    Dickson Falcon 3201

So i finally received the gun, it's in ok condition and definitely well used. I was told by a local high end gun shop that it's a "little loose" and that i could shoot it just not on a regular basis. I'm not to versed in shotguns but they also mentioned that replacing the pin that makes it loose can cost upwards of $500. Does this seem right? I couldn't tell if they just didn't want to be bothered with it. . It's a double barrel Dickson Falcon 12 Guage Shotgun from Spain. Any recommendations on where or who I can get in touch with about the gun?
  9. It will be just a plinker unless I ever have to rely on it for survival/hunting small game.

Which type of scope is recommended? Anything i'm missing? Do they usually come with a bag/case?

Not sure, I should have towards the end of next week.
  12. After many years my dad is finally sending me my grandpa's hunting gun. I can't find much information about it, not even sure if it's a decent gun. I want it more for sentimental reasons. Any info would be appreciated, i know it's 12 guage double barrel.
  13. Need input ASAP. My dad is finally getting around to shipping me out my grandpa's old double barrel shotgun that he used for hunting. Looking for the best place to have it shipped for a reasonable price. I was told my grandpa made some kind of modification to the end of the stock so somewhere knowledgeable with repairing it would be great. I believe Heritage Guild wanted something like $75 for the transfer.

    ADT Question

Most companies offer different monitoring packages. The company I use ranges from $21.95 per month for basic up to $39.95 with interactive cell radio (remote arm/disarm with app or from a pc, email updates etc) It's a smaller company so there are no up front equipment discounts but you do own everything installed. The monitoring (like most) goes up even more if you want to add other features like live view cameras, remote door locks, remote thermostats. Since these systems are low voltage (12v) you typically have to install smoke/c.o. detectors made to work with the alarm.

    ADT Question

Did you recently upgrade/change out the Alarm panel? (brain to the system) Newer systems have a feature called Dialer Abort to help avoid false alarms. You can turn this feature off on some systems while others you can only choose the delay time 15-60 seconds. If the equipment hasn't been replaced maybe the programming is messed up. Unfortunately it's something that ADT has to program and not the user.
  16. Decided on the 19 gen 4, can't wait to put some rounds through it!
  17. Went to purchase my gun on Saturday only to find out the pistol permit had a typo and the issue date said 12/30/12. Back to he PD tomorrow have it corrected.
  18. Well after almost 2 months I finally have my I.D. card. I'm pretty sure i've decided to go with a Glock despite all the negativity out there towards them (which i don't get can someone explain?) My question now is which one, the 19 the 17 or even the 34? I can't conceal/carry so a smaller gun isn't a must and considering the gun will be used for range time 99.999999% of the time and home defense the rest of the time wouldn't it make sense to get a decent all around gun that a longer barrel provides?
  19. Does anyone know where I can rent a Walther PPQ? Is there anything i need to be aware of with ear protection?
  20. I was able to put some rounds through the Glock 19 yesterday at my Guns for Hire class. It fit well and shot well. I have a friend with an XDM that I am going to try soon. The Sig didn't feel right in my hand. I'll have to try some of their other guns. The FNX (if i remember correctly) was really comfortable fitment wise as well as the PPQ. So many choices! I also shot an 8 round .357 Nighthawk. I like the action of a semi auto over the revolver.
  21. I'm looking in to either the NRA First Steps Pistol or the NRA Basic Pistol classes. The first one is 4 hours the second is 8. Is the 8 hour really necessary? I'm looking to have a bit more knowledge and feel a bit more comfortable with handling a gun before I purchase.
  22. Well I made it out to Easton yesterday and was able to hold a bunch of guns. The four that I liked the best were the Glocks (17 and 19) The FNH FNX, the Walther PPQ and the Springfield XDM. I am going to take the 8 hour beginner pistol class, it should give me some great knowledge and a chance to shoot 3 of the 4 above guns. The FNX is not in the rental program. The full sized frames feel much more balanced in my hand.
  23. Thanks again for all the responses/helpful information. I will head up to Easton on Monday to get some "hands on" time with all the 9mm's I can. I just got word today that my friends received there reference paperwork. I also get fingerprinted today so i'm hoping it won't be much longer.
