  1. That sounds more typical. Took 5 months last time I got handgun permits in Manalapan. A friend of mine is a State Trooper and it took him 4 months in Fair Haven. Which towns in NJ take less than a month? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  2. What statute was he charged and convicted under? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  3. What town in NJ gets permits done in 3 weeks? Are towns allowed to arbitrarily deny extensions? Personally I enjoy collecting military rifles more than handguns, but part of the reason I gloss over handguns for sale is how long the permit takes. However if I have some on hand I do tend to use them. I think I will apply for new permits; 6 of them. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  4. Almost a $1,000 for a single shot AK Pistol? What's the point? Kind of defeats the purpose of an AK. As far as NJ Legal I would have to say yes. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  5. The MAS-49 does not have a threaded barrel but it does have a Grenade Launcher. The Bayonet stores in a tube and then is turned around and locks into tube like an adjustable table leg or umbrella. It has the same Bayonet as the MAS-36, 36/51 and 44. My thinking was if the MAS-49/56 is legal because the Bayonet attaches by rings over the barrel the MAS-49 should also be legal because it is not a Bayonet Lug but other attachment method.
  6. I want to thank everyone for their responses but I believe you are all talking about the MAS 49/56. The MAS 49/56 has been determined to be legal. The MAS 49 does not has a flash hider. It does has a Grenade Launcher. The Bayonet attaches differently to the MAS 49 than it does the 49/56. That is why I was questioning whether it was legal. Does anyone know about the MAS-49 not the MAS-49/56? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  7. Clayton's in Horsham. PA right off the Turnpike I usually use for PA PTP transfers. They charge $20 total for NICS (I think PA uses PICS) and transfer. They also have an indoor range which allows every except 50 BMG. I will update if all goes well. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  8. It's funny you say that I used Cabela's as an example and even asked what if I were to come into your store and purchase the same rifle? One of them said they would have to ship to NJ FFL and two of them said it was OK because I was purchasing it from them direct. Which made zero sense because if theu believed that to be the law; why couldn't they buy the rifle from the PA Seller and then Re-Sell it to me as a NJ Buyer? I ultimately found an FFL South of Philly who has no issue with doing the transfer. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  9. Thank you for the clarification. I thought maybe something was different in Philly or something changed. Three stores were insistent that buyer had to be from PA. The transfer is for a bolt action .22 rifle which I explained to all of them, but they all insisted I was incorrect. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  10. I know its been determined that the MAS- 49/56 is NJ Legal because the Bayonet slips over the barrel and thus there is no lug. However I have never seen any discussion on the MAS-49. Like the MAS 49/56 it has a detachable magazine and is semi-auto thus evil feature test applies. The stock is NOT adjustable, there is NO Pistol Grip, there is NO Flash Hider, there IS a Grenade Launcher, lastly there IS a Bayonet. The MAS-49 has the same Type of Bayonet as the MAS-36, MAS-36/51, and MAS-44. The Bayonet is a spike Bayonet that stores inside of the rifle in a tube. The Bayonet is removed from the tube and turned around and then placed inside the same storage tube but since it is turned the opposite way the Bayonet is now exposed. The way it locks in is with a button just like most adjustable metal legs or posts would on say a table. The Bayonet is legal on the MAS-36 and 36-51 because they are bolt action rifles on the MAS-44 it doesn't matter because there is no grenade launcher. The MAS-49 is a somewhat rare rifle that looks a lot less like an "assault weapon" than the more common MAS 49/56. I would argue it is legal because it is not a Bayonet Lug but a duel purpose storage tube and there is no Lug. Would like to hear the opinions of others.
  11. I have the reverse of this situation. I want to buy a long gun from a PA Resident. He doesn't really want to drive into NJ (can't blame him) and I am willing to go to PA. I have purchased multiple long guns from PA Residents in the past and met them at PA FFL and FFL did transfer. I had to fill out the same paperwork as NJ and show my DL and FID. PA FFL ran background check and transfer was done at a cost of $9 at one place and $20 at another. The problem this time is the PA Resident is right outside of Philly and multiple FFLs I called said they can not transfer long gun to NJ Buyer. I believe this info is incorrect based on the FAQ and past experience. Can someone please clarify. Also while on the topic of purchasing long guns I found online a SA58 Rifle for Sale. Is it banned by name under FAL Type in NJ? If not it seems to pass the evil feature test there is no Bayonet lug, grenade launcher, flash hider or adjustable stock only the magazines are 20 rounds but seller is willing to sell w/o the magazines.
