That is how it is now and this case doesn’t change that.  The case was about possession not purchase.  Illegal immigrants would be denied a purchase via FFL because they couldn’t pass the BGC.   My point/question is the possession case verdict gives precedent to challenge that.

Yes possession, a state the makes it illegal to possess firearms without a FOID. Hence, defacto.

So, I can't figure out how the FOID law stands when a judge just ruled he didn't need one post Bruen to exercise his right.

It really isn't.. Or you would have to get arrested to fight any law.

    You basically do....

Proving you have standing otherwise has shown to be extremely difficult as they work on hypothetical situations that have to basically be certain to occur.

Either way, he still would have had to most likely meet the requirements of the current permitting system, and also been denied a permit under their "draconian" system.

Say he met all the requirements except for a "justifiable need" and was thus denied, I would say he easily has standing if he was arrested while carrying. That's what Bruen was explicit on.

One of the problems in this ruling - besides the total rejection of SCOTUS 2A rulings - is that they said he should of applied for a license - back in 2017, when HI didn't give licenses to civilians (like NJ, CA, etc..)

That's kinda how the law works. He would have applied, and when denied the constitutional issue has standing.

In Europe the date notation is in order of increasing duration - i.e. day.month.year

This is at least logical compared to the US method.

    Not just Europe.

Hahahaha! There's the signal; I've lost it!

Sorry @JackDaWack.  You too @Ferris. That's what I get for posting after few beers and dinner. Bad math! .80/round might be considered a bargain compared to HST, but it's still expensive.

I checked. As an example, in 2020 I paid .42/round for HST .357 Sig when it was on sale. Now that was a bargain.

You got me excited because this stuff pre pandemic was going for 50% off In certain places.

  6. Free is free on the fuel side, hard to argue that.

But I'm starting to believe in these mini split systems with heat pumps. They are pretty efficient compared to other available options, easy to install and the units aren't more than 2k.

I just put one in our basement it's it's fantastic. Plus, it also cools the air, but that's obviously gonna cost more money to run, not that you have to.

I think we paid like $1100 for the pioneer 30,000btu model.

The only specialty item I needed was a vacuum gauge for charging AC systems, and had a vacuum pump already. You probably have that already for vehicles.

i seem to recall having checked into that too, and i think waste oil heaters in a residential setting are illegal here. i might end up getting a couple high capacity propane heaters here to supplement the waste oil heater.....

They can't be used to heat a residential structures, including anything attached to the structure. So an attached garage is a no go, but you can use one in a residential detached garage or shop etc.

The EPA has come down hard on heating systems across the board from nat gas, wood and also these waste oil burners.. so I'm not surprised it's hard to find parts for a 10+ year old model.

My wood stove isn't even EPA certified anymore and it was bought brand new in 2017.
