  1. I almost always use tire rack, but if you print out the prices local shops will beat them and save you some hassle.
  2. I need to put a string on my compound bow for this coming hunting season. I don't want to pay the $50~$60 clams that shops are charging. I am an ASE certified mechanic and am more than happy to barter with someone. I also cast and reload my own ammo. If someone would like casting lessons or reloading lessons I could teach you. Broke college kid! Thanks Everyone! -Dave
  3. Fixed it! Best 1.99 I have spent on this 1911 EVAR! I am shooting an IDPA match this saturday, Cant wait to try it out. I am a function over form guy when it comes to guns, but this looks sexy too! Thanks for all the replies! -Dave
  4. I workout quite a bit, and I work with my hands so I think strength isn't the problem. I feel like the µs between my hands and the pistol isn't what it should be. The wooden grips are pretty slippery compared to grip tape.
  5. I shoot a 1911 with home rolled 230 grain lead heads with 4.5 grains of unique behind them. Wolf LR primer. They are pretty mild mannered loads, but I find myself re-adjusting my hands after each shot. I squeeze the pistol, both thumbs pointing at the target, high grip, left hand over the right, back of the pistol centered in the palm of my right hand. I shoot really well with this gun, and I like to shoot competitions, but I feel like I could be better if I didn't re-position my hands after every shot. When I wear leather shooting gloves it helps the problem, but I still do it every few shots. I have another set of cheapie plastic grips that came with the gun, I am about to sand them smooth and put some skateboard grip tape on them! I bed that would help. Ideas? Thanks guys! -Dave
  6. Feels good to make your own ammo, look into casting for even more savings. I make .45 ACP for 4.6 cents a round!! Cost of supplies is almost negligible to me now. teh problem is shooting it all and reloading it on this single stage. I will buy a progressive this spring.
  7. It looked like a 10/22 at first, teh condition it's in was amazing. But then it all made sense... : / Good looking gun, I love aperture sights.
  8. ^Wow didn't know that... good to know : )
  9. Yes if it has a 6 position stock and pistol grip
  10. I am going tuesday to take my orientation and join. Thanks Rich! U da man
  11. The range is awesome. Thanks again Rich! I am going to set up my orientation for joining sometime next week. I thought it was pretty far away, it was only a 35 minute drive! Got to shoot 300 yards with the M1 garand and the savage. Good times. Ill be back soon!
  12. Actually one of my reasons FOR joining is because I cant shoot on the weekends.... This week and next week are both fine for me except friday next weekend. What day is good for you?
  13. Yeah I would like that a lot actually.... When do you wana go shooting
