  1. As a gun owner in New Jersey I understand the mess of laws in the state. Now that I own milsurps I'm curious is it lawful to own bayonets not carry just own (of course). If it's legal what about taking them to the range for a photoshoot. Lastly I have a question about carrying a knife mostly as a tool of course I have a Swiss knife and I used that is my tool normally and for my understanding it's under the lawful purpose clause or whatever. I was thinking about getting 3.25 in pocket knife foldable blade not assisted in any way I assume lawful I don't know if anyone's had trouble with carrying knives New Jersey other than the few court cases that's still left the wall kind of vague like New Jersey likes it. I'll probably keep carrying the Swiss pocket knife but I find that the blade may be weak for some things but I do like it's simplistic size mostly everything I would probably need for my basic lifestyle. I'm sure carrying a knife has been debated a lot in this forum before but I haven't seen anything so if you have any links or just want to give me the simple rundown I'm fine with that.
  2. Thanks for the information. I don't think I know anyone active but if someone pops in mind I'll remember this.
  3. No I'm not. I'm just a college student who also works and I'm firearms enthusiasts and collector. Shoot sometimes but not as much as I would like. I do have family that served just not active and no one I know personally who is active.
  4. Thanks the firearms I plan to import meet all requires just that I do believe I need a ffl08. I couldn't find anything on the Brownells website but I did email mmbimports.
  5. I asked them they said they only import long arms. I didn't try Brownells so look at that was just wondering if anyone imported before and had any recommendations/tips. I not so concerned with the importer being in the state just trying to get all the information I can and to have an easy smooth transaction.
  6. Yes Since I don't own the guns yet there are many versions of firearms civilian and government (they are the same just ones sold to the government and ones sold to the civilian) government being police and military. I for sure want government models and hope to get former military handguns. They are legal in NJ. Capitcity on standard magazines are low for both. I have seen them imported into by a few companies but not so common because of low importation and low production.
  7. They're not readily available in the US but they are available it's mostly about getting unique matching parts ( just spare non-matching holsters, magazines or whatever cost a lot) also there's a potential but small cost-saving factor. I don't pop up in the forums as often as I would like so I might just miss the whole discussion on importation particularly about handguns.
  8. Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I have questions about importing Firearms into the US. I plan to do to import 2 handguns probably by the end of the year. I plan to import from Switzerland. I just want to know the overall cost roughly and the breakdown of it and if anyone knows good importer for collector pieces that would be great. Not trying to get a billboard on guns I get imported. Thanks.
  9. If you don't have the parts to make your magazines +10 round then really are you breaking the law. Practically all gun shops and ranges sell hexamags so I'm thinking they are legal especially since CA thinks they are fine. Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
  10. Lol. This is how good Facebook gun groups get banned. For not following the rules. I mean I don't like the rules and find them stupid but it's not business/companies. I would never tell on someone selling on eBay but please people don't be idiots Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
  11. Mostly milsurp and antique handguns and rifles. Without the P2P it would make it a lot easier. I'm turning 21 soon and it was hard just to get my FID noe that the guys who helped me are in different colleges (we were in High School together), I don't know who would what to do it for me. It's not like a know a people in my college well enough to ask about obtaining a P2P and not I don't come from a pro 2A family really... Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
  12. I wish you luck if you try but I don't think anyone has gotten a permit to carry for being in danger or fear of danger. Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
  13. Thank you. I also thought it was pre-1899 but it really doesn't matter since the long gun is called the Swiss 1889 but thanks for clearing up the mistake I wrote because antique firearms are pre-1898. I try best to read carefully but I hear a lot from the people in NJ so I guess I get confused. Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
  14. I'm interested in antique firearm and was wondering about the laws in NJ. It has provisions in the NJ laws but I want to clear things up. I'm interested in a old firearm with unique ammo and a 12 round magazines which was unique pre-1899. It's a detachable magazine but only used in 2 guns both being designed pre 1899 and many made pre-1899. Is it legal? I mean under federal law it isn't a firearm but not sure about NJ. Also same thing about pre-1899 handguns and revolvers do I need a NJ pistol permit for one of those. Lastly are the firearms like short-barreled lever guns or stocked handguns pre-ATF/NFA that were deemed legal in NJ (taking about the ones ATF put on list as being grandfathered in so the ATF rules weren't applied to them). Lots of question but I'm interested in expanding the collection. Please dont copy and paste the laws. I read them a while ago and they aren't so clear to me so any clearly answered questions would help. I'm sure some of you guys looked into some of this stuff before. 15. Where in PA? Not trying to go crazy far if I don't have to. Thanks. [emoji106] Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
  16. I shoot at range 14 time to time and I wonder if there is a range in NJ or near NJ that's +200 yds. Most of the private ranges have required I don't meet usually because of age (20) or just don't have time for all the hassle. I'm in Middlesex county. Thank you. Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
  17. First I will add I posted this in the wrong area on the forum so this is a repost. Now I understand that we have a statue for self defense on one's property but what is fuzzy to me is the laws about hollow points. I want to use TAP urban for home defense which is a polymer tipped round. Now I don't need answer from people who are clueless and prefer someone how deals with the law on the legality of hollow points and/or tipped hollow points. I would prefer to use TAP urban because I live in an urban area. I understand that I can own hollow points and shoot them at a range or to hunt but you most go directly to and from those places. I also understand they could be used against you if you are a criminal. What is not clear to me is home defense fine with these rounds. Next is bullet resistant armour. I understand you can own it and use it but just like hollow points it could be used against you if you are a criminal. I am not planning to go outside my home with armour just home defense. Any clear and understandable explanation to both these tools in the term of legality would be appreciated. Again I prefer someone with knowledge on the Gun laws of NJ. Thanks you -Miguel Hernandez Sent from my LG-TP260 using Tapatalk
