  1. I added * next to the folks who said they have a thrower and will be bringing it.
  2. I think the field course are filled until end of Sept or Oct. Check out their website. Also you can do this http://www.huntercourse.com/usa/newjersey/ which will shortcut your day slightly. I've heard that if you go in, sign up, and don't pay and then exit the screen they send you a 50% off coupon or something.
  3. That's one of the main reasons I wanted to get it in by the 6th! I hope to be up in a tree somewhere as well after that.
  4. You can shoot at the WMAs as long as someone in your party has a hunting license which I do.
  5. Where: Clinton WMA clay range in Clinton, NJ Address: 26 New Jersey 173 Hampton, NJ 08827 When: Saturday Sept 6th Time: 9am at the Clay range ____________________________________________________________ Please try and bring everything you can in terms of a gun, ammo, and clays. A rough check list of what to bring: - Gun(s) - Ammo (birdshot #7, 7.5, 8) - Clays - Thrower if you have one - Eyes and ears - Shell pouch - Beverages/snacks - Layer up and bring a warm jacket/gloves/hat depending on weather - Chair If you can't bring some things, we will have plenty of stuff there. If you've never shot a shotgun before, I and others will try working with you to be able to dust a clay by the end of the day! _______________________________________________ Gun rules to remember: Always treat a gun as if it was loaded Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot Never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy Always be aware of you're target/line of fire For this range, keep all guns unloaded until you're on the firing line Be smart, be safe, and we will have a fun-filled day! _____________________________________________________ Please feel free to post up with any questions or suggestions. 6. I have a hunting license so that's not an issue. Mechanical thrower on the other hand I do not have. Anyway I'll post something shortly.
  7. I'm aware of how Clinton's ranges work. But the issue for me is I'm a newbie shooter so I'm definitely not knowledgeable enough to organize it. I know RecessedFilter has done most of the organization in the past (hope things slow down I haven't seen the other thread yet). That being said if someone can lend a hand I'm happy to do a copy and paste of some of the earlier events and try to get get something going. Are things things usually rain or shine?
  8. Everyone is clearly invited but I know our friend RecessedFilter is usually the organizer! I need enough time to clear it with the boss.
  9. I got 1" Burris Signature Zee Rings for the Nikon Prostaff that's going on my Savage Mark II and got a DNZ 18200 1" medium height rail for my Vortex VX2 3-9x40 that's going on the Savage 220. I hope I got the right stuff.
  10. Honestly I don't remember. I'm assuming by the above comment I should expect that to be for both but I'm a gun newbie so what do I know
  11. They quoted me $65 per hour and said it was approximately 1 hours work.
  12. Just called... very friendly. Thanks for the recommendation.
  13. Man Bergen County sucks... Can anyone recommend a gunsmith near Bergen County? I've seen some poor experiences with Paterson Gunsmiths (I think they are now G&S) but that's about the only place I can find close by. I just need two scopes bore sited and mounted. Thanks
  14. Thanks for the reply. Tenafly is 25 yrds and Flatbrook-Roy is further than Clinton time wise but I'll surely look into the Fairfield Club!
  15. Did you guys check out the link I sent above? You probably should.
  16. I thought their range was only 50 or 100 ft. I could be wrong.
  17. Check out this deal: Good Deals on Select Firearms - Metro Armory Website Grand Opening - http://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/7149720
  18. Hello I know this come up from time to time but I was looking to find ranges under an hour's drive from Bergen County for practice with my shotgun (optimally slugs as well as shot) and 22LR. I'm willing to join a club for the opportunity. So far I've found these are my options: 1) Join Cherry Ridge Range (50 mins) 2) Thunder Mountain (40 mins) but no rifle 3) Clinton WMA (>1:15 hr) Am I missing any other options? Thanks Sam
  19. Paramus. I've done an address change with them before and it wasn't this long to the best of my recollection.
  20. Hi I has a legal name change and I had to get a new FID card. I've been waiting for 4 or 5 months for a two letter change. Is that normal? I don't recall waiting this long with getting the card any of the prior times. Thanks Sam
  21. As far as I can tell from talking to the guys at Dicks gun sales are fine. I think this is just a seasonal sale. People are buying 22LRs. They surely aren't giving away bricks but they will save you one (TO BUY) if you buy a gun from them. Either way, this 22LR issue should come to an end soon. Most of the big guys are ramping up and expanding their facilities. Now if we can just get people to stop hoarding ammo....
