  1. Well I had ordered a Wilson Combat 14.7" barrel and had them "armor tuff" coat it in burnt bronze.  Looks awesome on the gun but I simply took for granted that it would have 1/2x24 threads.  Turns out this model (with 1:7 twist) was the only 5.56 they made with 5/8x24 threads.  So now I have to wait for a new muzzle brake to get here so I can have it pinned before finishing this thing.

Will be going with another surefire but in .270 cal.  Was the smallest brake with 5/8 threads I could fine.

There is one major difference. In NJ once a gun law is enacted it is never rescinded.  In VA anti 2A guns have been undone.  This has happened before. Laws like this were overturned in 2002 in VA along with other anti 2A laws.  People here are pissed and the next election will decide whether or not anti-2A laws will stand. If the Republicans take back the state, then the anti 2A laws will be overturned.  It seems to be much easier to make a difference in VA because the majority of the state is pro 2A and gun ownership is very high.

How does it look for Nov?  are there enough local seats up for re-election for conservatives to take a majority?

  3. Actually, yes.  Noticed much more activity this year around our home. Wonder if it's the mild winter we had?  We see more of everything this summer including larger animals as well.

Plus don’t they get NICS report before issuing the permit? So our excellent system is redundant and useless...what’s the point of wasting so much (tax) money just to fake the gun control?

No, NICS is separate from your permit.  A NICS check must be run at point of sale for each purchase.

alright so finally after all this wait, I got permit in hand! Awesome...Called my FFL dealer and he said they need to check with FBI criminal database and It would take 12 to 36 hours...is this true? I thought that shit done is online nowadays!

NJ NICS system at its finest.  Still have to run a NICS for each purchase even with a P2P.  I put one in on Saturday AM, didn't come back until this morning.  And now i've added a PPQ to the collection.

    @Shepherd9

How is that radial lower working out for you, get it together yet?

Not yet, still waiting on the upper/handguard from Radian.  It was supposed to be a 4 week lead time but was advised covid increased that. Going on 7 weeks now.  Hopefully soon, everything else is pretty much here.

  7. I'd definitely put a few more rounds through it before making a decision.  Walther makes a great gun but it's really up to your preference especially when it's your money and your permits.  The Shadow 2 has been an amazing gun but I prefer a striker fired gun for home defense.  My Shadow has been running strong for the last year and a half with many rounds fired.  It has a couple FTE when the extractor gets a little too dirty.

It will be a test and tune match to knock off the rust from being grounded by the governor.

Perfect!  I think we all could use the chance to brush the rust off.

  9. As a dog person (obviously, see avatar) this is very sad to hear.  But as some have touched on already... pitbulls are not a "killer" breed of dog.  Despite what they have been forced to do by people, they are an amazing breed and one of the best pets society could have.  Shit people create shit dogs and that usually leads to tragic endings.

The folks here salivating at the thought of gouging out there eyes and killing the dog are disappointing beyond words.  I don't care what breed you have or what your preconceived beliefs of breed behavior are, there is far more science and education out there proving it is our (human) interaction that creates the issues, not the breed.

I feel terrible for the child... and now also for the subjective view of the breed as a result.

  10. Light clean (field strip) after each trip to the range.  I don't go too crazy with it, just get most of the crud out and inspect everything for function and integrity.

Everything gets the occasional deep clean after several range trips add up on them.

Or during pandemics..... deep clean everything twice while waiting for ranges to open.
