  1. Who’s the Anti without the nameplate? What a tool EDIT: he's done, there is a new panel now... Got to go, thanks for the link
  2. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see this happening let alone benefiting NJ residents. If it does pass and it is a legal “end-around” for us there would probably be an emergency NJ legislation session whereas the NJ legislators would likely draft a NEW State law to prevents this. That’s just my opinion. I recently joined this forum but firearms have been a hobby for me since the early 1970’s. This is slightly OT but I called the NRA about six weeks ago because I wanted to see if they could advise me on how to obtain a CCW. I know the NJ carry permit is just about impossible to obtain so I figured let me call the NRA because they are always asking for donations and this is something I would like to obtain and obviously see passed. I was put in contact with the NRA- ILA division. I asked the rep why the last attempt to revamp the NJ CCW died; her answer (in so many words) was the NRA has written off NJ. She did refer me to an NJ NRA recommended attorney and he spent about 10 – 12 minutes on the phone with me. I was grateful for the attorney’s time and views on the matter. The attorney cited some very specific examples of what could help you qualify for acquisition of a carry permit. One example was *something like* if you were a legal transporter of narcotics and could be targeted by bad guys; another example was if you were a machine gun dealer and needed to protect you & your cargo. Lastly, if you had a documented threat on your life, I suppose if you have to be beaten to within your last breath and they read your last rites and you made it back from the dead then, and only then may you qualify. As we already know obtaining a carry permit to be proactive does not qualify. So my question is what happened to the bill of a few years ago that was supposed to re-do the current carry laws? I find it ironic that I have non-resident permits for four other states but I can’t get one for my home state. And with the exception of FL (likely because of volume) the three other states were processed in record time. I was hoping our celebrity governor would weigh in on the matter and also purpose legislation to dial back some non-sense firearms laws but he’s too busy NOT running for president. In the meantime his buddy, the Wisconsin governor just passed a CCW so what’s CC problem? I realize it all has to go though both houses however CC did ram pension reforms with the Democrat control of both houses so why can’t champion this cause? After all he is the Golden Boy of the Republican Party and the anti-Corzine, or is it just a case of meet the NEW boss same as OLD boss?
  3. 1)I was doing a search to see if there was any update on the CCW bill that was supposed to have been up for consideration but apparently that’s dead. More recently I was looking for Saiga information due to conflicting stories of its legality. Basically I landed here via Google on both searches. It just amazes me how azz backwards NJ firearms laws have become. If you are a PA resident and want ammo, a Saiga or CCW no problem. 2) six months 3) perhaps stay on top NJ firearms issues...
  4. I'm the new guy, here's my 2 cents. I like the Darrell Mount, just knock out the rear site pin and install the mount. The only one problem I haven't found a decent LER scope. I have the ATI stock but was looking Boyd's Mosin stock when I get bucks ahead Here's close up of the Darrel mount if anyone is interest my Mosin collection
  5. Thanks guys, glad to be onboard!
  6. Thank you! yep, I think I'm good for a while, last time I looked I Three 880 rds cases of 7.62x54R, I think that should get me though the year. Got an email blast from Bud's a few weeks ago, guess what their number one seller was for 2011. I may change the username later on but needed something to get onboard with, plus I do like the Mosins. I even have the tee shirts.. Seriously, I think once you get over 50 you have a greater appreciation for vintage stuff, it don't have to even be firearms. It could be cars, tools, buildings, movies whatever. Look at the Mosins, they are still in service that's pretty good for a 70 + year old gun. Nice FXDL you have there, I have the FXDXI
  7. @ Maksim – In Hamilton, I’ve never made it out to Fort Dix. Generally just go over to PA, Ready Aim Fire is just a shot down Rt13,outdoor ranges aren’t that far. Someday I'd like to give Fort Dix a try @ junkmanted – I have three Mosins. Two M91/30’s one round receiver that I put and ATI stock on and the other is a HEX receiver I plan to leave as is. The round was a little beat up so I don’t care how the hack job on that one. Then I have a Mosin M44, which I really like as well. I’d like to get Finnish Mosin but they are getting a little pricy. Lastly I have an SKS, that’s it for the Russians.. @ usmars & PK90 – thanks guys, glad to be onboard
  8. I've been thinking about joining for some time but finally pulled the trigger today,, no pun intended. I picked Mosin Fan as my username becasue over the last year I've become addicted to Mosins but I do have some modern firearms as well. I belong another gun forum but it isn't a NJ forum. I joined this forum because we are all in the same boat as far as azz backwards NJ gun laws, maybe it will get turned around here or maybe not, but if so I don't want to miss out...
