  1. Agreed and you'll need to patch in the riser to the new height.

Stair riser heights are only allowed to vary along a single flight by no more than 3/8" (from shortest to tallest riser) to avoid fall hazards. You might not care about the code measurement, but be advised that a different-than-expected riser height may cause someone to fall.

I really don't like the looks of that overlay nosing - it can produce a trip hazard at the top tread. What about having a nosing made to match the laminate that ends up flush?

  2. The amendments mean nothing read ANJRPC press release regarding it

I did - reprinted below in part:

PHONY "AMENDMENTS" DO NOT ELIMINATE GUN BAN

Last week, the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee passed unilateral "amendments" to A2006, supposedly to eliminate the bill's "unintended" ban on dozens of popular firearms.  The amendments were moved without any prior review or input from Second Amendment leaders

Unfortunately, those clueless enough to unwittingly build a gun ban into their magazine ban are even more clueless about how to fix the problem.  Our legal experts have carefully reviewed the amendments, and conclude that the "fix" fixes nothing - it just twists the tangled web of New Jersey gun law even more.  It has no impact on the legislation's ban on dozens of popular rifles - they are all still banned.

Do not be fooled by false claims that the amendments eliminate the gun ban - they assuredly do NOT.  They are crafted with an astonishing lack of insight into firearms, ammunition, and New Jersey gun law in general, and further muddy already turbid waters.   The gun ban within this legislation remains 100% intact, even as amended.

If the amendments had been effective, we would have been the first to publicly acknowledge it, as we did on numerous pieces of legislation last year and the "defaced" firearms bill earlier this year.   We wish we could say that the voices of gun owners, hunters and sportsmen have been responded to on this issue, but we cannot.

BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT BE MISLED BY CLAIMS THAT THE AMENDMENTS ELIMINATE THE GUN BAN - THEY DO NOT.

YOUR MASSIVE & SUSTAINED ACTION IS URGENTLY NEEDED!

  3. Response from Senator Joe Pennacchio, District 26

    Dear xxx:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding S-993, legislation which would reduce the maximum capacity of ammunition magazines from 15 to 10 rounds. As you may already know, I am a supporter of the Constitution of the United States of America in its entirety. That includes the Second Amendment, which is part of the Bill of Rights. Therefore, I plan to vote against this legislation.

This bill has passed in the Assembly, however, on January 27, 2014, S-993 was referred to the Senate Law & Public Safety Committee. I am not a member of this committee you may wish to write to the chair to voice your concerns. His address is as follows:

    The Honorable Donald Norcross

    District 5

    Audubon Commons Shopping Center

    130 Blackhorse Pike, 1st Flr., Suite D-3

    Audubon, New Jersey 08106

  4.

I once asked my sister-in-law, a straight-A graduate of a prestigious English college, what happened in 1066. She replied,'I don't know and what the fukc does it matter?" Indeed.

15 June 1215 as you say is a very interesting date too.   Next June 15th is the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Charta and there will be worldwide attention on the impact of this event.   Great opportunity to emphasize to the under-educated younger generation what freedom is and where it came from.   I will be involved in the 800th and will make a point in my community of calling attention to the anniversary and the impact of what occurred between Windsor and Staines, including its influence on the US Constitution.

  6. A2777 as passed contains no provisions for food or beverages -

    http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2014/Bills/A3000/2777_I1.PDF

For the purposes of this section, “deviations as are reasonably necessary” means collecting and discharging passengers whose transportation is permitted under paragraph (2) of subsection b., subsection e., or paragraph (1) or (3) of subsection f. of this section, purchasing fuel, using a restroom,  and contending with an emergency situation. A person transporting a weapon pursuant to this subsection shall comply with all other applicable State laws relating to weapons.

They don't care if you f'in starve.

    No definition of 'emergency.'

The direct implication is that anything else is a criminal act, whereas before there could be judicial interpretation of 'reasonable.'

  8. Cost of new correct size rifle bag:   $99.95

Cost of carrying upper and lower receivers separated in current rifle bag while waiting for new bag:  $0.00

Cost of legal defense for being in the wrong place with an 'evil collapsible stock' (because you might 'snap' and all):   $34,999.00

    You decide.

  9. Who is the idiot at 4:50 who jumps in and says something like "They probably, maybe won't, try to pass any more anti-2A laws next year because they passed this law (10 round limit) and once they get something done the issue tends to go away".  Really?  How stupid does he think the audience is?  Because they passed one law this year it will only strengthen the Antis resolve to pass more and more restrictive laws.  It won't stop then.  Just the opposite.  It will embolden them to push harder and harder.

    Exactly.
