  1. It always seems a shame to throw away a bucket load of perfectly good once fired hulls JUST because the silly Europeans have their own silly ideas about primer pocket size.  Ballistics Products has a new (new to me) product that resizes the pocket to a smaller diameter, making it so the Euro hull will accept and securely hold a US primer.

For about $20, you can rescue Euro hulls with just a couple taps of a hammer.  I am ordering one today.  If you do a lot of reloading, I think this would be a worthwhile investment.

you don't have to be proximate to wage cyber warfare

Well, ya do and ya don't.  It all depends on how one is hacking.  For instance, when Israel shut down Iranian centrifuges, they had someone on the inside plug a USB drive into a computer inside the uranium refinement facility.  It had to be done that way because the facility network was not connected to the internet.

This should scare the crap out of everyone.  Sheriff Richard Jones give presser on what he learned at the National Sheriff's Conference.

Unless you have a valid Texas LTC, yes.

Of course the MSM is yammering about red flag laws.  I dunno why though, because red flags are a tool for domestic complaints, liberal dickhead neighbors and co-workers, erpo and all that.  It's a snitch based law.

Based on the shooter's rap sheet and psych history, Moreno should have been flagged in NICS and denied.  However, being a gender confused minority, I'm sure the liberals took pity, and reduced charges to a level that let this psycho fly under the radar.

Rifle legallity aside, Moreno also got a 5 year old from somewhere who appeared to function as a human shield.

The 7 y/o child is/was her biological son, and I don't think she used the kid as a shield, I believe she wanted the kid to die with her because he was 1/2 jewish and despised her ex-husband's family.  It has not been determined yet, but it's likely the mother shot her son in the head intentionally when she came under fire.

    round limit?

Only semi-auto has a limit.  Manual actions are unlimited, including rifles and shotguns with external mags.  The only thing is, you can't have, say, a 20 rd mag for a bolt action rifle if that mag can also be used in a semi-auto.

  7. I'm trying to resize a too small boot partition I stupidly made when I did the initial install.  Auto updates are failing because there is not enough space on the boot (root) volume.  What I believe I need to do is create a bootable USB stick and resize the main partition, making it smaller by about 10Gb, and then resize the boot partition into the freed up space.

This is probably stupid easy, but for whatever reason, I am unable to get Ubuntu to do my bidding.  Before I came up with creating a startup stick, I was trying to use Disks to accomplish the task, but Disks will not allow me to resize main partition on the fly.  Okay, so it has to be done from a bootable CD or stick, right?  Nope, didn't work for me.

When I click on additional options, Resize is greyed out.  I am missing a step somewhere and need a bit of help to figure out what the missing link is.  Maybe I need a third party partition manager like Partition Magic, I just dunno.

  8. Winchester has caused quite a buzz at Shot Show '24 with the introduction of their new Ranger 22 lever action takedown.

    Winchester Ranger 22LR lever rifle

Over the past few years, lever action rifles have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, probably due to cowboy action shooting blowing up all across the USA.  Both Marlin and Winchester offered lever action 22s up until 2008.  After Winchester's 2007 decision to discontinue the 9422, Remington followed suit and shelved Marlin's popular (but pricey) 39A, leaving only Henry's offerings to fill the void.

Winchester has stepped up with an affordable handsome "car-bean" made with modern materials and manufacturing methods, most notable, the receiver is made from billet aluminum.  The Ranger sports a 10 deg target crown, three position hammer and adjustable trigger.  They put some thought into this.

I really enjoy shooting my 1972 vintage Marlin 39D, however, its value has increased substantially (like 6x what I paid) since I bought it a decade ago.  Now I'm reluctant to bring the 39 to the range for others to shoot, it has already hit the ground twice letting noobs have a go at it.

After the dust settles, I just might get a Ranger,  Winchester priced it at $419 MSRP, with an eventual street price expected to be around $375.  Unlike Winchester's other lever guns made in Japan by Miroku, the Ranger is manufactured in Turkey by the same company that makes their Wrangler line.  Time will tell if its worth buying.
