  9. I was reading that NJ saw a spike in firearm permits in the month of May. Has anyone who put in for a handgun permit in May received there's yet?
  10. Got it, I had a feeling that was the case. With that in mind, S&W makes a 10rd mag utilizing their 25rd casing. They essentially put a pin in it, stamp 10rd mag on the side and it's a done deal. From what I understand, simply removing the pin with a tool converts it to a 25rd mag. In this case, it comes directly from the manufacturer as a 10rd mag and you need a tool for the conversion. Thoughts?
  11. Is it legal to stick this into a 25rd mag so that it's reduced to 10rds? I was not sure how "permanent" the restriction had to be... http://www.tacticool22.com/shop/smith-amp-wesson-mampp1522-10-round-magazine-restrictor-p-15.html
  12. Have you considered the Anshutz RSX22? It's expensive (~$800) but the barrell and trigger mechanism come from a world-renowned gun maker know for their accuracy. I've been looking into myself and the S&W 15-22. With that in mind, the factory/distributor will fix the collapsible stock (if you can't find a model with one) and it comes with a 10rd mag. I'm still investigating if there is anything else that would not make it compliant for NJ that I missed. Barrel is 16" and it's not threaded...so OK there.
  13. That's only on the first box....the price barely moves even if you order 50+ boxes. The hard part with the shortage is getting in an order big enough to cover the shipping. Otherwise, their prices on 22LR are pretty good compared to most.
  14. I've looked over the evil features and it looks like this gun is compliant from the factory - Anshutz MSR RX22 One version has a fixed stock, 10rd mag (factory) and the evil feature is the pistol grip. However, I'm having a hard time finding anyone in NJ that has one for sale or has shot. With that in mind, before I place the order to have it sent in locally, did I miss something...is this NJ compliant? http://www.anschuetz-msr.de/us/msr_rx22.html
  15. So far so good...they shipped everything out yesterday, should have tomorrow EOD. It appears to be a complete shipment too....
  16. I have more reading to do then...I thought they were. Makes sense. I think I'm going to ultimately go with an angled grip attached to the barrell. I haven't tried shooting with one yet, but when I've seen professionals shooting, it seems to be they are controlling the gun with their weak hand farther down the rifle.
  17. I'm new to guns (still learning terminology) and when I was reading the laws I was wondering if it would be classified as a forward grip. With how our laws can be interpreted, I didn't think it could be considered as such, but I wanted to verify prior.
  18. Are Magwell forward grips considered one of the NJ evils? http://www.cgwgun.com/Command-Arms-MGRIP2__CAA-MGRIP2.aspx
  19. They had a ton of 22LR earlier today...limit 10 boxes per item. It was only for a few minutes and then they sold out pretty quickly. Most of it was $3.50 - $4.50 per 50rds....$7.50 was the expensive stuff.
  20. Today they had a 10 box limit PER item. So if "xyz" manufacturer had x3 different types of ammo in 22LR, you were able to order 30 boxes. And then you could order another manufacturers ammo....it was essentially a free-for-all. All under the same shipping cost, which was only $22 after I stacked it up. So, they either had a big coding error today, or they're starting to reduce their limits on ammo. I checked a few other places today and noone really had anything in bulk, so I think I finally got one of those "lucky" days.
  21. I noticed that too. First box is expensive...but adding additional boxes cost almost nothing,.
  22. I definitely will, thank you for chiming in. Thanks guys. When I was reading about it on the state's site, I just assumed I missed something.... Now if only they made everything else this easy!!
  23. Awesome, that's pretty easy. Is it accurate to say there are no fees for this transfer and/or notification to the state/county/town??
  24. I found the form online for the transfer and it seems very easy, but I was hoping you guys/gals could confirm this for me. A family member would like to transfer a fairly new rifle he purchased to me. The rifle was purchased NIB in NJ (it's NJ compliant) and it has not been modified...we both have our NJ ID cards. With that in mind, other then filling out the transfer form and having both parties sign, is there anything else I need to be aware of? Also, are there any legal issues if I take this rifle to the range and shoot it without him present (prior to the transfer)?
