  1. Lmfaoo Unless you have a very, very large truck it isnt going anywhere. Hahahaha its up on cinderblocks and the tongue is off of it. I suppose with enough time and a large triaxle semi its possible.. lol
  2. I'll probably padlock some tool caddies or ammo boxes and put em in the closet or something for now. Just don't have the space. As for a safe, I am in a mobile/trailer/manufactured home on wheels that has about 4 or 5 steps to get into it, with a rail and a small landing at the top with a right turn into the home. It's mission impossible. Believe it or not, it only took one person to get in. The dolly i purchased was never even used. We layed cardboard on the steps, slid the safe up as much as possible and flipped it right over onto the landing, and then again into the house. By we, i mean one of my friends who is basically a body builder. WE just watched. The safe is a 24 gun buck commander from home depot, weighed like 250+ pounds. Cost me a beer and a few bucks. Can't complain, totally worth it, haha. My firearms are by no means very expensive. Most i spent was like 1150 i think on my M400, or something like that. But, when you factor in 5+ firearms at 600$ each average, plus a few THOUSAND rounds of ammunition for your average nut job on here, and the street value get's to be a bit much. Sure, it's not worth much hypothetically, BUT, the fact of the matter is some gang will pay a good few grand for them. On the other hand, all of the electronics in my house cost less... He can steal my blender and pressure cooker and the one 500$ tv in my house, but other than that and a few old computers, there aint much, i'd be going after the firearms and bit of cash in the safe!
  3. i ALWAYS save the brass, haha. I like the idea of stocking up on a few thousand rounds of .22. You guys have any suggestions for a .22lr Rifle? I have a S&W 15-22. I'd like something with a decent capacity of 10-15 rds. When SHTF and you get into a firefight, you don't want to be reloading every 5 rounds. Haha. Might pick up another 15-22 just to setup as a CQB type rifle for shitty scenarios. Very unlikely it'll happen, but its an excuse...
  4. Those are nice. My issue is floor space, though. Teeny teeny home. Thinking some ammo cans or bins of some sort and put em in the bottom of the closet, or a metal cabinet and ill just fill that. Have some closetmaid ones. That way i at least get the height, too.
  5. Ill definitely find some way to get ammo out and make it all firearm storage. Just wish i didnt have to. I like having it all in there nice and safe.. im a neat freak when it comes to my toys. i hate seeing stuff just hammed in there. The rest of the house can be on fire, IDC.
  6. Thats the thing. I bought much bigger than i thought id need so i wouldnt have to upgrade soon. Its been like 3 months... i have a f**king disease.
  7. I can see the same issue with traffic there being a problem. Im right up route 9 though and would love to see a bass pro. Theyve been talking about it for years though. Still waiting.
  8. Bass pro is no better than dicks. I had great service at the south plainfield store. The large woodbridge one by me is terrible. Bass pro in PA refuses to sell to NJ holders. Cabelas loves NJ money, plus their firearm selection is WAY bigger.
  9. Dang, i was there literally yesterday. If i knew id buy it there. If thats the case, 300$ with a few extra mags and a barrel shroud (to look like a supressor) isnt really worth it, because for the extra 30 or 40$ itll be new and whatever caliber i want. I guess 300 is reasonable with the 3 or 4 mags hes included assuming im paying 350 at a local dealer plus tax and nics, but at 270 plus tax and 5$ nics in PA, ill just get it at a later date when i decide to take the trip.
  10. Yeah i may just get a little cabinet from my mothers garage that im storing there and just put a locking knob on the closet door if i cant find a decent priced locking cabinet. We'll see.
  11. Nice, haha. I Wish i had the space, but i was worried about the weight due to the nature of my home as well as the size because of how small my bedroom is to begin with. I Probably could have gone a bit bigger, but i genuinely thought a 24 gun safe would be plenty for me, even with half of it being shelves. I Suppose it is, for now, IF i take all of the ammo and stuff out and just put guns and a few boxes of each caliber in with the firearms. I'll have to do that, i suppose. Too bad :/ I like how its organized for the most part with all of the ammunition nicely packed in there. My house is a mess, but i like my stuff organized in there, haha. I'll see what i can come up with to clear out the right side of the safe for more firearms (when needed). For now, i SHOULD have room for one, maybe two more firearms on the left side.
  12. Pretty sure if anybody pulled that stunt, they'd not only be expelled but would also face some sort of Trumped up charge for terrorism or something, haha.
  13. I'm thinking i'll stick with Brass cased, mainly because in an End-of-the-world scenario, steel will rust, etc.. I'll definitely be stocking up on quite a bit by the election. Ammo won't be getting any cheaper, and with the elections and what not coming about, who knows what will happen. Thanks for chiming in everyone, keep the suggestions & Info coming!
  14. Btw, was just looking in the safe and i just did a poor job of organizing. If its properly setup and i take out most of the ammunition, i should have lots of space. Hopefully i can clear the other side up and use it for more rifles in the near future. Think ill take one of the small 2 door cabinets i have and just bolt a ghetto latch to it that i can padlock and save myself the money.
  15. Mine isnt even one, but if my fiance caught my daughter playing with a boolit, i am fairly certain you would all be getting really good deals on a few firearms and ammunition. As for the safe, she would probably keep that for me... Better safe than sorry. I may get some cheap tool boxes from home depot and use those. The husky ones arent too bad and will stack nicely and do lock. A job box would be perfect if i had the space. I have a nice big plastic husky one in my truck bed. My whole house is like 500sqft though, and about 800sqft of that is baby stuff (yes those numbers are correct), so no room for a big box. Im thinking small metal cabinet or just some locking boxes of some sort. Thanks folks!
  16. A lot of people have suggested the primary arms. I'd like something like that for another rifle i wanted to pick up that i'd be shooting further with. Yeah, im still very iffy on the burris. Unless i find one for a good, good deal i don't think i'll be picking one up. It's either too big or too small, depending on how you look at it. Worst case it'll get resold or put on a .22 plinker, haha.
  17. I intend on picking up a ton of .22LR too for the SW 15-22 i have. I have no intention of buying 20k rounds, though. I have about 1,000 of .223 right now; enough for a few months of shooting. I intend on picking up a few thousand more hopefully by the end of the year. 20k is a bit much, i would think. I will certainly be picking up a box or so of 12ga as well. I Know what to get for 12 and .22, my issue is with .223, since there is such a huge variety. Same for 9mm and .45, i suppose.
  18. Mine was a break barrel spring powered and was pretty damn loud. Shot it once in my mothers yard and said holy fuck, bad idea and put that thing away FAST. Been sitting there since... Haha I would suggest you get a spring powered airsoft gun. It is 100% Silent, and i used to shoot airsoft and paintball all the time in the yard, as well as my bow occasionally. No issues in 10+ Years, and thats in East Brunswick NJ. So, i would certainly suggest an airsoft gun. Even a cheap spring one, just to learn the basics.
  19. I'm sure there's been a discussion like this, but of course i couldn't find it. I'm trying to start building up an inventory of a fair/large (depending on the person, i suppose) supply of ammunition for SHTF scenario's (i'd probably be screwed being up in Woodbridge in a darn Trailer/Mobile home) as well as "Another liberal president/governor" Scenarios (quite likely), and am not quite sure what to get. There's some good IMI 5.56 out there for only 32 cents a piece (just a hair over the 30 cents a piece i pay for 223 Wolf Gold) that i wanted to get. I'm an American Born Israeli citizen, so it's cool to support my family over there, too, rather than Ukraine or russia or whatever. I've heard its good stuff, so right now i'm basically torn between either picking up a case of 1200 of the IMI 5.56, or going for more of the cheap Wolf Polyformance/military classic steel cased stuff. I realize it does cause more wear to barrels, but if there's another huge shortage (bound to happen) or they make it impossible to order ammo online shipped to nj (even more likely to happen), more is, well, more, plus, my understanding is the ammo savings>the cost of a new barrel. My rifle is a Sig M400, thinking of picking up a DD rifle as well. The steel cased stuff would PROBABLY just sit in the safe anyways in case its impossible to get new stuff/i dont have the money for more brass cased. The IMI, i would probably shoot and just make sure to stay on top of inventory of that stuff. Depending on my financial situation, i may spend a bit more and get a thousand rounds of steel cased for emergencies anyways, and just leave the box sitting right in the bottom of the safe. What would you do/suggest? I'll be picking up more .45 and .223 as well. Not sure i'll get more 3006, though i may while i am ordering, as well as 9mm for a 995 i was going to get. I'm just really iffy about the steel cased stuff. I'm no reloader, but i have always been big with scrapping and have already been saving tons of casings, regardless of their condition (Ones that have been stepped on, etc). Thanks folks.
  20. Hate to revive the dead, but where did you find it for 250? Seen em new for 350ish, and can get my hands on a lightly used one for around 300 with some extra mags and stuff. That a good price? Thought about picking one up just to plink with. Wanted a GSG-5/MP5 type toy but don't want one in .22 and a real mp5 clone is like 2500$+.
  21. Lmao, i have a baby so ive been trying to keep it all locked away. I was fully aware of what id need, and figured id fit 6+ rifles plus storage. I was wrong. I'll have to keep an eye out for either a large plastic ammo box type thing i can fill with extra ammo and lock or a small metal cabinet or something. No garage, only a shed, and its made of sheet metal. Dont even need a crow bar to break into it. I'll see what i can find, i guess, haha. Id fill my ammo boxes and store it up top but they are the crappy plastic ones that hardly hold 200 rds a piece. I think the wifes camera is in there, too. Ill have to take all the extra crap out. That being said, even the cheap wolf ammo i have is freakin expensive for the space it takes up. Id leave the camera and walk out with 1000$ in ammo in the same space! Lol
  22. Hey all.. so i bought a nice new buck commander (stack on) 24 gun fireproof safe a little while ago when i got my fid and got into owning my own firearms rather than renting. Now, i knew that if it says 24 itll hold maybe 12, but i really didnt think the thing would get so full so fast, and i only have a 12 gauge, 2 ARs, and a bolt action rifle and my little 1911 on the door. What the heck! I want to order a few thousand rounds of ammo to save (upcoming election has me spooked!) But i dont think id be able to even fit it! Granted i have a small safe and important paperwork in there, i would still think id have more space! Any suggestions as far as ammo storage? A smaller locking safe on top of the other safe? Maybe a small locking cabinet in the little closet? And to think she was complaining it was too big... and thats with the nice door organizer and all! Ill have to reorganize. Maybe if i get a smaller ammo safe/cabinet ill be able to open the right side for more rifles. Always go MUCH bigger than you think youll need, fellas! Suggestions would be great. Has to be baby safe. I live in a teeny mobile home, so cant be huge, otherwise i have lots of nice big metal cabinets at work.
  23. Ive been stalking ebay looking for a deal. Ill probably pick one up for now and put it on the 22 later on if i find a good deal on a trijicon Acog of some sort. The one in the store wasnt functioning properly, i dont think. It was changing brightness and stuff on its own and sort of fading in and out. Does yours do that? Maybe its low battery is all.
  24. If only i knew how to reload, hahaha. Not quite sure its worth it for me either, to be honest.
  25. Yep, ran to cabelas and looked around. The Burris AR332 was really nice, but i don't know how i feel about the reticle, it just seems really small to the point where it would block the view of a target at a distance. Even at 100 yds, if i was aiming at a person the guy's whole torso would be glowing red because of the design. Either make the darn thing a dot, your typical + design or make it large enough to see the target. Otherwise, i would have walked out with one at the sale price and wouldn't think twice.
