I've been waiting on a permit to purchase for about 3 weeks now. Should have it by the beginning of January. How far are you willing to travel? Im in south jersey.

I recommend that everyone who's received their NJ permit to carry go to the Firearms policy coalition website and try calling their legal action hotline. They're looking for plantiffs for future lawsuits that could potentially overturn NJ's unconstitutional gun control.

Carried all day while running errands. Felt good. Hopefully ANJRPC v. Platkin gets decided soon and I'll no longer have to carry 10 round mags.

From the people i know who got them in Vineland, they had their court dates on a Thursday and by monday the police called them. However I'm unsure what my wait time will be like seeing how i had my court date on a Monday. Hopefully i get a call tomorrow.

Yup. Just got approved yesterday for an unrestricted permit. Waiting for the PD to have it ready.

Just got approved in Cumberland county. Unrestricted permit. Application submitted 9/19. 70 days. The PD should call me to pick it up later this week.

So how long after it passes does he sign it into law?

So if A4769 passes Monday, how long until it takes effect and becomes law?

Well according to my USPS delivery digest, it appears my letter from the court gets delivered today. Exactly 60 days from the day i submitted my application. If everything goes smoothly, i get approved, and my PD gives me my permit in 2-3 business days after approval (pretty average from what I've seen), i should have my permit in hand on Nov. 30 or Dec. 1. 72 or 73 days from date of submission of application. Hopefully I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch.

Had the same problem. Call the department you're submitting your app to and ask them.

I'm currently at day 58. I emailed the department i submitted my application to today, and they confirmed that my application was sent to the court however they didn't tell me when it was sent. I am aware that my county is having a permit hearing on Nov. 28, so i will be diligently checking my mailbox until Monday. From people i know who've gotten permits, the court likes to mail you exactly 1 week before the hearing.

Which court does your application go to to get approval? Is it the superior court of your county? For instance, if i lived in Cumberland county, would i need to contact the superior court of Cumberland county ?

Is there any uniformity across the state to the number you receive from your police department? I got a case number of "xxxxx-xx"

You don't. Either call them and ask or you're pretty much SOL.

Vineland. How long before the hearing did you get your letter in the mail?

Where did you get this information? Do you know how many they approve in every batch? I submitted my app on 9/19 and haven't heard anything from the court or PD about the status of my app.

Vineland PD is accepting (or at least when i applied) both 1.5"x 1.5" and 2"x 2" photographs.

Here's an image of the instructions i received from the police department since you seem to know a lot more about this process than me.

I was given a piece of paper with instructions on how to submit the application when i picked up the application. No where did it state that the PD needed to be present when i signed the mental health form. The instructions also said that i must make an appointment to be fingerprinted AFTER i submit the application. The instructions also requested "four color passport size photographs" which is what i submitted. Their issue with the photographs is that they were printed on regular paper and not glossy professionally printed type material.
