  1. This REALLY blows my mind. It's such absolute nonsense. "WHAT DO WE DO GUYS? THERES PEOPLE PUTTING APPLICATIONS IN!!!! SHIT WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!" "Calm down Charlie, were the government... We do whatever we want. Keep sitting on them." Yikes.
  2. Did you know that if your vehicle has been sitting but you keep it registered so as to avoid all the issues that come with that, and you don't go through inspection, when you finally do you only get a sticker for time remaining? If you wait until the time completely expires you get a new two year sticker? For example my inspection was due 2/21. Yesterday I decided that I would put old girl back on the road and I got a sticker for 2/23. Yes, that's 4 months away. Not only that but they tried to chastise me for not getting it inspected. If I had waited until 2/23, I would have been given a sticker for 2/25. Not trying to derail the conversation but NJ really is f'd when it comes to nearly everything government related.
  3. You don't have to refuse the permit, just vocalize that you refuse the restrictions, then lawyer up.
  4. I'm telling you when I did it they had very few appointments, I showed up and there was no one there. Place was literally empty. All the employees were sitting around on their phones.
  5. Lol but that doesn't change them, just makes them nonexistent.
  6. I think what the one guy commented is best. Do not agree to any restrictions. Vocalize your intent to sue.
  7. It's almost like fingerprints change or something. So freaking stupid.
  8. Wasn't 99% of this covered by Thomas? I don't understand how NY is getting away with what they are and I feel the same about any future infringements from NJ. These are the people who say they "support the second amendment" but easily excuse all infringements as "common sense measures". I absolutely despise those words. There is nothing common sense about any of the (gun) laws in this state.
  9. Heard back from Evans office, as long as I disclosed that I'm diabetic on my application there's possibly a very small risk but if it is denied, then I'm going to be stuck fighting it. So to be on the safe side im probably just going to do the jury duty. Thanks for all the comments. No need to further derail.
  10. LMFAO I photo-shopped Groucho Marx glasses on her back when Epstein turned up dead. I forgot that was on here.
  11. Yes, who's making my mortgage payment though? Think the bank will feel bad for me? No, again my concern is that if I use the medical excuse and then have to go in front of a judge for my carry permit, can't they use that against me? Example: Can't do jury duty becuase of such and such ailment, but you want to carry a gun? You see what I'm saying?
  12. I'm not dodging it. I quite literally can't afford to take a day off. Plus, I've done it twice in 10 years. I get one of these almost every year, it's just terrible timing right now. I think quite a few of you are misunderstanding my concerns.
  13. no idea. One of the questions on every gun permit application is do you suffer from a physical illness. I always answer yes, and that it doesn't affect my ability to use a firearm, because it doesn't. I'm more worried that me using it as an excuse for jury duty opens the door for it to be used against me. The thing is, its not a great excuse. Me taking a week off of work and not being able to pay my newly acquired mortgage is the actual reason i don't want to go. Yeah, i'm waiting for a call back.
  14. Here's a good one for you guys/gals, I just handed in my paperwork on the 8th and yesterday I was sent a summons for jury duty. I can not afford the time off to sit around on my laptop for potentially a week or more. (The selection process is virtual.) I tried explaining this and the judge denied it wanting a form to verify financial hardship. They did say I could be excused as a type 1 diabetic, but I would need a note from the endocrinologist. Finally! A benefit of having this disease. I could easily get that, but my worry is that using this excuse could put my carry permit in jeopardy. I called lawshield and am waiting for a call back. This type of timing would only happen to me. For those interested its Middlesex county and the assignment judge is Michael A. Toto. I'll report back with what lawshield advises me to do.
  15. Not a bad idea, unfortunately I actually have a full time job.
  16. I signed up for Law Shield and Anjrpc today just for this reason. I was going to anyway, but seeing as though there seem to be bizarre stories coming out, I'd rather have someone to call in the even that my application is affected.
  17. I did my prints first but my PD is very organized and noted they received them when I dropped off my paperwork. I followed the steps that were on Recoils website: Fingerprinting – All applicants must be fingerprinted for initial and renewal applications. Applicants can visit www.IDENTOGO.com to schedule an appointment. When scheduling, the applicant must provide the investigating agencies ORI# (contact your local PD for a number), a fingerprint service code (2F164B), and a contributors case number (Use the applicants last name, month, day, and year of application. Example: John Doe applied on Jan 8, 2022. Contributor Case Number: Doe010822.) Fingerprint results must be received within ninety (90) days of application.
  18. Maybe he doesn't anymore but I was at a seminar years ago and he said if you have a backdoor and it's accessable you better retreat out of it. Maybe I heard it out of context. Idk.
  19. If someone can prove that it seems like a removable offense. They don't want to do their job?
  20. I had to renew my Utah and took a "selfie" against a white cinderblock wall. They accepted it and now my Utah permit looks like a prison photo. Lol
  21. I know people who have carried in NY/NJ without a permit. Some people really don't mind taking the risk becuase they'd rather carry than be carried. I've personally carried at my business and on my property for quite some time. I was threatened with a firearm and since that day I've stretched my rights without breaking any major laws. I don't surf and I don't go to the gym. The amount of time I will spend in "gun free zones" isn't much to begin with. Again maybe when I'm doing something at my kids school, but my buddy is a cop there and he is always armed. I have cars without seatbelts and it is what it is, you're missing the point, if you have them why wouldn't you utilize them? Yeah I get it, varying degrees of risk and all...
  22. I don't cower in fear either but I've been in some situations where having a firearm would have made me feel a hell of a lot better. Especially at work counting money or selling stuff on craigslist and whatever. I don't understand why anyone would carry a gun "sometimes" or "when I feel like it". The whole point is to carry it at all times. I mean, to each their own and you're free to do whatever you want, but that's like saying you'll wear your seatbelt sometimes.
  23. For the situations that don't allow carry... I just ordered some universal locks to convert the bags but I'll probably still get a pistol case with a cable lock.
  24. I am interpreting it to mean exactly this. Sitting in the car would constitute carrying inside a motorvehicle. I'm not really so concerned with breaking a law as much as I am giving them probable cause to search and seize for no other reason than someone saw something. I don't know the law word for word, but neither do police officers. My point is, why even give them an excuse? The less people that know you're carrying the better.
