  1. In an effort to make it easier to keep up to date with NJ2AS meetings, activities and events, we will be posting regularly in the New Jersey Second Amendment Section of this Forum. You can also find out what is going on our NEWS PAGE and on our EVENTS PAGE. Our next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at American Legion Post 129 on 2025 Church Road in Toms River on Wednesday November 9, 2011 at 7:30 PM. Frank Virgilio will be our featured speaker, and we will be bringing you up to date on our current litigation against the NJ Division of State Police as well as our ongoing litigation for Operation Establish Compliance. For those of you who don't know Frank Virgilio, he is the President of The NJ State Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs. His organization represents hundreds of THOUSANDS of hunters, shooters, and sportsmen. If we are going to have an effect on changing the current state of firearms ownership in New Jersey and throughout the country, we need to form alliances with these groups and work together toward a common goal. We are all looking forward to hearing Frank's perspective on the RKBA in NJ! Thank you

  3. Good point! I will try to remember to do that, but if I forget - please feel free to remind me. I think it is a REALLY good idea.
  4. Let me know if you have any problems and I will intervene. Harry, YOU are always on my "good" list!
  5. Guys, again - I apologize. Things got away from me this month. I did send out emails to all the members. Are you guys members? If not, please join ASAP. we *NEED* you. I JUST assigned someone to make sure that all our meetings and events are posted here, but the best way to stay in touch is to visit our website, and as I said, become members. :-) HEY, I gotta push, it is my job. Seriously, if some of you guys have been waiting to join, "NOW IS THE TIME!!!" We just wrote a BIG check to our attorney for the retainer to litigate against these towns and municipalities that are trampling upon our rights. We need you to be informed, active and involved if we are to succeed, for *ALL* our benefits. Of course, if we are missing the boat somehow - please feel free to tell us what we can improve. Now that we have our "feet under us", we can begin to do more (with your participation, of course). Thanks Guys.
  6. Agreed Harry. I apologize. I have the same problem as you - too much to do, not enough time. I neglected to post it here. I will put someone in charge of making sure that there is a post for every meeting. Thanks, FJF

  8. Thanks G. Your review of the meeting is dead on. After one year of existence, we have the structure in place to have a much greater impact, but we NEED more members. Politicians are impressed not only by mere "numbers", what "moves" them are *ACTIVE* members - i.e. people who will VOTE and help to get other's to vote. The general apathy that pervades NJ (though a bad thing) *CAN* actually work in our favor. The upcoming elections in November are a prime example. Sadly voter turnout in NJ is PATHETIC. The advantage is - *IF* we FREEDOM-LOVING activists can actually show up to vote, and encourage other LIKE-MINDED people to do the same - we can determine the outcome of some of these districts. There isn't a lot of time left, but there are PLENTY of resources out there. Check out the NRA list of candidate for *YOUR* district. Contact their campaign headquarters. Volunteer to put up signs, knock on doors, make a few phone calls. I made calls for Jon Runyan when he was running. It is EASY. DONATE to these campaigns. They still need money for last minute pushes. You don't want to be sitting here in a couple of weeks complaining about being STUCK with the same "business as usual", ANTI_GUN_OWNER representatives we have had for decades. If you get out there (even at THIS late date and actually *DO* something, we can win some important seats. At the VERY least you will be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say I did something. One *EXTREMELY* important race that I know we can win if you will help is the Assembly race in District 6. I personally vetted the candidates Horton and Richardson who are running against Lou "10 round mag limit" Greenwald. Both candidates are strongly pro-2A and went so far as to commit to supporting a CCW bill. All it would take is for us to mobilize the hunters and sportsmen from Square Circle and South Jersey Shooting Club and we could thrown Greenwald out on his a**. It is up to you. You can contact their campaign coordinator - Sarah Crosbie at [email protected], or preferably by calling (856) 296-2895 and offering to volunteer. This is a seat we can *WIN*! Good luck and don't forget to VOTE! Thank you, FJF
  9. Geek, our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms does not depend upon NJ "culture". It does not depend upon your incorrect assumption that law-abiding people who live in cities have "no desire for guns". The government does not even have the authority to inflict gun control upon the people. It is a fundamental, unalienable human right that our Constitution says "shall not be infringed". This right has been recognized by the highest court in the land in the Supreme Court decisions of Heller and McDonald. So, in short, everything you have said here is completely beside the point. The fact that "some" people may not want guns has absolutely NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with my right to possess and carry firearms for my protection and the protection of my family and property.
  10. The NRA does have its place. The ANJRPC has their place, and the NJ2AS has their place. We all need to continue to work at what we can do best. There is plenty of work to go around. As long as you are doing SOMETHING, that is fine. I would like to suggest that just paying your dues for membership in any or all of these groups is not going to be enough. There are a lot of other simple things you can do. Right now *TODAY*, you can volunteer to help a candidate in your district who is Pro-2A get elected (if you even HAVE such a candidate). If you are not sure, find out. They will *ALL* "say" that they support the Second Amendment, what they really must commit to is that every law-abiding citizen has the RIGHT to KEEP and BEAR ARMS, and that they will support such a bill. If they can't commit to that, they are simply *NOT* pro-2A no matter WHAT they say.
  11. ENJOY. Parts 2 through 4 are available on our website www.nj2as.com under "MEDIA". While you are there, please consider donating. We have paid out a large retainer to our attorney for the lawsuits that we are initiating against the towns and municipalities that keep trampling upon our rights. The first suit will be starting shortly. The more money we collect, the more towns we can sue, and the BIGGER impact we make. PLEASE CONSIDER BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE NJ2AS. Don't miss Part 1 of our new video . The full Hi-Res video is available from our Home Page.
  12. My Pleasure. Please share as much as possible. We should be able to make this go viral. People seem to really LIKE it. Even those who were not so firmly in our camp. When they see how ABSURD things are, it actually gets them to look at our situation with COMPLETELY different eyes. I am quite amazed actually. Ryan McBeth did one HELL of a job putting this together. I also owe thanks to smitty for supplying some of the content. The one thing I can say with *ALL* certainty, the New Jersey Second Amendment Society has attracted some of the ABSOLUTE best people in New Jersey. I hope those of you who haven't joined or donated to "Operation Establish Compliance" will do so. We need both your membership and your donations to carry on this fight. We are just about to launch Phase Two of OEC - we have to retain an attorney, and it is going to cost us. We are willing to spend this money to try and fix what's broken in New Jersey, but we are going to need *ALL* your help. PLEASE JOIN and DONATE whatever you can. We do need your help. You will notice that I don't beg for money very often. We all get ENOUGH of the (almost daily) calls, letters and emails begging for money from the NRA, NAGR, SAF and others. I am not saying that they don't deserve your donations, but we are RIGHT HERE IN NJ! We are truly doing a LOT to improve the life of firearms owners here. We will not be able to do it alone. Here are some of the things we are currently involved in: A Lawsuit against the NJ Division of State Police in order to obtain access to the "Firearms Applications Processing 'Investigation' Guide" (*** NOTE: The word "investigation was added to try and fool the Judge into thinking it should be secret - before that it was just the "Firearms Application Processing GUIDEBOOK"). The retention of an attorney to begin going after the individual towns and municipalities who are trampling upon our rights. An introductory program for beginning shooters. Campaigns to oust Anit-Gun-Owner legislators such as Lou "10 round" Greenwald. Upcoming meetings with Evan Nappen, Alan Gura, and David Jensen (of the SAF/ANJRPC lawsuit). The Non-Resident CCW licensing Program. An active Facebook Group - http://www.facebook.com/groups/nj2as/ A growing YouTube Presence - http://www.youtube.com/user/nj2as And MUCH MORE. This all takes time and money, but it *IS* coming together. Anyone interested in finding out more, please meet us tomorrow evening at the North Jersey location of "Gun For Hire" at 75 Rutgers Street in Belleville, NJ at 7:30 PM. I will be speaking about the recent SAF Gun Rights Policy Conference that was held in Chicago last month. I will also be opening things up to the membership so that you can express some of your ideas and suggestions. Everyone is welcome. You don't have to be a current member. If you like, you will be able to join at the meeting. Please ignore the people who say that we are a "do-nothing" group. Those people are not involved and don't really have a clue. Come and see for yourself. Thank you FJF
  13. Well, I appreciate the kudos, but I am but a cog in the machine. Ryan McBeth put the video together. We help with some content, but he did SUCH an EXCELLENT job!
  14. OK, Thank you. I am not sure what happened. It should be working now. I did for me anyway. :-) FJF
  15. This is the updated Hi-Res version of the popular NJ2AS video "The Never-ending Saga of Firearms Ownership in New Jersey". Please share with your family, friends and neighbors. This is our situation in a nutshell. It is a FUN, CLEVER and INFORMATIVE Video. ENJOY! The Never-ending Saga Thanks,
  16. You are lucky. Many NJ towns and municipalities *DO* make up there own rules. *THAT* is the point! :-)
  17. You are correct about the $2.00 though. I will see about changing that. Luckily, that really isn't all that substantive. I appreciate you catching it though. Thanks,
  18. Ryan McBeth is a GENIUS! He did a PHENOMENAL job putting this together for us. We are VERY fortunate that he decided to take on this project. I hope he decided to do some more stuff for us in the future.
  19. Hey Ray Ray, It was a fun time. I got to meet some of the guys I haven't met before, *AND* I walked away with the VODKA basket. NOT BAD! :-) Larry Deraney's tickets which he so generously donated went to sponsor two of New Jersey's finest Wounded Warriors. And the NJ2AS was proud to award them both with Life Memberships in the New Jersey Second Amendment Society. It was a phenomenal moment. Their presence there was received with resounding applause which they, of course, well deserved.
  20. Now, Now Fox. Just because this is New Jersey that is no reason for you to be accurate. :-) Hey, we all want the same thing - to get New Jersey OFF OUR BACKS!
  21. Hi Guys, I just want to tell you about a newly formed organization recently started by Joe Cerillo called the New Jersey Concealed Carry Association. They share many of the same goals as the New Jersey Second Amendment Society and you can check them out at:http://newjerseycca.com/ http://www.facebook.com/groups/NJCCW/
  22. Whatever the answer Nick, I hope we discover it soon. In re-reading my post, I don't think I emphasized enough that as physically "fragile" humans are as compared to Nature, their spirit and determination more than compensate for this fact. I believe in the overwhelmingly positive nature of most humans. I see it demonstrated every day. The more that good people recognize their strength, the better will be their ability to defeat those with evil intent. The intelligent, individual, self-interest of good people is the greatest weapon we have against those who would harm us. That is one of the reasons why the RKBA is so important to our Nation. It is a practical demonstration of the right of the individual to take responsibility for his or her own life and that of their loved ones.
