I purchased a Mossberg 500 Cruiser this past Friday. It has a 5+1 capacity and accepts 2 3/4 and 3" shells. So today I took a trip to my parents house to do some shooting out in the back woods and test my new shotgun out. Here's my issue: I could not get any more than 1 shell in the chamber and 2 in the tube (for a total of 3). It seemed that once I got the first shell in, racked it, the inserted the next two, if I tried to insert a third the shell seemed to stop. I couldn't figure it out but i didn't mess with it. I just shot a box like that. this is the first shotgun of my own so I was wondering if you more knowledgeable folks could lend some thoughts or assistance as to why this might have happened?

Just purchased a Mossberg 500 from JT Custom Guns and I want to say it was an excellent transaction experience. Solid FFL and will definitely do business again. He went above and beyond trying to make sure I got my shotgun and hounded NICS for me. A real class act and very knowledgeable! Thanks Jack!

So I know I started a thread before looking for a .38, but one thing I'm also thinking of is I have to go through the deal of getting a P2P again if I want to get one. One of the other things I was thinking of trying out is trap shooting, and getting a shotgun means I wouldn't need a P2P. So I guess I should ask (since I don't know much about shotguns): Where do I begin? Looks like most trap shooting is done with 12 Gauge, right? Anyone know of a cheap shotgun that would be good for this? Should I go for a longer barrel length (28" or 30")? I think I'm leaning toward pump action, rather than over and under or semi-auto. Thanks in advance for help & suggestions.

I have a 12 gauge side by side that was my Great-Grandfathers. It's about 100 years old & is missing the firing pins. I never owned a gun before but am getting ready to apply for Firearms purchasing ID. I'd like to go hunting & am interested in eventually getting a handgun. But now that I was downloading forms my old shotgun came to mind. Another question is; Do you guys know of or recommend a place to get this shotgun possibly repaired in North Jersey?

Heads up guys. I work in "Asset" Protection for a major retailer here in NJ. The attachment was emailed to us from corporate this morning. Just thought you'd like to see what I had to warn my detectives and store associates about in our morning meeting. One more thing to add to our situational awareness. Jeez. Wwatersoaker.pdf
