Lol... I’m still new to this.

I saw the DAA. Why do you like them better? Right now I see the safariland for $130. The DAA were much more then that.

The one reason I’m leaning toward the “open” style holster as opposed to a kydex is I really don’t want to put any holster wear on the gun. Like I said I’m new to this and speed and scores are really not a concern right now. My 3 main goals are have fun, don’t embarrass yourself and don’t shoot yourself.

If your concerned about wear then don't get the DAA it wears the bottom a little.

    Are you getting a 9 or a 45?

  2. Yes for limited, no for single stack.

I wouldn't recommend that holster for limited you would be better off with the DAA Racemaster. You can find them on enos used pretty cheap.

Above that I would really recommend getting a kydex blade tech holster with a tec lock, NOT A DOH HANGAR, and just shoot single stack.

They are divisions bud, not classes.

Because back in the 60's there were riots in Plainfield NJ and a bunch of M1's were stolen out of a factory. The answer was to outlaw them, problem solved.

This is the short of the story.

This is an important of history that everyone on this forum should learn.

  4. This Saturday there will be 6 stages of steel challenge. You can just show up and shoot pretty much any .22 or non magnum pistol caliber or you can pre register here https://clubs.practiscore.com/quinton-sportsmens-club-steel-challenge-1/register

Lots of fun, lots of $#!+ talking and lots of shooting.

We have plenty of shaded roofs and there will be EZ Ups over the shooting box so all you basement dwellers wont catch fire in the sun.

Best part is I will be there to grace you with my presence.

Steel challenge is the absolute best way for beginners get into "competition" shooting.

If anyone need anything let me know.

  5. Also Thank you for actually talking about guns on here. This is the only gun thread on here in the last 24 hours plus. This place is so far off the rails it makes me sick.

Any other questions about guns PLEASE ask and the few gun enthusiasts on here will be sure to help you out.

  6. There are literally hundreds maybe even thousands of "gun lube experts" out there.

The only thing you need is a quart of Mobil 1 10w30 or 5w30 for ALL of your guns. Put it on everything that moves and everywhere 2 pieces of metal touch each other.

A buddy is a member and I’ve been there it’s a nice place But he said a bunch of guys with full time jobs are fed up and not renewing their memberships because they’ve been members for 20+ years and now cant take their family for quality time on the weekends because the ranges are tied up both days every weekend for 11 out of 12 months with the new members pushing to make it their personal power ranger camp lol

Cool story brah please tell it again cool guy. How long have you been holding on to that post lol. Maybe they should have voted at the meetings where all the matches were unanimously approved by the club.

FACT TIME: there are always ranges open to club members during matches.

Back to your lonely comand post...

Well I'm off to bed, gotta get my 8 hrs, I have a long day of making a shit ton of money tomorrow at my manly career.

I will also add, as I've done countless times before, I have never heard of anyone being arrested for an "unreasonable deviation" going or coming to the range.

A very good friend of mine did get jamed up before the law was changed.  Now before you go assuming anything he is a very responsible driver and all he did was stop at wawa on the way home from the range with handguns in the truck. He was dressed like most of the IDPA guys do so its pretty obvious where he was coming from. Cost him 30k and 2 years of bull shit.

You guys and gals are ridiculous. I actually work at a Deli in South Orange so I am very familiar with the Taylor Ham vs. Pork Roll contoversy.

Also @Mrs. Peel thanks for letting me know about the shooting contests and such! I'm looking forward to being more involved soon!

Be careful not to call anything a contest or match, no one will show up.

Damn, I figured something gun related would be the thing that I did that pissed everyone off... but instead it's meat... I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

  11. Shoot a fucking match! That's really all that guns are good for in this shit state.

Seriously if all I did was go shoot some paper or a couple cans every now and then I probably wouldn't even have guns. That's about as boring as watching TV.

    Start with some steel challenge.

  12. Do it! No competition shooter uses carbine length gas. If its good in the competition world it's good for you. Longer the better, you really only need 4" of dwell time. It also makes the rifle more accurate because the bolt is not unlocking losing gas and moving the rifle around while the bullet is still in the barrel.

a little off topic but has anyone had experience in blocking HexMags 15 rounders to 10 rounds?  I got 6 hexmags that I bought which are 15/30 and just sitting tight on them.  If there are cheap conversion kits that meet the regulations of "permanently blocked" i'd rather just do that than buy new 10 round mags.

Call hexmag, their customer service is amazing.

  14. I use my Lee classic turret as a single stage but I can have more than 1 die in it. I just take the rotating rod out and turn the turret by hand. I just seat the bullet then do a light factory crimp for my long range 223 stuff and 308. There is a tiny bit of play in the turret plate but wayyyy less than my LnL has in deflection. I seriously doubt that bit of play has any affect on accuracy. All the rounds come out the same length.

  15. One evening, after the honeymoon, Tom was working on his guns in the garage.

His new wife was standing there by the bench watching him.

After a long period of silence she finally said,

"Honey, I've just been thinking, now that we are married, maybe it's time you quit spending so much of your
time out here in your garage.

You probably should also consider selling your gun collection and that reloading equipment.

Tom got a horrified look on his face.

    She said, "Darling, what's wrong?"

He replied, "There for a minute, you were starting to sound like my ex-wife."

"Ex-wife!?" she screamed, "YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU WERE MARRIED BEFORE!"

    Tom replied, " I wasn't

  16. I watch it for the laughs, I hope everyone who does watch it doesn't fall for the garage that comes from David mures mouth. He just spreads fear with made up lies and twisting words. For the last year the first story has always been the Russia investigation and what ever porn star trump banged 10 years ago.

I call them regularly just for fun and tell them in a polite way that if they keep up their weak propaganda the sheep will eventually stop believing it.

I called a few times this week and asked if they were going to report anything on the remains of the troops from the Korean War being returned. Of course they just said that its a good idea and they will pass it up the chain.

The number is 212-456-4040 they answer right away, no menus or anything. You should all call and harass them, it's more fun than reading the garbage on here lol.

  17. Judging by regeneration and people I've been talking to there is going to be a good turnout saturday. All the more reason for you to come out.

If you've never shot a match before then steel challenge is for you.

If you have shot steel challenge before then this is also a match for you because there will be 6 official stages not outlaw stages.

Here is a great video for people wondering what steel challenge is
