I'm also interested in this system but all the parts and numbers is a little confusing to what I need when looking at the web site.
Is there a local store to go to that has stock of safariland products?
Can you guys list the parts, model numbers would be great, of what your rig consists of?
Thanks

I’m pretty well stocked up but couldn’t pass on this deal. Thanks.

Which unit did you go with?

I’m going to try and show up to check things out. Is there a place I can find the full schedule for steel challenge events at CJ?

Around here, you're not going to find a match past 300 yards and most are 100 yards max. Due to this, and my good eyes, I decided to run 3-Gun nation "Factory" division, otherwise known as "limited" or "irons" which allows one non magnified optic.
This is the way I was thinking of shooting. Although I not so sure my eyes are that good anymore.
Vortex seems to be a good choice. I think I messed up by not buying one when they were on sale before the holidays.

Ok I have an equipment question. What would be a good optic to choose for the AR? This question is not so much for what’s the best brand, but is just a red dot good enough or would I be better off with some type of magnification?

Lol I hear you. I’m a double espresso guy, never thought I’d drink something called a latte. But it’s so easy even a caveman can do it.

We just picked up a Breville Barista 870 a few month back. Doesn’t make standard coffe but great espresso and lattes. Nothing like fresh ground beans.

Very cool. Will do. I didn’t even know this existed, I’m fairly close to CJ.

Thanks all for the responses and info. Lots of good stuff for me to look into. I’ll probably checkout a few events first before jumping into anything. You guys gave me a lot of options. Now I have to look at steel challenges too.

This week is steel challenge (5 targets per stage, each stage run through 5 times). It's very beginner friendly, and while they'd like you to have 5 magazines for whatever you shoot (centerfire pistol, rimfire pistol, rimfire rifle, pistol-caliber carbine, each with or without optics), you won't need a holster or belt for the pistol events.
Sounds like a good time. I'm not against a road trip even if it is just to check it out and learn. Is there a website I can get some info from?

Haven't shot anything Lou. I read your posts and will definitely get down to checkout a few of your matches this year. Pick your brain a little to if given the chance. Since you've organized some events ill ask you is it required to have certain training certs?
Seems to be that I should start from the beginning with a holster draw, EP1 or such class. Same with the rifle.
-
Thx. But I was thinking more along the lines of what do I need for training. Is it mandatory to have? Or is there a class I should take before hand?

Lol.... you are wise beyond your years.

I’ve been checking out videos and articles on 3 gun competitions. It looks like something I’d like to get into. Rules I’ve seen for some say you must have certain training certs, some I didn’t see any requirements. So what should I do or be looking for to start my journey? I have no formal training but have been shooting a while. I definitely want to take some classes, but don’t want to waste my time/money where I don’t have to.
Thx,

If it were me I would NOT shoot it.

Is it or will it be possible to take a “tour” of UH? I’m considering joining but would rather check the place out first.

What yardage would the target be set up at to practice combat shooting?

This is what I put on mine. There’s different sizes and colors to choose from. I like it, but In all fairness I still suck at clays so my opinion may not mean much.
-
Shot a round of sporting clays down at Redwing this morning. Nice crisp day.

If he’s in Millstone Monmouth county he has to go to Hamilton NJSP barracks.

Received my email from SIG.
It’s in the mail and will be arriving home Tuesday.
Same as Gunnz. Took it to a FedEx hub. No problems. FedEx shipping it back directly to my house, requires someone over 18 to sign.

That's good to hear. I sent mine in Monday also, looking forward to a quick turn around.

Awesome, thanks for the info.
How is your holster attached to the belt? I'm looking to drop mine down and have it off my body a little.
I was looking at the USPSA kit or the model 6281drop adapter. Are you using either one?
