  1. I have a quick question for RTSP. When they first put up their Facebook page, they had a poll for people to guess which town the range would be in. None of the choices were Randolph. Why was this done? I think that part was a bit misleading. Bascially, all those towns listed were a lot closer to me than Randolph is, and I got excited over nothing in the end.
  2. I agree with the point about not allowing someone else to share a port with you without paying the same price, especially if they are using your guns. To me that is unreasonable. I've been pretty psyched about this range opening, but this really is a sore spot to me. I sometimes would like to bring my wife, who would only shoot a couple mag fulls tops. For her to pay the same price as me is a little ridiculous. I agree with not having a group of 4+ using the same port, but 1 other person? At least, charge only half for a 2nd shooter. But I am looking forward to checking this place out once it opens. I'm especially curious to see what they will charge for guns, ammo, and other for sale items.
  3. Thanks for the replies. Someone out of state did the job. I'll leave out details though. JET, replied to your pm.
  4. I have a Battlecomp on the end of my M4 barrel that is pinned and welded to be permanently attached. The weld spot is a bit "rough", as you can see here... Was wondering if someone could offer any suggestions how to best fix this so the spot is smoother? I'm in Morris County. Thanks in advance!
  5. Thanks! It's on the bottom. Just cosmetic so far, but also want to make sure the weld material that is there stays put. I probably should've posted this in the Gunsmith forum. I'll repost there. Mods, please feel free to close this one.
  6. Hello, I recently got an upper from an out of state vendor who permanently pinned a Battlecomp 1.0 for me, in place of the flash hider that comes with it. This is what it looks like... Not sure if this turned out to be a hack job, and it's not as bad in person as the picture looks, but I'm wondering if it's worth having someone else re-weld the hole. If so, is there anyone in northern NJ (near Morris county) that can do this? Thanks in advance!
  7. Pics look great! Is it set up yet for high powered rifles, or is this an expansion project in the future?
  8. I am in Morris County, and was wondering if there are any recommendations for a gunsmith who can do a good job with pinning a stock on an M4 lower in northern NJ. I know there are some good recommendations more south, but was hoping to avoid a long drive. Thanks in advance!
  9. Bummer, but thanks for the tip. Where did you get the GSG-522? And are you able to get 10 or 15 round mags for it easily? Thanks again!
  10. Assuming you can get the stock pinned, and use a 10 round mag rather than the 25 round one, does anyone know if it's legal to own the HK MP5 .22lr that's imported by Umarex? I am just asking because the H&K MP5 is listed on the list of banned "assault weapons" in NJ. Thanks in advance!
  11. I just got the VLTOR iMod stock that I'm about to have pinned to my 6 position extension tube. I'm still debating what position I should have it pinned to make it NJ compliant. Just wondering for those that have done this, what position did you guys choose?
  12. Just a quick question. I'm planning on purchasing an upper, which includes a 16" threaded barrel. I already plan to have the flash hider removed and replaced with a brake/comp that is permanently pinned. Do I need to do anything about the threads though to make it NJ compliant? Thanks in advance!
  13. This is great news. I for one am excited and cannot wait till there's a range nearby!
  14. Been a few years since I purchased a gun, so have a few questions about the one gun a month law... 1. How is the month calculated? For example, if I buy a handgun on June 16th, when can I buy my next one? 2. If buying a handgun one month, is it still ok to buy a rifle before the 1 month is up? 3. If buying/selling a used gun from a private NJ seller (none FFL), does the same rule apply? How does the seller know if the buyer has or hasn't bought a gun in the past month? Thanks in advance!
  15. Hi, I am picking up either a Glock or M&P soon, and I just need a gunsmith in northern NJ (I am in Morris county) who can install a set of sights, which will most likely be Heinies. Is there anyone who could do this for a decent price and turnaround time? Thanks in advance!

    Sig P220

I have a SIG P220 and a few 1911s. I think the SIG is a very nicely made pistol out of the box. It's pretty damn accurate, and reliable too. I actually had mine worked over by Teddy Jacobson (Actions by T), and the trigger pull is really nice now. However though, I have grown to much prefer lighter and shorter trigger pulls that are consistent shot to shot, so I never shoot any of my DA/SA guns anymore. I also don't really care for the higher bore axis of the SIG. And one other thing I don't like is the location of the slide release. It's basically up to you to try it though. As far as reliability and accuracy, you can't go wrong.
  17. Quick question, is it still considered illegal to be in possession of a magazine that holds over 15 rounds, but it is fully disassembled?
  18. Thanks for the welcomes! Doesn't Somerset County Fish require a reference from a current member? I don't know anyone who is currently a member there now unfortunately. Plus, if there are mandatory hours you have to put in, that may be tough too. I've gone to Bullet Hole a few times, but the last time I went on a weekend, it was way too crowded. Any feedback/info about the Bayonne range?
  19. Hello, glad to have found this forum. I'm a Morris county shooter, and have been into firearms for about 12 years now. I used to shoot a lot at Ray's Sport Shop until they closed down. Since that happened, and since having kids, I haven't had much time to shoot in the past two years. I'm looking to slowly get back into it. Anyhow, just wanted to say hi, and also, find out what ranges are good around Morris County. I mostly shoot pistols. Thanks!
