  1. Well, when you leave and your ears are ringing(yes, I had hearing protection on)....you'll understand.
  2. When a couple of my friends visited Hauges they weren't very personable at all, which seems to be on par with what others have said. When we went into the range, my friend brought his Saiga rifle and one of the safety officers came over while my friend was attaching his target to the cardboard(his back to the rifle) and picked his rifle right up and started messing with the stock. My friend asked him what he was doing, and the guy said he wanted to make sure it was pinned(which it is). I can see the concern as he has an adjustable stock on it, but at least ask the owner of the firearm if its okay to touch it before you walk up and pick it up and start messing with it. He then did the same thing with my 15-22. I won't ever go back there, the ammo prices are outrageous and the range is too loud as they have people shooting everything from large centerfire rifles to shotguns in there.
  3. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). Initial ID and 2 P2P 2. Police Department where you applied. NJSP Woodbine 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. About 4 different Troopers, and one Sgt. 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. Applied 9/25/2009, Received permits 6/26/2009 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). STS-33, SP-66, and SBI 212A, and a mess of checks/money orders to NJSP and NJ SBI(totaling $80+) 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). After 4 months I called the station played tag among about 3 Troopers about the amount of time it was taking. Apparently it was sitting on someones desk and got misplaced. Was informed it would be sent to Trenton that week. 3 more months go by and I call back and ask to speak to a Sgt. He told me it's in Trenton's hands and the FBI takes forever with the prints. I call to the Firearms unit in Trenton where a Trooper(or Detective, I forget) flips out on me telling me never to call them and asked who the Troopers name at Woodbine was that was handling my application. I rambled off about 3 Troopers names before he hung up on me. About another month goes by, and I call back to Woodbine, and tell them I'm going to put in a complaint to the Office of the Attorney General, as the law states they must approve or disapprove my application in 30 days, and it has now been 8.5 months, 7.5 months longer than the law states. They say they will call me back within a half hour. They call back and inform me my permits will be in by Friday. Sure enough, they were there. Cliff notes: Until I threatened to file a complaint to the OAG office, it took ~9 months to get my FID and 2 P2P. NJSP Woodbine recently took 3 months to issue me a P2P. I just moved so lets hope the municipal PD is a bit faster with the address change and a P2P.
