Thanks for the offer but my weekend is very full and will not allow for it at this time . Father in-law is in a nursing home and we're spending as much time with him as possible .

I purchased a S & W 686 tonight . Couple boxes of ammo also . Now off to get a cleaning kit as the manual stated to clean it before usage . Again thanks for all the input . When I take the wife to a range I'll have her try out an AR if one is available .

The vendor is sending me a new one as soon as they're back in stock . Will update with good or bad outcome .

I just received a Fort Knox pistol via UPS today . Arrived with the knob loose in the box and it won't stay attached at all . The box seems rugged but the simplex lock seems loose and kind of junky . The lock doesn't operate very smoothly either . I emailed the vendor today so I haven't heard back yet . Hopefully this is just a bad one and one of those things that only happens to me , like the time I went to Starbucks and they were out of coffee .

The reason i liked the Judge was for the shot shell rounds but after further research , I no longer like it . There are alot of different .410 rounds made for the Judge but none of them seem to do to well in the ballistics testing that I saw on The box o truth web site . Thanks for all the ideas . A few rifles are definitely in my future after I use my 2 PP's first .

I've always been enamored with the lever action but have never shot one . I shot bolt action 22's as a kid at summer Bible camp and loved it . I'm just getting started in this "hobby" and really want a lever action . Don't have anything yet but I'm getting close to a purchase .

Seriously considering a S & W model 60 , seems to really fit my needs .

I tried the search with no success . As a NJ resident . Can I buy more then 1 gun per month ? 1 rifle and 1 handgun ? Or is it 1 gun per 30 days period ? Read it somewhere but can't find it again .

I've been looking at the Taurus Judge line for a HD gun . Haven't held one yet as I just got my permits in hand . I need a HD gun that my wife will be able to handle also . Would a .357 that shoots .38 hollow points be a better choice . Any advice is appreciated .

Looking to get a Ruger 10/22 possibly and would love to get a 1911 that shoots the same rounds for target practice . Is it possible ? I'm a total newbie to firearms . I had a Daisey when I was a kid and eventually I trash picked a Crossman that I sold after repairing the pump compression .

I just got 2 pp's and my initial FPID card in Maple Shade , Burlington county . Took 34 days exactly . Thanks to Maple Shade PD for the prompt service ! They originally told me 14 - 16 weeks of wait time . I'm going to buy a safe before I bring a firearm into my house so i'm not totally prepared at home yet .

Looking forward to learning alot and being safe . Finally received all my permits today , took a little over 1 month . Kudos to the Maple Shade PD , Thank you .

I found NJGF on a Google search for NJ gun laws , lurked for about 2 months and signed up after receiving my FPID card today .
