  1. I seem to recall a recent episode of Gun For Hire Radio where guest attourney Evan Nappen described gun trusts as a possible shelter for ordinary firearms. In order to do this, however, the government would have had to succeed in reclassifying the firearms as destructive devices (class III, I think?). Then you would have the legal right to create a trust. (Disclaimer, I don't have any idea if I am correct on these details. It was just the impression I got from listening with a non-legal brain) I'm just working from memory, here. I believe it was episode 84. The download page is here: http://gunforhireradio.com/podcasts.html I did a CTRL+F (find on page) search for keyword "Evan" and got the 8 episodes he appeared on. Episode 84 seemed to jive with the time of year I remember them discussing the subject. But you won't go wrong (and will probably enjoy) listening to them all. I hope this is helpful Erik
  2. Really? The establishment of more gun free zones??? Well, I've got tomorrow's call to legislators talking points already prepared
  3. I have to say that although magazine capacity restrictions are misguided and ineffective, I will say that I would stand by mandatory training just like what is required when you get your driver's license. There are too many bone heads running around who either don't know the laws, or don't know proper and safe firearms handling. And I could use the excuse to go to more classes, myself. The only problem I see is the administration taking training to the point where otherwise qualified firearms owners may be disqualified for stupid technicalities or other dirty tricks. -Erik
  4. Out of curiosity, does the form factor of this knife qualify as a knife in NJ? I'm probably just wishfully thinking, but is there a legal definition of "knife"? Perhaps the absence of a point disqualify it from being restricted? Just hoping. I'm looking at either buying this one, or an Ontario Kukri. Erik
