They left my garden alone for most of the summer but the last 2-3 weeks they ate everything but peppers.  Pretty pissed off about it.  If I didn't have houses behind mine I'd definitely be sniping some of these bastards.

I have a school across street, 2 acre back yard, 1000 squirrels! What can I LEGALLY use? 308? NAH. 30-06? NAH. 22 short? Possible. PoPo down street though.

what would be the purpose of a .22 rifle issued to soldier in the USMC?

New recruits off the bus for training. Why waste 30-06 on newbies!

Now you are talking !  :)  Missing the sight hood as they all are - what's the serial range?

Would like to compare it to mine....

Well - if that 40X is yours - AND you want it to go someday - it would fit VERY nicely in my .22 collection LOL

    :)

Maybe my wife will sell it!

Looks like a remington stock...and the action is way different !!  Cool !

Very early ser #. Made in 43. Beginning of 22 issues to USMC.

It's too bad you don't have some WW2 era 22lr ammo.  I really get a kick when I run an en bloc full of 1940 something ammo through my Garand.  Hearing the sounds, feeling the recoil, smelling the smells, it actually gives me chills.

I have NEVER seen US ammo 22 from WW2.
