  1. Anyone looking into Glock Ar Lowers, or have built?

New Frontier, Palmetto, Quarter Circle 10 all seem to have products rolling out, even Joe Bobs with a Spartan lower.

The way i look at is if you have the glock why not and its a cheap alternative to something like the HK USC.

Anyone have any experience on a build like this? Let me know, it seems like there are a lot of new products, hopefully most are good quality parts but you never know!

  2. right but this is not about substantially identical is it? it is about "types" being illegal..

Well what makes a rifle a type? The fact the barrel said m1 carbine caused the issue.

No reasonable person of ordinary intelligence can define a weapon by type. To be honest i would have no idea what i was lookin at with a m1 carbine and i pay to be a member on a forum devoted to firearms. And if infact you need to show me a picture of a m1 carbine, now we are playing the substantially similar game because in appearance and material its the same, so now we have to look at the evil features.

Do you get what im putting down? Because I believe i am of ordinary intelligence, and i am capable of working, driving, paying taxes, and running a simple clean household. BUT if you asked me to point to a m1 carbine type, or a substantially similar firearm that falls within the evil feature clause of legality i would not be able to do so.. The writing on the barrel tho would give me a strong indication that it may in fact be a m1 carbine type which would short change the substantially identical, evil feature case.

  3. Why not a thumbhole stock ban rifle? Mak90, sa85m? Saiga conservation with magpul furniture? the o-pap's are a sweet deal.

PSA has ak in the serial number and they havnt allowed nj shipments yet. There are plenty of options, while a ddi Polish built parts kit is cool, there are factory built rifles floating around for a fair price and the last of their kind to be imported.

  4. Worth a bump they are shipping now, at a great price. they will not ship to NJ yet.

Im sure they will do so with time, from PSA

"Thank you for the inquiry. At the present time we are unable to ship them to California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey or New York."

  5.  I probably won't install the bullet guide until I move to a free state.

    Hey Vlad!

ive read that the bullet guide is a hit or miss I understand not installing it if rifle cycles fine... But Texas Shooter not installing it until moving to a free state.. im wondering what thats about? Any particular reason?

  6. I think best deals right now are the preban rifles, mak90's for 700 -800 dollars, hungarian sa85m, even a thumbhole stock maadi. I have no idea what happened to the PSA AK47 but it wouldnt surprise me if they screwed up the headspace on a big bulk order lol!

Factory built rifles, proven, and you can swap out the furniture and do as you please with keeping 922r in mind.

if your planning on doing your own saiga conversion your gonna want to rivet the trigger guard which is by no means a big deal, but will cost time and money. Finding a trigger guard, the russian ones, and bulgarian ones you want can run a lil more, unless you dont care what the mag catch tab looks like.. but the russian and bulgarian mag catches have a nice profile, Hungarian is just flat and meh.

If your gonna screw on the trigger guard and drop a tapco g2 trigger set in it then just get the Kalishnakov Concerns.. Russian Factory Built gun, perfectly crushed rivets, cold hammer forge barrel thats chrome lined.. it will out live you!

Not sure why you wouldnt install the bullet guide tho.

  7. Chiie is attacking St Louis in a big way today!! 600 something attacks in a matter of seconds.

Supposedly their is a great deal of masking involved and the attacker / target is not correct but instead mirrored around the world.

From what i been told Norse is a reputable company and while its not everything its a glimpse of whats going on!

  8. So then it's easier to use the Zhukov one, not the MOE?  Score.  I'll get that one then.

No even the mid length hand guard requires you remove the hand guard retainer from what i can tell.

The shortest one available uses the hand guard retainer as a sling loop

  9. That looks pretty sweet!  I need to convert my Saiga... I think I'd go for the MOE one though, not the Zhukov...

Makes the conversion easy! No need to file a notch for the handguard retainer as they dont use the handguard retainer unless you get the shorter handguard.

I havnt filed the notch in my barrel yet for the retainer, but my new gas block is pinned in place already. donno what to do!

  10. Love this thread, was able to source a FEG fixed rear trunnion for a 63d that will be built as a fixed stock kit but its consecutive matching kit brother will remain an under fold. With a standard slant brake it would be cutting it pretty close to that 26inch OAL folded but with a quick weld it will be fixed as well and i guess just fun to have since those metal underfolders arnt the most comfortable.

The traditional under fold mechanism does have a sling loop built into it i  could see just pulling the stock off a fixed rear trunnion requiring some type of riggin up

this guy used a mesa tactical 870 sling mount. drilled and thru the receiver.. you can also route a channel into your existing wood stock so it can fit with the mount in place
