So, your saying that if a DL states that a customer is 190 pounds and they put 230 pounds down on the form, the sale should be denied?

It doesn't matter what they put on the form in those identifying fields. They can be obvious Black and claim they are White, etc. Who am I to question Race, Gender, Weight, POB, etc.

They why bother with the accuracy of the address?  Or the name?  A change in weight and claiming your gender isn’t what it is are not the same situation. You can’t seriously be saying it is?

I tried Chantix five years ago.  It messed with my head and caused me to have morbid thoughts.  Had to stop that after two weeks.  I'm a happy person who very much likes hearing his own heartbeat.  All the sudden I found myself thinking what it would be like to drive head on into a cement truck.  Not like actually wanting to do myself in, just freaking crazy thoughts.  That shit had to stop.

My wife’s uncle had the same type of experience with Chantix.  That’s why I asked. That stuff is a literal nightmare.

No - it's not illegal, a Federally lic dealer has the discretion for any reason to deny someone a gun.

As for you feeling that it's not "cool" to deny someone their 2A rights; I would not deny any upstanding citizen (male, female, straight, gay, ect.) of their 2A rights, but if a person is not able to tell if they are male or female, then in my opinion they are not mentally capable of having a firearm. That may be my opinion, but it is mine, and I am entitled to use my discretion............

If, as a licensed dealer, you feel the applicant’s mental stability is in question, it is reasonable to refuse to sell the person a firearm.

Prepared to be sued if the prospective buyer is told they were refused because of that answer.  But your decision would be justifiable.

But more importantly, as FXDX pointed out, if the buyer answers that question differently than is shown on a DL, he/she absolutely should be denied the sale.  In fact, if a licensed dealer ignores that discrepancy, wouldn’t they put their license at risk?

Didn't that already happen with 30 round mags, down to 15 round mags, down to 10 round mags (plus the other unconstitutional crap)?

If you have a FID card, you're already registered.

I was referring to the specific firearms.  Having a FID does not prove you own a firearm. Stating on an insurance form that you own brand X with SN ....  proves you own that specific firearm.  That... kind of registry.

Again... does anyone actually believe dems in this state have concerns about the liability issues related to defensive gun use?  In fact.... how many cases of defensive gun use by a legal gun owner have there been in the last couple of years???
This is just another tool in making it more difficult to own a gun and a way to take guns away from lawful gun owners.

Even if it passes I would expect a compliance rate similar to that of 10 round mags.

What about parents who chose to home school or send their children to private school?  Do they get refunds too?

What about parents who’s child has been expelled?  Do they get money back for that?

School vouchers. Probably 90% of pols hate the idea.

    Forced injections...  hmmm.

Forced abortions for stupid people or adults with drug problems? Or no job?  Kids that grow up to be criminals tend to sprout from those situations.  It would be for the good of the herd dontcha know...

    1984....

  6. It’s laughable to think that these illegals will be buying car insurance.  They’ll get a license, whenever they are able to get one... then drive some pos car.

Now.... not only are you, me, your family and friends vulnerable to criminal acts by the low life’s among the illegals..... you can get run over, or T-Boned by one too on a Saturday night after the bottle runs dry.

Say hello to more people’s kids getting killed and higher insurance rates.

@AVB-AMG mentioned above that there are problems that this bill passage attempts to solve.   This solves exactly zero problems.  These DLs will do nothing regarding identifying any of them.  They can’t even come close to proving who they are.

The purpose of this bill is one thing and one thing only.

Illegals voting in NJ elections.  That’s it.  There is no other reason.

  7. The permit issuance is handled by a retired LEO.  Thats why they handle applications and permit/ID card pickups on certain days. You didn’t say who that email was from.  I have to assume it was from Manalapan PD.  So just go there on the 2nd or the 9th to pick up your permit.

If you can’t make the 2nd, send an email now asking if your id and permits are ready and reference the email you received.  You should get a reply on the 2nd. If not, just go on whatever date you can make it.  They will either be ready or they won’t.

My experience before they went to a more digital process was the retired LEO would send you an email when they are ready to be picked up or if they needed to alert you that references had not come back.  But there was never any email like the one you received from anywhere except Manalapan PD.

And just for reference, that retired LEO, if he still does this, is a good guy. Not an anti.
