First post on the forum, be gentle... Building my first NJ compliant AR15. I am aware that muzzle breaks / comps & the word "quiet" do not go together, however I would like to find a muzzle break / comp that does not annoy the shit out of me or the person next to me in terms of noise and muzzle blast. (Yes, I know it's a gun range and things go boom man up etc...) But I am a sucker for being considerate. Scouring the internet, I have been led to the Battle Comp (Expensive), Troy Claymore, Carlson Comp Mini (Illegal?) as my choices for reasonable breaks. Would any of you kind, fellow oppressed New Jerseyans enlighten me on what muzzle break you use that isn't totally obnoxious? Thanks!

Hi all. Initially I wanted to install 14x1mm LH AK-74 style muzzle break made by Chris Butler at AK-USA. But my biggest concern is that this muzzle device will make the rifle louder (when I shoot indoors). AK-74 style brakes put a lot of gas out to the sides, they direct so much concussive force sideways towards other people, so it feels more intense. To make the long story short. I'm looking for one of the modern brakes that directs gas forward, to avoid anything with larger lateral ports. The original 4 piece Bulgarian is considered a flash hider. I'd also avoid anything with a thread. Do any of the following linear brakes look g2g to you guys: 1. http://www.ultimatearmsgear.com/Ultimate-Arms-Gear-Concussion-Overpressure/dp/B015GE5HUC 2. https://www.custommuzzlebrakes.com/#!/Tactical-Low-Concussion-Rifle-Muzzle-Brake/p/35179679/category=7058691 (choose M14-1 LH 7.62mm AK47) 3. http://www.griffinarmament.com/Griffin-Armament-QD-Blast-Shield-p/gaqdbs.htm Are brake shields like this one (the Griffin Armament QD Blast Shield) even legal in NJ? Would appreciate any suggestions! Thanks.
