  1. As for needing someone to thread the barrel; I don't see the point?

If you have a threaded barrel already - buy a thread protector (nut) and have a dealer pin it for you - done!

if you have a non-threaded barrel already - you're good to go!

For some reason if you needed to have that non-threaded barrel cut / threaded - Mike at Tier One does excellent work BUT remember if it's a chrome lined barrel and you cut it, the chrome will eventually peel - they always do.

    Best of Luck!

  2. I have been on the phone today with the NJ/Ny NRA Field rep and we discussed this in depth.

Great work by NJ2AS but I think there is one misleading bit of information here. IndentoGo is not run by the NJSP. They are a privat contractor that bids on Govt. contracts to secure a contract to supply services to the State of NJ. As such, It is my belief that Murphy sent word that the contractor was to deny Firearms Fingerprinting as a retaliation to the Trump mandate to allow Gun dealer to reopen as essential business.

That being said - it would not be in the NJSP juristiction to tell a private business to 'reopen". I will assume it came from the AG's office

I disagree. I think you will see an uptick in revolvers and pump shotgun in 30 days or more. I think if they went through the trouble, thought they needed it, they will hold on to it.

Zeke 'ole boy - you have no idea how many did this after Newtown, and again after trump won.....................

  4. As per the NJSP - AK's in NJ are allowed as long as they do not say Kalasnikov on the frame!

Cannot be Russian (A. Kalasnikov) nor US Kalasnikov Concern, USA.

The fram can say "AK" on it - just not "Kalasnikov"

All other AK's are considered Sporting Rifles, and as long as they meet the NJ compliance regulations then they can be sold.........

Am I supposed to be impressed that NJNICS is working on a Sunday, still processing requests from a week ago?

Fed NICS is open 17 hours a day and only closed on Christmas. Please excuse me if I'm less then impressed by a group that is normally 6 days a week and closed every state holiday. Thank you Gov. Whitman for this amazing state run system.

    Everyone has an opinion!

As I said, I don't blame the workers, I blame the management.............

Since everything is online, what exactly do they do to have "2-3" people only move "100-150" a day?

Sounds like stereotypical government job "work".

Just to update your remark - the NICS unit is open and they are in on a SUNDAY processing checks - still sound like "stereotypical govt. work"?

NICS has said that when things go smoothly they can do a NICS check in two minutes. The problem is when they need to investigate something, they could spend 20 -30 minutes doing one check.

This is very true except now when there is a question, and it goes to the supervisor for clarification, the Supv. may call the local PD and not get anyone in the admin office; so that can delay to check even longer.

Bottom line is it is an inconvenience to all of us, but it could be worse. Trump announced last night the Federally Gun MFG. & Retailiers (Dealers) are "essential" business and hopefully this will push Grewal to have NJ Gun dealers added to the essetial list and the ones that are closed can re-open - we will see.

    Meanwhile - Everyone Relax...............

I'm sure you are the bestest and fastest at your profession, but at 150 a day divided by 3 = 50 checks each

That equates to approx 6.5 mins per check if said person took no coffee break, lunch break, smoke or bathroom

I know the system is flawed (big time) but personally I think your remark is off base........
