    SARS-COV-1 was the 2003 virus

    SARS-COV-2 is today's virus.

    They are not the same. What part confuses you?

    Colloquially, SARS refers to the specific strain that was from 2003. COVID 19 is not that strain. So just because they are both severe acute respiratory syndromes doesn't mean they are the same thing and that the same treatment would automatically work.

    Sums up the whole thing and how ridiculous the hype was despite there only being anecdotal, unproven evidence being used to tout it as a miracle drug. Sweden had to stop because people were going blind on the drug. In Brazil, they had to stop people people developed dangerous heart conditions. There's a large study with lower doses than what were used in Brazil but still higher than what people take it at for malaria or lupus. But as of yet, there's no legit studies showing that it works on COVID-19.

    Already proven not as effective as claims were made and side effects of the higher doses than traditionally used made it too dangerous to use.

    The pastor won because Northam didn't show up. Literally nothing to do with whether it was legal or not. They essentially got out of a speeding ticket because the cop didn't appear in court. So there's no precedent set and it wouldn't make it any easier for anyone else to sue if Northam decided to press the issue. 

    Title of the article is pretty misleading in that it makes it seem like the DOJ agreed with the pastor when the DOJ specifically said that is not the case.

    This isn't the First Amendment lounge.

    Otherwise I'd talk about how SCOTUS has ruled on it before, the Constitution specifies that during emergencies restrictions are legal.

    Not getting to live your life the way you want it at the expensive of others isn't un-Constitutional.

    If the price differences are between Online stores and BM stores then the reasons are much clearer.

    Most online stores never touch the item.. its dropped shipped so they add a very small markup since they never handle it at all.. they also need to keep up the sales to pay the terms account and use new sales to pay old invoices...

    Yea, I think online vs brick and mortar stores generally are a combination of these two reasons. Brick and mortar stores have to mark it up more. They have property taxes to pay on the stores. Utilities. Employees. Definitely not a get rich quick business when you factor in overhead. Online stores can avoid that necessary markup to cover that overhead, lower costs to consumers, get more guns out the door, and probably can buy enough per month to get a bulk discount.

    And one thing I think people tend to forget when they purchase online vs at the store is you are paying for the ability to get it now. You can buy a gun cheaper online, but you can't get it fast and now. I can go into a gun store, pick a rifle, and walk out 30 minutes later. Essentially it's a convenience surcharge so we are paying for their physical local presence.

    If parks are open, does that include WMA ranges?

    Based on what I'm seeing from ranges, no one is flat out opening up and they'd be the first to spread the news to the world we can come back. I know of one range who posted on their Facebook page they are going to ignore Murphy and open their range on an appointment basis as the feds said ranges are essential. Not sure if any others have followed suit.

    Looking at local prices, I feel pretty good about paying $50 for my last transfer/NICS. Charging $50-$70 for a transfer PLUS NICS just sounds excessive, but keeping the lights on isn't cheap.. I don't know how much manufacturers are charging gun shops, but I find it interesting that I can find a brand new rifle at one store for $1,150, then find the EXACT same rifle for $1,000 at a different store. Why such a difference? Is the manufacturer charging the first store more than the first? Or is the first store just marking it up more?

    If the NJ Assault Weapon restrictions went away today, and you were buying an AR tomorrow:

    • Would you still pin your stock in one position?

    • Would you choose a comp or brake over a hider?

    • Would you pin your muzzle device?

    • Would you buy yourself only 10 round magazines or permanently alter all of your mags to hold only 10 rounds?

    • Would you shave off your bayonet lug?

    • If you moved to PA or Florida, or any free state, and bought yourself a handgun, would you only by guns that hold 10 rounds or less?

    I didn't say every feature is a "scary' feature. I put scary in quotations because they are the ones listed and not my opinion that all of them are scary. 

    Other than my 15-22, no, that's my only AR. The stock is in the position it came in and I'm perfectly comfortable with leaving it as is even if I could change it.

    I'd still stick with my brakes.

    I think that's stupid.

    I have 5 round mags for my RAR and my LRR has a 10 round mag where rarely do I load 10 at a time. I'm not trying to get through as much ammo as fast as possible.

    I don't need a bayonet.

    I don't care how much ammo it holds whether it's 10 or 30 rounds.

    You know what would suck? If someone was able to conceal a rifle into a school and shoot off a grenade into a packed classroom or an auditorium.

    Yea, but we already see idiots with guns that are supposed to protect schools fail. And if the shooter knows who the armed guard is, why wouldn't the just target them first? According to the DOJ, of the 25 school shootings they reviewed between 2000 and 2013, none of them were stopped by a good guy with a gun. They stopped when the shooter offed their self or were taken down by a group of people. Not everyone is you. Not everyone would make the conscious decision NOT to fire on the shooter down the hall when there's a bunch of kids running around that could easily be hit by a stray shot. Four school shootings in 2018 were in schools with armed resource officers. 0 shooters were stopped by armed guards. Between 2016 and 2018, there were at least 32 recorded incidents of kids being pepper sprayed and at least 15 of students being physically assaulted. Thank God those dumbasses weren't armed. There are armed guards who have mishandled their guns in schools. Armed guards who let the students handle their gun. Guards who have left guns in bathrooms.

    It's a good intention idea, but in practice, there's too many idiots mishandling guns in school as it is. And I bet they all say the same thing. "Not me." "I'm responsible." "I've had training." So how do you tell the dumbasses from those who would take it seriously?

    Grenade launchers (which you can even still have if you don't have one of the other 4 scary mods).

    I get why they don't want people to be able to modify a rifle so it's foldable and compact enough to hide under a hoodie to walk into school with.

    You haven't planned for this type occurrence?  Also I do not mean the 'virus', I meant the targeting of ammo - 

    Want to ban guns - make ammo unaffordable.

    Molds, lead, heads, gas checks, primers, powder etc.

    1lb of powder is about 7000 grains - 9mm 147gr 3.8gr of Autocomp - is about 1800 rounds....+/-

    This is one thing I love about reloading. When ordering ammo is slow or there are shortages, I have enough supplies for thousands of rounds easy.

    One day I'll get into melting and cast and forging.

    It's interesting seeing such a difference in attitude between older shooters and younger shooters.

    Younger shooters - "All I had to do was pass a background check and get two people to vouch for me saying I'm not insane and won't shoot everyone up, then I can buy all the guns I basically want!"

    Older shooters - "I had to pass a background check and have a whole two people say they know me and say I won't shoot people.'

    Why am I here? I like shooting guns. It's fun. Target shooting is a great hobby. I don't need a grenade launcher to do it. I don't need to be able to hide a full size rifle under my shirt to do it. And I don't see anyone else who does either. I believe if people want to protect themselves, they should be able to do it. I just don't see why it's a big deal that some accessories which make it too deadly when irresponsibly used aren't allowed.

Because he had no shot at that point of winning and was just making an outrageous statement to stay relevant. The second a candidate running in primaries for president would say they want to take away our guns is the second they lose their bid. Most Democrats are fine with gun ownership, they just wish people would stop treating them like toys and take them seriously.

    And yet you could still buy rifles, you could still get handguns, you could still get shotguns. You could still enable yourself to fire lead thousands of feet per second. You could still enable yourself (with training) to hit a target over 1,000 yards away. You could still do just about anything you want. Just like in present day NJ, you could still own a gun easily, get guns easily legally, and do just about whatever you wanted.

    Grip looks a little different. Slighty rounded off. More textured area on the XCOMPACT for more grip. If you look at the XCOMPACT, there's a groove for ergonomics for your trigger hand's middle finger. All considered ergonomics upgrades by Sig.

    Slightly smaller barrel length (3.6 vs 3.9"). More concealable. They liken it to being a sub-compact length with compact-size grip.

    Straight trigger over the curved trigger. I have no experience with this but it's supposed to feel smoother.

    Different sights. XCOMPACT's sights supposed to be more visible.

    Nitro costs $100 or so less from what I'm seeing online.
