I finally decided to just go with a simple rifle build with a 16 inch barrel...

Once I took a step back and really considered everything it came down to this. What was I getting out of a pistol or other build, and what did I get out of having the shortest rifle barrel I possibly could?

The biggest attraction to the "other" build for me is not having to pin stocks and muzzle brakes.  I can adjust my stock to my different preference for shooting prone, or bench or standing, etc.  The non-pinned muzzle device is a big plus if I want to change hand guards, gas block or barrel in the future.

Minor benefits to some but certainly appealing enough to me.

  2. All good info on this thread.  Definitely pay attention to all the particulars when assembling your "other".  The 10.5" barrel makes it tricky to get the extended buffer tube and hit 26" while not exceed length of pull.

11.5" or 12" barrel would give you some leeway in selecting components.

I was out on the patio last night around midnight.  I heard some rustling in the bushes.  It was either a racoon or the virus.  I'm pretty sure it was the virus.  It floated over to the neighbors yard after a minute because I was wearing my short shorts and Def Leppard half-shirt.

So the curfew is for a good reason.  It is out there at night, just waiting for a new victim.

Def Leppard half-shirts or front-tucked Confliction shirts are the best defense against this virus.

Hopefully they learned the lesson of the NYC case to always claim damages so the case can’t be looted.

Thats what I'm hoping.   I'd think their legal council would be aware of that.  With a private club (membership driven) im wondering how they claim that, but sure there's a way.

  5. ANJRPC sent out the same info just a short while ago.  I bet CR is going to be crowded on Friday.  I'll be there early with a trunk full of fun.

On another note... it's sad that we have to "beg for our rights back" so to speak, not that i'm surprised in this state.  The only thing that would feel good about any of this is widespread court rulings that strike down all these Governor's orders.  At this point if they voluntarily opened everything up it will still be a loss for all of us that they got away with it for two months.

    Holy shit! I just looked it up - that’s a $375 lower.

    Jeebus!

No, no, no.  Like I said earlier, includes the talon safety, take down pins and all mag/bolt catch hardware.  So it's more like a $295 lower!!!!!

Totally worth it and don't let my wife know.

I need another lower like I need another hole in my head, but the ambi controls are awesome.

Yeah, pretty much the same...  Building one more rifle that will barely fit in my crowded safe.  Now I'll need to buy a bigger safe next.

But then the new safe will have too much space so I'll buy another lower.  And the process continues.

  8. On the right side the button on top of the mag release is just for bolt release.  What's cool about it is the mag release itself will also lock the bolt open.

The safety is user choice, 90 or 45.

    Nice Shephard9!

    Looks like my ADM lower.

Would you flip it over and post a photo of the other side?

    Thanks

How much are these costing over standard lowers?  They make great charging handles too, by the way.

$370.  But it does include the Talon safety selector, takedown pins and all bolt catch and mag release hardware so... not the worst price I've seen for a billet  lower.

Love their charging handles, have them on all my rifles.
