Wow.  I didn't realize anyone watched the NFL anymore.

Well if you believe the analysis, it's not that the NFL is that great. It's that broadcast TV sucks.

I've watched NFL games periodically this season since they laid off all the racist preaching. At least on air. Just little print reminders in the end zones and on the backs of some helmets.

But I was wondering about that 'Political Programming'. Was that a Trump rally or event?

  2. Here's another industry update from SG. FYI, I checked AmmoSeek and his current case price on Federal Hydra Shok 124gr 9mm P9HS1G1 and P9HST3 is at least a dime/round below everyone else. Free shipping on the case.

Ammo Arrivals @ SGAmmo - PMC, Federal +P+ 9mm, LE 12 Gauge Slugs and Other Deals | SGAmmo.com

Yes, still no bargains compared to three years ago. But if you want/need some...

I'm cross posting this in the Hydra Shok review thread.

It’s best to call him and see where he is with his backlog. He has done work for me in the past as far as machining and detail work when his books were pretty closed up.

OK, thanks. Good to know for those wanting custom 1911 work, but I won't be one of them. My curiosity was peaked by the fact I never heard of Chuck Rogers before. So when I went to his sparse website with a ton of nice pictures but zero information (or pricing!), and a 23-month-old status message I figured he must have hung it up.

Lest you think I'm a newbie, I bought our first Colt Governments in 1979. I visited Austin Behlert in NJ, and spoke to Bill Wilson in Arkansas. Behlert got the work because he was local. As a firearm newbie at that time I wasn't comfortable sending off our first 1911s to someone I couldn't shake hands with. We now know Wilson's work probably would have had more investment value, but Behlert's work was outstanding. Those two pistols fit our hands like gloves, and exceed our talents. So I haven't been in the market for custom work again.

I did buy a Dan Wesson Valor a few years ago to 'upgrade' the inventory a little and was happy with it. I just wasn't interested at this point spending $$$$ for more 'custom' guns or work like Brown, Wilson, Baer etc. Somehow I avoided hearing about Rogers. But apparently he doesn't need any advertising help, or a spiffy website. His reputation suffices. His work does look enticing. Enjoy his pistols.

Oh look, I did post a picture.

Of course Chuck is still in business. His work isn’t easy to come by, and getting on his books is even harder.  That said, Chuck is still trucking away!

Well then he should update his website. Or at least change the effective date.
