  1. It's all guessing and conjecture. We won't know until we know. So what's the point of discussing what cops did or used to do for their training/requirements? NJ could get away with 800 hours of training if they wanted to. We'll know in about 10 days. Then we can have a fact-based discussion of what we actually face.
  2. ..........unless the 3rd Circuit issues a stay of the PI. Then we're back to carrying in our living rooms until the case runs its course.
  3. I'll ship if I have to. Can you share the name/website of your gunsmith?
  4. Beavertail, hammer, and safety.
  5. I have some Wilson Combat drop-in parts I'd like installed on a Springfield Armory Milspec 1911. They aren't exactly "dropping in" - they need a bit of fitting, and I have no experience doing that. Can anyone recommend a good 1911 gunsmith that's relatively local? I'm in Flemington.
  6. Yeah, I get it. But about 90% of NJ's population don't own guns. Our only hope is the courts, not elected officials. Don't hope that the electorate will suddenly start voting for Constitution-respecting politicians. That ship sailed long ago, if it ever even existed in this state.
  7. Exactly. Gun owners are a *tiny* minority in NJ, and this is by design.
  8. I'm thankful that there is a PI for most of the "sensitive places", but the permitting requirements and the loss regarding private property are brutal. I'm disappointed that Bumb did research for the state, and in my opinion, got a lot of it wrong.
  9. Skimmed through it, and my mind is blown that she believes the permit application requirements are constitutional. Glad to see a PI for the insurance requirement, but damn, our application requirements (references, etc) are insane. I guess we're stuck with them.
  10. Yes, for now. We'll see what happens when Judge Bumb's yet-to-be-issued decision is appealed to the 3rd Circuit.
  11. There is a good list about halfway down this page: https://gunforhire.com/nj-ccw-permit/
  12. Ordered their "Recoil Extra Dark". Very, very tasty. I will definitely be ordering more from them. Thank you for the suggestion!
  13. @Mrs. Peel, your optimisim is admirable. I was simply commenting on the poopshow I dialed into. That's all.
  14. I certainly hope not, but NJ's arguments are so weak, today should have been a cakewalk for the plaintiffs. Schmutter's filings have been extremely well written, but damn, his presentation today was really off.
  15. It honestly sounded like they had never discussed these cases with each other. It was shocking and disappointing.
  16. Today was the first time I had an opportunity to hear these lawyers. In the past, I had read comments which characterized Cai as a bumbling moron. What I heard from her today was clear and focused. She was very well-prepared. I totally disagree with her arguments and premise, but she is no dummy. Jensen was an absolute mess. Schmutter was just ok - he was sort of all over the place, and unfocused. Judge Bumb even asked him a couple of times why he was arguing with her. It was a rough performance. I have a feeling he was off his game due to having to clean up the mess that Jensen left for him. Both parties must submit further documentation to her by the 27th. What happens after that, I have no clue, but today's hearing left me a bit shaken.
  17. It wasn't Schmutter's best appearance, but he certainly did MUCH better than that idiot Jensen.
  18. Jensen was all over the place regarding sensitive places. He was almost making the State's case for them. Bumb kept trying to shepherd him and get him to clarify, but he seemed terribly unprepared, and very nervous. He was awful.
  19. I am fairly confident judge Bumb will rip NJ to shreds. Either way, it will go to the 3rd circuit. I have far less faith in them than I do in judge Bumb.
