In Virginia. Cars were stuck stranded for 24-38 hours. After action reports I'm reading the #1 thing people didn't have was food and water.

Cars were kept running for heat. Once out of gas people abandoned them and left on foot.

A bread vendor ended up giving all his bread to people to help with hunger.

Haven't heard of any violence, theft, etc

I have the improved version(includes solar charger for iphone) of the above bag in my car along with a small first aid kit and two quick clot wound bandages and some water. I have also have the cyclone air tire charger and some work gloves.

  2. If NJ had CCW, i would carry the gun i qualify with. This byrna device is a bad idea all around and with the egos, attitudes, and god complex of some of the officers here I would not be caught dead with that device on me. NJ Leos know you don't have a carry permit and could use this as an excuse to go hands-on or worse. I'll wait for actual conceal carry thanks!

Just remember, this is New Jersey which is utterly corrupt at every level.  That zombie ammo box will be the lead story of the news broadcast portraying the home owner resisting a home invasion ass a bloodthirsty murderer looking to do even more than kill those misled thieves whose only crime it was to seek keys to steel a car.  Just take a look at how the news is slanted and corrupted.

As I have stated before, a friend of mine down around Bedminister shot a home invader 3 times with 125 JHP .357.  He was cleared of the shooting but indicted on the jhp bullets.  Finally that charge was dropped but only after some long legal negotiation with an anti-gun prosecutor looking to manipulate the law.  And today, you can pretty much expect that every single prosecutor in the entire state will be out to get you once you pull that trigger.

What the law says, what the state says it means, and how they manipulate it against you are 3 separate issues.

BTW, the PCP fueled scumbag lived with 2 of the 3 rounds going right through his chest.  I saw the chips in the garage wall cinderblock myself.

William has a point! I normally advocate for whatever is legal, available and effective for defense, but with the ammo becoming more available i have since made the switch to Fort Scott TUI 80 grain. I have test fired this round at the range, nice recoil and very accurate.

9mm Luger Subsonic Handgun Ammo, Terminal Performance|Velocity Tactics — Fort Scott Munitions

There are many non-hollow point defense rounds available today, they all seem to have decent performance.

    Good luck with that.

I fear your sentiment may be right. I am worried that NJ will try to thwart of us every step of the way after we win the case. They may make us sue on an individual basis for our carry permits which can lead to years of litigation for each individual applicant. Obviously, those of us still stuck here will have to wait and see, but honestly it does not look good.

  5. I believe the gun was leaked accidentally and frankly I am unimpressed. The gun is reminiscent of the Sig 938 , and a few others like the springfield 911 and Kimber Micro 9. The trigger looks and from what I read feels awful and the pistol comes standard with the cheapo white 3-dot system. In a market flooded with awesome 1911 and striker-fired CCW guns, why buy this? I'm spoiled, i want tritium or at least fiber optic sights, a good trigger etc..

  6. EXTREME RISK PROTECTION ORDER: What You Need to Know About ERPO - YouTube

This is very interesting to watch, listen and learn. Especially, try to listen to the prosecutor as he describes the "process". Notice how calm, relaxed, and even stoic his demeaner is as he describes the many numerous and vague methods, he and the NJ courts can utilize to screw me/you/us over. His blatant anti-2a political slant is obvious but, yet he still tries to hide it under a veil of indifference and legal doublespeak. The predatory eyes and emotionless masked-like expression on the officer's face denote an individual who has a "hard-on" for gun confiscation. Listen to the officer as he describes his role and authority (nearly limitless) on filing "ERPO"s against unsuspecting individuals. The end of conversation reinforces their bias towards gun owners when they both use and agree upon political buzzwords like "common sense" and "gun safety". Normalcy can sometimes hide evil intent!

i do not think it will happen in our lifetime.

those politicians who say they support our right to carry do in fact not support such. they're using it to get their foot in the door with us for votes.

those 2a organizations who say they support us(national, regional and local) do the same thing. they use our hope and our enthusaim for money gathering.

those lawyers that claim to support us do the same. the difference here is that we all eventually NEED them.

the combination of the three above.......if they truly believed in our rights under the 2a, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.

THERE IS MORE MONEY IN TREATING THE DISEASE THAN THERE IS IN CURING THE DISEASE.

so, if you have no belief NJ will ever get CCW then would it be safe to say you are on your way out? Am I the only one who has any hope that come June things will change?

  8. Never going to happen..... the 43 other states with normal rights would be threatened by this and would take drastic action. Like many have said if such a law passed in NJ it would be unenforceable. God forbid if a self defense encounter would occur at my residence there would be no way of proving that I DID NOT have the gun in the attic and bullets in the basement. I too like many here have multiple gun vaults to keep unauthorized people out.... Another point of this law that no one talks about is that there is NO EXCEPTION FOR ACTIVE LEOS, RETIRED LEOS AND THOSE WITH PERMITS. This would mean that active leos would have to disarm after their shifts and when not carrying their CCW weapons off duty. Hey officer just got home from the grocery store? Guess what? you have to unload your off duty CCW weapon!  Even NJ cops will ignore this law if ever passed LOL sorry for the long post, this is just stupid!

  9. okay, show of hands who still has hope that the SCOTUS case will result in NJ getting carry? I personally am holding a sliver of hope as this is a SCOTUS case unlike other potential cases that have come down the pike. SCOTUS cases have a national effect and cannot be ignored by states including NJ. I just don't see how NJ can ignore a landmark SCOTUS decision?  If SCOTUS strikes down "may-issue" schemes NJ would have to abide just like it does with possession of firearms under Heller V DC.

  10. I would highly recommend a handgun for home defense with either red dot/tritium sights and with or without attached pistol light and NOT a shotgun. The shotgun is difficult to reload under pressure, typically has lower capacity than a pistol, more recoil, more flash, and many would argue has more penetration. The shotgun would be the last weapon i choose for any defensive scenario.  Remember, the only gun that matters is the one that is either on you or within reaching distance!

  11. Wow! that's crazy the police must have gone to the moon and back to find something trivial from when you were 13. I wonder how the police got this information. You need a lawyer to assist you as i know of no doctor in NJ that will sign off for a gun permit nor of any instance of doctors in this state providing a reference for a gun permit. The school must have recorded the incident in some format and handed it to the police so they can deny you.....

  12. This again......

Everything is technically illegal in this nanny state, but there are exceptions as GRIZ listed above. As I have said before, hollow points are legal to own under these exceptions PERIOD! If god forbid a violent and sudden self defense scenario would to occur, one would be forced to utilize ammo that is:

    1. Available

    2. Legal to own within the home

    3. Effective

In typical NJ fashion there is no mention of using hollow point ammunition in a self-defense scenario in the statues, nor any ammo for that matter as NJ cannot fathom the concept that a civilian could effectively protect themselves and their loved ones within the home. The basic concepts of self defense that you and I understand elude the majority of those in this state including those in power.

He was trying to talk about standard and high capacity magazines but accidentally let the cat out of the bag: they want to ban all semi-auto firearms.

Yes, the goal of the today's Democrats is to eliminate private firearms ownership in it's entirety. On another note, I feel stupider after listening to a Biden speech.
